  1. For years, John Madden said his favorite to win a championship is the team that won it the year before, until they were eliminated. The Irish have not had the same results this year that they have in previous years. They came into the 1st round of the tournament as an unseeded team (ranked 2nd at the end of the season) playing the 4 seed Ohio State (ranked 5th at the end of the season) at OSU. Ohio State won a close one at Notre Dame in March by a score of 10-9. The game yesterday was 2-1 after the 1st quarter. Ohio State was playing well and looked to be in control. The Irish offense found life in the 2nd quarter and dominated the rest of the game, scoring 6 goals and giving up 2 for a 7-4 halftime lead. They looked like the teams that had won 2 titles. The Irish reach the quarterfinals for the 13th time in their last 14 tournament appearances. They face another at large team in Penn State Sunday at Annapolis. This team is fun to watch when the offense is clicking. https://www.wndu.com/video/2025/05/12/notre-dame-lacrosse-team-gets-big-win-ncaa-tournament/
  2. A lot of funny stuff being posted
  3. Dugger Union Community Schools transitioned to an online and blended learning model because the Northeast School Corporation voted to close the traditional Dugger Elementary and Union High Schools due to budget shortfalls back in 2014. Community members, however, secured a charter school, Dugger Union Community School, which now operates in the former school buildings, utilizing online instruction and blended learning techniques in partnership with the Indiana Cyber Charter School. This charter school is authorized by Grace Schools Charter Authority, LLC. Goes back to one of my original points in the entire school choice discussion......who actually does the choosing? It isn't the parents, or even in this case, the community.
  4. Going back to the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Toronto Maple Leafs are 1-13 in closeout games. Imagine being booed at home for being up 3-2 in a series.
  5. This is for interesting and/or unique stats for a team, or for a league. Here is a fun one Since 1977-78, NBA teams up at least 7 with 40 seconds left in the 4th quarter or OT in a playoff game were 1,609-0 going into last night's Pacers game against the Bucks. That record is now 1,609-1. The Bucks had a late lead in regulation along with a 20 point lead in the 2nd quarter.
  6. In this new era of college football, I think the question to ask as a follow up is how many of those guys transferred to Maryland and played just 1 or 2 seasons. Someone that transfers like that is likely more interested in their numbers than winning, unfortunately.
  7. I posted that because I have never been a fan of his. I have no idea how he ever ended up on ESPN. My favorite moment is a slightly buzzed Bill Tobin, the Colts GM responding to a question about Kiper because he picked Peyton Manning instead of Ryan Leaf. I also posted because of this nonsense. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/15R5vhjAxh/
  8. 23%......not even good for a weatherman lol.
  9. Could be a path for more women to become officials.
  10. I missed this one from late February. Al was a part of the original coverage of the NHL on USA Network in the early days of cable. Before we had cable, dad and I would go watch games at a friend's house until we had gotten cable ourselves. Voices like Dan Kelly, Sam Rosen, and Al Trautwig were unforgettable. RIP Al https://www.espn.com/espn/story/_/id/44000011/broadcaster-al-trautwig-68-dies-complications-cancer
  11. One of the first players I remember watching. RIP
  12. A National treasure https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1QDwwVvEz9/ https://www.facebook.com/share/r/19yVv2kRda/
  13. I looked up the line of succession. You could easily make the case that the 18 in line are all complicit. Hell, most of those 18 were in the Oval Office when Trump and Bukele met with the press.
  14. I think cases like this one are just accelerating the demise of college athletics. With their hands tied as far as what they can do, it does appear the NCAA can set limits as well as standards for how agents operate. The pro leagues have some very demanding and strict guidelines in place for registering as an agent. I am surprised that it at least appears the NCAA has done very little so far, or does not seem interested in doing anything of substance.
  15. 16th....with just 2? 3 players on the roster? lol
  16. Same here…. I think she is underrated as an artist. Granted most the attention is due to other stuff she says.
  17. I can see it now.... Steve: The wind is blowing in hard from the lake as you can see with this ball that looked like it was going to be a home run but is pushed by the wind to go over the backstop and into the pressbox. 🤣
  18. I will be curious to see what becomes of Soldier Field after the move. I have been to a few concerts there, and it's just not a great location. I refuse to sit in nose bleeds for any concert, but I hear the acoustics are really bad for shows there as well. Getting in and out of it are a pain as well. I never felt more uncomfortable in a crowd than I did when leaving from the North end of the stadium. I felt like I was being lifted off the ground at times. A new stadium away from the city that could also be better set for parking would be a great alternative for shows. So does Soldier Field become the soccer teams' home? For the Bears, it makes obvious sense. Move the practice and training facilities all to one place? Seems that a lot of teams have that set up now.
  19. But it could also be any or all of the following: focusing on 1A to 4A? another post selling the site? Or about “premium content”? Or that he is charging kids $25 to help the “recruiting” process? or all the above lol
  20. Just 6.5 hours after that.
