  1. My absolute favorite character from the Sopranos was Paulie Walnuts. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/tony-sirico-dies-age-79-famed-sopranos-actor/ His highlights: The language thing.....goes without sayin
  2. One of the supposed hidden gems in the OU on Oklahoma’s helmets is the horns pointing downward inside the letters.
  3. NOT a fan of rocky top here. The fans sang that song after every run in the game against IU in baseball. They scored 12 runs. Ugh
  4. I was thinking after I posted, what are some fight songs from programs we hate or don’t root for that we like. That is one for me too.
  5. I hate SC, but actually like the fight song, as well as the other tune they play….no clue the name of it. That is as long as I do not have to hear either of them that often.
  6. I got to experience my first SC game a couple seasons ago. While I have been to several games, that one was unlike any other, and it was awesome, including seeing the SC band march around outside the stadium. There were a lot of SC fans around as well, so there was some solid trash talking while tailgating as well. It was a great day.
  7. I was 11 and vividly remember that game as well. What a great day for the Irish.
  8. My only guess is if FSU is in, then they and Florida only want 2 schools in from the State and not a 3rd.
  9. I had a feeling we were just seeing the tip of the iceberg. It certainly has been the most interesting Summer for college athletics in a LONG time. I figured we could consolidate it all into one topic. I feel the SEC is in an interesting spot here. While they do have the dominant teams at the top, they do not have the TV markets the B1G now has. And with just a couple teams so dominant in football, are they just adding more mediocrity to the mix?
  10. I can see the power conferences, whatever they look like in a year or two, forming their own governing body outside of the NCAA. I can also see something like Kirk Herbstreit described as far as D1 Football goes. He said there will likely be less than half the teams there are now competing on the D1 level....maybe 50-55 teams; the ones that are able to commit to a huge investment.....like Day said at osu....$13 Million a year to keep a roster together. Herbstreit also mentioned there are a number of programs who cannot even compete as far as upgrading facilities go. Those programs will fall further behind in this era.
  11. There likely is a breaking point.....just not sure what that looks like. It may be something different for each school. Back in the 20's, Fordham University was a national power in football. After a few near misses at playing in a championship game, the priests running the school decided there was too much emphasis on athletics. The concern in this current era is what schools are willing to do to try to compete. My first thought is other sports will be cut, but in so doing, they will still have to comply with Title IX. Things will be crazy for the next several years.
  12. Not sure there is a more poorly run team in the league than the Browns. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/34201889/cleveland-browns-trade-baker-mayfield-carolina-panthers-draft-pick
  13. Not according to Harrell or Almanac Sports. It is still listed on those sites as the Allen County Athletic Conference.
  14. If Day says it takes $13 Million a year to keep the roster together each year, I wonder what the cost was while this was all still under the table? I agree it looks crazy right now, but I do feel in a couple years, things will settle. There are a lot of people taking chances on kids that are not panning out. That alone will control some of what happens, especially when you consider a couple of those that did not pan out were very high profile athletes.
  15. If you click/tap on the blue bar that tracks how much has been donated, you will get a popup window to donate.
  16. I saw someone post that Washington and Oregon applied as well. Any truth to it? Not sure, but it makes sense. I agree with DT, the conference is looking to get to 20 schools. Lukewarm on Kansas. Honestly, I take OK State before them. Kansas gives you something in basketball from time to time, but the other sports lag behind.
  17. I would think they would go to the ACC. As far as the PAC 12, I think the remaining teams there and the ones left in the Big 12 will combine.
  18. I got a feeling a break from the NCAA may be coming.
  19. Not a fan at all. The only thing that makes sense is the TV market. But, these 2 teams have not really been competitive in the PAC 12; which, based on history, has not really been in the championship picture in a long time. I know national media and pollsters try to make it so, but it just does not happen.
  20. She probably would not have been arrested if she didn't suck. https://www.thatviralfeed.com/married-man--horrified--to-find-random-woman-giving-him-oral-as-he-slept/100160?utm_medium=u7476p6612&utm_source=social&utm_campaign=social&fbclid=IwAR2OLeVZldojE4rYn9nMLh7B3PH169MTBgDaL1kUiKV2_WwuV6h4iA8twzA
  21. Not the typical post to make here, but the last CMH recipient from WWII has passed.....a memory worth honoring. Rest well Corporal and thank you for your service. https://www.wishtv.com/news/last-remaining-wwii-medal-of-honor-recipient-dies-at-98/?utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook_WISH-TV&fbclid=IwAR2RVbu2g-YofAoOFW88cBsHOgX8DwnfffmwEUJyNZR3Ql_Fp1hDOaGmdYI
  22. Advertising on her open social media accounts is the start of her problems. As the reporter notes. Have the kids call her buttercup is unprofessional as well. Anyone in a similar spot should be out. You are right SF, this is a whole different ball game that being a stripper who likely was not advertising. That said, I am wondering exactly how the "concerned parent" found out.
