  1. I think they will become a thing of the past. If That school east of us and IU end up in the conference championship; odds are too high that they could play again in the playoff. In the case of the ACC, you have your highest ranked team in a spot where they could be left out of the playoff. They likely won't play in the conference championship, which will hurt them. There is also the potential (not this particular season) that teams could play each other 3 times. No matter how much money the conference titles bring in, no one involved would want that to happen. There is the risk too that a loss in a conference championship could knock a team out of the playoff completely.
  2. Defense was able to make some plays to help the offense. Offense is still inconsistent. I think it helped having to rely on other players than Jacobs. On to Detroit for Turkey Day.
  3. How did Carroll spill over to here? 😄 It's like that ending scene in Blazing Saddles when the fight ended up in the commissary 😆 Pitt knocking off GA. Tech makes things more interesting in the ACC. Miami may be the first out when the new polls come out this week. They NEED to get to the ACC Championship game, but they need a lot of help. Pitt winning tonight hurt them. Really hoping Pitt takes care of them next week.
  4. I tried loading but cannot get the file small enough. It looks bad. The WR walked to the sideline as the team was moving to the LOS from the previous play. The WR is already by the sideline with the coach as they lined up. From across the field, he looks to be out for the play.
  5. The video stream is still up on ihsaatv.org
  6. Derrick Henry is in town for the Luers Knox game to see McLaughlin play for Knox. Someone in the Nosey Neighbors page for the area got a picture with him.
  7. 4.28 40......wow
  8. I think with most players in similar spots, it depends on where they are projected. Some teams seem to be ones to avoid. 🙂
  9. You could make the case that the NFL already has an impact with the number of players that have been opting out of the postseason games in recent years. That said, the other leagues I mentioned are pretty much hands off with their players in college.
  10. I would agree. I would say the same thing about Mendoza at IU. The one thing this era of college sports has done, is give the kids coming out some leverage. Not sure if it is up to the pro leagues to do this, but hockey and baseball can draft players who still play on the collegiate level. Last I remember, MLB has a 3 year requirement for players who go the college path. The NHL retains the rights to a player for 4 years. If a player stays all 4 years, they can renegotiate, or a team can release them to be a free agent.
  11. Prayers to Bryce's family. The story of the young man whose liver was transplanted to Kosar. https://fox8.com/news/he-just-touched-a-lot-of-lives-mother-of-man-who-donated-liver-to-bernie-kosar-speaks-to-i-team/?fbclid=IwY2xjawOJ2e1leHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETFMdk9pbEZheDZSUE5YbEZFc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIyMDM5MTc4ODIwMDg5MgABHlw4d-f2ifnPqvHVJQvG4Ci7ZmjbB8I6ILdpuywfY4oI7FpBbvVvdNC9Qxpy_aem__eq_-hQc8JEmBaAvTZdD_Q
  12. I have been following this for a few months now. Have to admit it seemed pretty grim. But he went in for surgery at 5am and posted this around 2:45 today. It's been inspiring to see him remain so positive though the whole ordeal. Continued prayers through recovery Bernie.
  13. This is incredible. An innovative way to take care of the grass that Real Madrid plays on. 120 feet below the surface is a system to move other surfaces to the top; like a grass field for the Dolphins and Commanders game. So, while this field is on the surface, the RM pitch is below in a greenhouse that also includes and autmated cutting system. The grass on the fields has also been developed. Another flooring option includes a hard surface to host concerts. Far more advanced that the system in Arizona where the Cardinals field can be rolled out of the stadium to get plenty of natural sunlight since the stadium is enclosed.
  14. A win is a win, but geeez. Sooooo many dropped passes. Even the DBs were dropping the ball on potential INTs. Defense could not stop a thing all day, and comes up with 2 big plays late, a pick in the end zone to stop a drive, and a huge hit on Winston to end the game.
  15. Speaking of SoS
  16. Not sports related, but this type of thing fascinates me. Anyone catch the northern lights last night? At some point, they were visible from anywhere in the State. Tonight is supposed to be more intense. It's the first time I was able to see anything with just my eyes and not needing to use my phone.
  17. Saleh and LaFleur were GA's at Western Michigan when Kelly was the head coach. He hosted a party for friends and staff. Saleh and LaFleur got invitations, so they show up. Kelly meets them at the door and says oh no, you're not invited to the party. You are here to park cars for the guests. Both of them promised each other if they were ever head coaches, they would never treat anyone on staff or their GA's like that.
  18. MLF was on that staff too and had to park cars. I knew Salem was but had not heard that Shanahan was there.
  19. If Georgia Tech wins out including the ACC Championship, they are in the playoff. I think the same goes for Virginia. Pitt has to win out to even have a chance; which makes their game Saturday an interesting one.
  20. I was mistaken thinking the power 4 had guaranteed spots for their conference champions. The ACC could be in trouble. Miami is the highest ranked team at 15. But they need a LOT of help just to play for a conference championship. Current ACC Rankings:
  21. Same story different game. The one visual stuck in my head is LaFleur marking up his call sheet during the game. I am not sure he can give up being a coordinator, but it just showed he certainly is not a head coach. Nowlin said it best that each game is independent of the previous games. But I now think there is an exception to that. The key for that theory has to include a team that wins. Performance after a win is independent of that win. But when a team is struggling and not winning games, then I do believe there is a connection from one week to the next. What I cannot figure out is if Love is over confident and non chalant (sloppy) because of it, of if he is lacking confidence and forcing things to try and make a play. Regardless, I think he is regressing. A huge part of that is on LaFleur. His play calling has not adapted to the guys that are injured and not in there playing.
  22. 🤣
  23. Another issue with conference title games, is the number of potential rematches in the playoff. This season it's shaping up to be IU and Ohio State, A&M and Alabama. I mentioned it a couple years ago, but there is also the potential of teams meeting 3 times in one season. It won't happen this year, but it is a possibility.
  24. RIP
