  1. It is mostly dependent on what the school a student is leaving says. One of the questions on the transfer is "do you believe this transfer is for athletic purposes?" If that school says yes, then the IHSAA will investigate it. Even if a physical move is involved. We had a RB a few years ago...moved and transferred at the start of the 2nd semester. The school he left challenged it. The student was declared ineligible. That is the only instance I am aware where a move was involved and a student was declared ineligible. If the school a student is leaving just signs off on the transfer, the IHSAA will more than likely approve. The only time I can think of they didn't was when the younger Gordon brother was transferring from North Central to Cathedral. NC signed off, but he was still only given limited eligibility.
  2. They are granted "limited eligibility" in most cases; meaning they are only eligible for sub varsity games. There are cases where a student is just declared ineligible, so they have to stay at the school they transferred to for a year without playing any sport they did at the previous school. In those cases, the students usually just go back to the school they transferred from.
  3. I like it. It's an outside the box type of thing. The B!G really needs to look at this, as we all know how lopsided the two divisions are.
  4. Hardy was by suicide. Don't forget Steve McIlvene from New Haven. He played BBall at Dayton and was home for a weekend from school. Actually was at the school and stopped by my classroom the day before to say hello. He had such a great story to tell; overcoming a lot of obstacles and getting to a solid D1 program like Dayton. He ended up having an enlarged heart. I would not be surprised to hear that Swanigan had something similar. As far as Lymon; are you referring to Selwyn who went to Purdue?
  5. Please do not tag me with something like this Dante. Not interesting in engaging in any conversation involving a POS like Cromwell.
  6. Man, this was a punch in the gut reading this. What a great player and personality he was too. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/34131855/ex-nfl-dt-tony-siragusa-goose-dies-age-55
  7. Typically, you will see a 7 on 7 segment, maybe one on ones with linemen, and inside run period, then full 11 on 11. Rules state that players can only be in helmets and shoulder pads for equipment. The scrimmages are also limited on full contact. The IHSAA defines full contact as taking a ball carrier to the ground
  8. My thoughts.....for years being opposed to the multiplier idea, I tracked season records in each class. This was about a 5 year period in the early days of this site. What I found was that half the teams in each class had 4 wins or less. About 10 in each class had 2 or less. My concern is we could possibly relegate so many teams that 1A and maybe 2A is full of them, while 5A and 6A are full of successful teams; to the point you could see 4A and maybe even 5A teams in those relegated classes. I think if that happens, you would see school size being a factor across the board.
  9. @Muda69 has brought up relegation for several years now. It's an interesting idea in combination with the success factor.
  10. Great team win.....solid pitching, great defense, and I really liked seeing them play small ball most of the game, moving guys on bases and putting the ball in play. I also think the umpire crew deserves some props; great defensive plays by both teams and I believe the reviews were called right in each case.
  11. Quentin Bowen named the new Head Coach at Northrop https://youtu.be/SZLQymUfYhc
  12. As if it was a serious comment. 🙄
  13. Nah...if he were, he would spell it MacCullough. 😀 Both are Celtic though......so there is that.

  16. I think this supports my original stance. The owner/team knew and helped it happen, and the moment he decides he wants out of Houston; this all hit the fan...and the owner made it happen. Keep in mind I never said he was innocent, and I still believe these were mostly all consensual encounters.
  17. One of the more unique sounds in the music I grew up listening too...I even have Seals and Crofts on my phone's playlist. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/jim-seals-seals-crofts-singer-behind-summer-breeze-dead-at-80-1364260/ Just a couple of my favorites
  18. In one of those, you can thank Herbstreit for blowing the deal on their first choice. 😀
  19. The Alumni Club in Fort Wayne has Coach Carr as a speaker a few years ago. It was a small crowd and I had the chance to talk to him for a bit afterward, and get a picture taken with him. He is such a class act.
  20. He posted on his twitter and one of the fan sites posted he had been offered.
  21. Not sure what you are seeing, but I see it everywhere; local news sites and local TV news, social media sites for the networks, people sharing the story.
  22. Canada does make a lot of good beer......and mountains, a LOT of really cool mountains.
  23. I know a lot of people here don't like Trudeau or Obrador, but I am also pretty sure neither of them are invading us anytime soon. 🤣
  24. Did not see a "go ahead and just take my money" topic on the first 3 pages here, so it was important I post it here. I have no idea how I am expected to save for retirement when there is this level of genius in our world.
  25. When the IHSAA President spoke in a committee hearing, he claimed that just one person in the 10 years the policy has been in place filed the documentation needed.
