  1. Classic, but still funny
  2. If I understand this right, it would rule out the use of this: https://more.att.com/5g/helmet#:~:text=The AT%26T 5G Helmet is,overcoming on-field communication challenges.&text=The AT%26T 5G Helmet has, historic first in NCAA history. I am not sure if the Indiana Deaf School has these helmets or not.
  3. I would not mind seeing this.
  4. Not a news source though, or a link to the story. Now, if that coach himself posts on social media, ok.
  5. Just keep the name of said candidate off here, along with more detailed hints that might make it obvious. Thanks
  6. 3 Indiana high school kids who were all hard nosed and hard working kids who were dominant players on their teams, and one one player from IU, along with a couple from ND are on the Chiefs roster. The kid that no D1 program wanted except for Ball State in Carson Steele has proven what perseverance can do. George Karlaftis was dominant in high school and college and has stepped up in a big way this post season. Drue Tranquil has developed into a solid ILB. 2 connections....St. Francis here in FW has a one day camp where up to 8 teams can come. One the day we were there, West Lafayette was as well. Karlaftis was a man among boys back then. That was his junior year, and I remember telling coaches then that he would be in the league. A couple of the St. Francis coaches even said yep, they were not even going to bother recruiting him. The other connection was with Tranquil at Carroll HS. They were still in our conference and from the time I started here in 2008, we had some great battles with Carroll. Drue's Sr. year, we were there. We had Jordan Hogue, a Junior WR that was good friends with Dru. They worked out together in the off season and attended several of the same invite only camps. We always played Carroll week 4. Games at Carroll are crazy. The place is always packed, especially the student section. It really is a cool environment. We were both undefeated going into the game in 2013. Drue's younger brother Justin was another key player for them. Justin went on to play at Western Michigan as a safety. I still remember setting up our headsets in the pressbox and seeing Drue and Jordan standing nose to nose talking shit. Coaches were close by, but there was never a question of it getting out of control. Both offenses were clicking from the start. Hogue did have 2 HUGE picks in the endzone that kept us in the game. Had Carroll just kept handing off to either Tranquil, we had no answer. We had more 2 way players than them. Late in the game, we get a huge stop at mid field on 3rd down. There was something like 1:30 left in the game, so Carroll punts to bury us deep. They were leading 35-34 at that point. Hogue had never returned a punt for us until that moment. He takes our regular return man out....actually said get the f**k out I am housing this mfer. Sure enough he catches it with a running start and heads to our sideline. Our OLB was a sophomore, who had 3 HUGE blocks on the return. He hit the first guy just a couple yards in front of Hogue and did not even break stride in the block. The next one as around the 50. His initial hit knocked one guy into another guy who looked like he was going to make the play. Then the 3rd block was the last Carroll player with any chance. We score to go up late and hold on for the win. Epic game. Both crowds were into it all game. It is easily the most exciting combination of game and environment in my 30 years of coaching. So as much crap I have thrown around about the Chiefs, those are 3 guys that are easy to root for.
  7. I agree coaching matters, but Brohm was pre wild West for college football with NIL at the level it is now and the transfer portal where it is now. Not taking anything away from Brohm, he is a great coach.
  8. Unfortunately now, that is reflected on the field. Gonna take a boatload of cash to compete.
  9. 🤣 https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1GdWV16k5u/
  10. I worded it incorrectly. the University sent that money to its own program.
  11. While I have long thought the current path was not sustainable....this will likely accelerate things. Ohio State reports a deficit, and now IU reports it sent money to the football program. I am guessing a LOT of programs are in the same boat. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/indiana/2025/01/31/why-indiana-university-sent-record-34-million-to-athletic-department/78064919007/?utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&fbclid=IwY2xjawIJxjNleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHSj1LqnqVJ6ObiRkt3xenw2RAiGqlGqybw_gkU7RESKmXcoGDzeebF1CNA_aem_E8mI5dCiOB8FvgPT1b3lfg
  12. Irish SHOULD BE in a similar position as they were this past season…..meaning they should make the playoff. But who will be that one team? Seems there is always one that gets them. But in a 12 team, or any other change that adds more teams, they should be in the mix.
  13. I was a fan of Fife, but know he was undermining the program on recruiting visits. He would get pissy when the conversation on a visit turned to NIL money. I am not so sure he wants back in the game in the current shape it's in now. I think he burned some bridges in Bloomington too.
  14. To throw fuel on the fire....anyone from the Patriots making comments......even an average attorney could discredit them on cross. 🙂
  15. A friend sent this today. My immediate response is HELL no. Not going to take anything away from Brady, but in just a few years, Mahomes could exceed all that Brady has accomplished. While I enjoy hearing Bellichick talk about x's and o's, I still think that the Patriots being caught more than a couple times for cheating is a thick, dark cloud over what was an incredible run for the team. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/43612384/bill-belichick-suggests-super-bowl-trophy-named-tom-brady
  16. I always viewed crews as a team. Just like teams advance in the playoffs, officiating teams should advance as well. There is a lot to be said for the value of teamwork and chemistry within a crew. Do the best players in each position regardless of team advance? nope. Football is the ultimate team sport and it should be that way in every aspect.
  17. Yeah I said it
  18. Buckner's current term ends this year. I don't see an exact date, just 2025. I cannot remember when ballots are sent out. I voted for him in previous terms but likely will not if he runs again. I am not sure if the board has term limits or not. But if his term goes until the end of this calendar year, that could be a problem. That said, I think even he sees that Woodson cannot be here another season. I MIGHT be the rare IU alum/fan that thinks I would be ok with Sampson coming back. Sure he was blatant in what he did wrong, but the fact is that what got him in trouble was made acceptable by the NCAA after he was fired. The guy is a damn good coach and recruiter.
  19. It has NOTHING to do with the "beliefs of the moderators". Had we allowed what you wanted to have done, after the charges had been dropped, we would have been exposed to legal action on his part. Go to the facebook fans page to drag his name through the mud. It's not happening here. Is it REALLY that difficult to comprehend?
  20. Feel horrible for the Bills.
  21. So, I was out with my dog for a while and came back to the replay ruling of a catch. I did not see the original play, but with the replays they did show after ruling it a catch, I am thinking 'wait, so Buffalo was on offense and they called that a catch'. There is no f'ing way that was a catch for KC........unreal.
  22. Had this thought, because this is how out of control the whole thing is. Did someone offer it to just enter the portal, or was it an offer from another NIL group to get him to commit to their program?
  23. You don't mean his missed pick when Quarless caught the pass to keep the drive alive to pull within 1 do you? 🙂 That 2013 game to end the season very well may be THE best Packers Bears game in my life. There have been bigger wins for Green Bay, but that was 2 solid teams trading haymakers for 4 quarters. The Packers had something like 4 or 5 4th down conversions on that drive, including the go ahead score. Forte may have been the last great RB for the Bears, right?
  24. A couple of coaching moves so far. Jason Rebrovich, the d line coach was fired. Tom Clements, the QB coach is retiring Hafley is still in the mix with head coaching interviews. As far as players go, I think Jaire Alexander are done in Green Bay. He has apparently wiped his social media of all Packers related content. I am ok with the move. He cannot stay healthy. The team usually does not go into free agency much, but posts are saying Tee Higgins is visiting Green Bay. Gotta be a PR type day up there with the arctic temps lol.
  25. I notice the background is in KC colors. hmmmmm 🤣 But seriously, that is really cool for him, congratulations
