  1. maybe........and if he is, you are saying you take the bait? 😁I get that it is obvious you two are not on the same side of the political aisle......but it seems the standard you are applying for him is to use sources you approve of.
  2. Wow...you cannot comprehend can you? I did NOT delete comments because of any facts....AGAIN, it was solely because of where they were posted. I have not deleted a single one of them from the covid topics, have I? and yes, using dramatic terms like "silencing voices" you are acting like some sort of martyr.
  3. If there was something inaccurate in the story; ok. Like anything; there's a time and place to have a discussion about a source, I just feel it could have gone by with no comment. By no means am I saying that is a rule or anything, but several people viewed the post; people with a similar view as you about that source with no comment. I am willing to bet that Bash feels similar to you about the site, but his comment was in line with the moment that a young man had lost his life.
  4. The interesting ripple effect of that petition is that Seeger was the smallest 2A, so when Scecina was moved up, Seeger moved to 1A..............and went to back to back State title games, winning one and losing one.
  5. I am not sure what their enrollment was back then, but similar to what we saw when there were just 5 classes. There was a HUGE enrollment difference from the top school in 5A and the last school in it. I believe that the IHSAA has always divided classes based solely on enrollment. Keep in mind too that in 1973, when this started, there were not many consolidated schools. So, there were a lot of rural schools that were relatively small. With Scecina, I believe the Archdiocese wanted to keep potential enrollment about the same for the 4 deanery schools. So they looked at the population of the various parishes to accommodate that. Interestingly, Ritter was 1A back then....and won a State title back then....late 70's. I believe it was 79. They did not have a great record, but the points they earned for wins were all against 3A schools.
  6. Still here, aren't you??? You keep going with the differing opinions bullshit, but there is nothing I have done when it comes to you that has a thing to do with your opinions. How and where you express them on this site has been the issue for a couple years now. You flooded the main page two seasons ago with your political opinions while the admins on this site agreed to ask all members to keep the opinions regarding the virus off the main page, and stick to the topics of games canceled or rescheduled because of what we were dealing with. You posted the same thing multiple times during this season that got you a spot in time out. The fact is I have not even stated an opinion about many of the things you post about on here. Look around this next level forum....or even muda's forums. Your opinions are all over...again, it has always been about simply where you post things. You have even used the GTFOH as a reply to another user on here....nothing happened, right? Even with this opinion you have; you are still here, aren't you? Don't even contribute to the site, yet you feel it's your place to explain what I in particular should be doing on this site, or how the site is managed; or your place to call out others as you see fit. There are plenty of opinions I may not agree with, but I scroll past them....don't feel an urge to say or even do anything about them. My view is you come across as a self righteous dick here. Maybe you are not in person, but your persona here is certainly of one. You hold everyone else; well, those you disagree with, to a higher standard than you have for yourself. Even recently, with the Haskins story, you kept taking jabs at gonzo; even when he did not directly say anything about you. A young man was tragically killed; yet you chose your usually dick approach to attack the source of his post...again, place and time. A young man is dead; LONG before his time should have been up. That should have been the topic in the moment; nothing else. But nope; just how to interject, didn't you? I also believe you want to be banned so you can act like some sort of martyr. So, go ahead and keep patting yourself on the back for being such a great contributor here all you want. I would prefer to ignore it, but for some reason, you keep feeling the urge to quote me or tag me a lot lately.
  7. In such a short span of time; Louie, Bob and now Gilbert; one of the funniest people I have seen. https://www.nbcnews.com/pop-culture/celebrity/gilbert-gottfried-iconic-comedian-dies-67-long-illness-rcna24111 This is a classic scene from Beverly Hills Cop....RIP Gilbert and thanks for so many laughs.
  8. I know exactly what it means.....Something along the lines of GFY.........don't need you telling me what to be doing here, and if you are going to be SOOOO critical of the way the site is managed.....you can GTFOH.
  9. Don't want to be here? Don't like the way the page is managed either? TFB You are free to go any time....hypocrite.
  10. They were good. We played them in sectionals in 84, and only beat them by 2. They had no one who could really kick, so they went for 2 each time they scored.....and missed each time. A couple years later, I was able to spend some time talking football with Coach Springer. What a great experience that was. Long after he retired, he and my uncle were regulars at the OTB in Indy and were good friends going back to their HS days. I always enjoyed chatting with him when I would meet them there.
  11. That was actually the 3rd year of the post season. Mishawaka Marian was the 1st 1A champ.
  12. Western High School has multiple openings within the building including special education, middle school science, and in-school suspension supervisor. There are more teaching opening anticipated. Paid football stipends are available at the high school and middle school level. Interested candidates email HFC Alex Stewart at astewart@western.k12.in.us
  13. and then in the cluster, Penn and Elkhart Central, I believe were in the same and played first game of the season. Winner of that game basically made the playoffs while the loser had no chance. In the first year of the cluster, we ended up in a 3 way tie between us (WC), Lawrence North and Perry Meridian. The tie breakers were all OT segments; put the ball on the 10 and you have 4 downs to score. A coin flip determined the first two teams to face off, so we faced LN. It was cold and raining all week; this was a Wednesday night with the sectional against Washington to be played Friday. We matched scores in round 1 with LN. They scored first in round 2, and we got to 4th down. We had a TE wide open in the middle just inside the goal line. George slipped as he threw and it one hopped. We were done. Next PM comes out, fumbles first play and LN recovers. LN kicks a FG on their first play and wins. They lost to a REALLY good Washington team that Friday night. Washington made it to the State final, and lost to Penn.
  14. Silver Creek High School has a Geography/History position open as well as varsity & middle school coaching positions available. Please contact HC Dave Papenhaus for more information. Dpapenhaus@scsc.school
  15. Yes, I have participated in the past on a couple of very specific points or questions raised. But the links posted had nothing to do with any conversation I chose to be a part of. The tag was simply to draw out an opposing view. Had it been a quote, ok...but it was not. There are benefits to the tag, and I am not saying anyone cannot use the function. I have from time to time if I have a question for someone I think will have an answer. I have razzed yucca from time to time as well. I still think it's a dick move to be used in a manner of challenging what is thought to be an opposing view. My purpose is to have him not tag me simply because I don't want to engage in the conversation he tried to start. Otherwise, it may have gone on and on, and become even more annoying. And there had already been a history of it....before this.
  16. As the topic in general goes, no one here is going to convince anyone of anything to change their points of view. So it was pointless to keep responding. I did not consider it highjacking a thread honestly. But to tag someone to try and draw them into a conversation when you believe they have an opposing view? For all that even Muda and I disagree about, I cannot think of a time he tagged me with news or thoughts out of nowhere. Just like his replies to me on my recent dead pool post a couple weeks ago, it is a dick move. I just refuse to engage with someone in any conversation who chooses to act like that.
  17. Don’t tag me…not even interested in discussing it, especially with you. It has nothing to do with the previous conversation.
  18. My perspective More and more kids are having to choose between work and participating in extra curricular activities. We have seen kids in our program that are going to work instead of practice, or are going home to watch younger siblings instead of practice. You COULD tell a kid if you miss again, you are off the team. You get a response back “ok”. Sure, old school thinking would say cut them. But when there is no real depth, and you could end up with a team of 15-20 kids, that really is not an option. So you get creative in how to deal with this type of thing. You do what you can. Maybe this alleviates some of this and can keep more kids participating? Talking to other coaches in the area, it is the same everywhere. That’s why I really do just roll me eyes when I see conversations about what makes a great, when so many programs are focused on coaching the kids we have, trying to get the most out of them from day to day is the goal. So, outside the box thinking like this might be a way to address a growing problem.
  19. Would not mind seeing him land in Bloomington
  20. I misread the original post as AGES 5-11, and not grades…lol, my mistake. In that case, 8th graders are still ok, as for a lot of schools, the junior high season starts after the high school season, but the 9-11 grades should not be there outside the contact window. They can still lift and condition though, like all other sports can. My guess though is there is some flexibility with wrestling as was mentioned about swimming.
  21. I would first suggest looking into what you are allowed to do. There is a limited contact window in the Spring where you can do football stuff. But outside that window, you are limited to strength, conditioning, and agility work, and nothing football specific.
  22. I will check on this, but I am pretty sure if the kids are in the school system, there is no issue with this happening. The limited contact period only applies to a high school coach and his athletes on the high school team.
