  1. Saw this earlier today. Pretty impressive. Ohio State and Oregon gave up a total of 25 sacks this year combined. Of the 25 sacks, 11 came against Indiana. That’s 44%. Indiana was responsible for 5/11 Ohio State sacks allowed and 6/14 Oregon sacks allowed.
  2. Likely the last year we see non playoff bowl games.
  3. That was a modification though….in the original agreement, which it appears, the committee expected to be in place for multiple years.
  4. Just like the TD catch by the Ravens WR. Not sure how that gets ruled incomplete.
  5. Except every conference commissioner agreed to it, just like Swarbick agreed to the initial setup knowing they can never be higher than a 5 seed.
  6. Cannot like this post enough. Absolutely spot on.
  7. BYU keeps coming up as being left out. Sure they lost just two games. Sure it was to the same team. What people are not mentioning is that BYU got SMOKED in both. They scored just 7 in each game, and in the two games, gave up 63 points.
  8. Orlovsky made the comment that of the last 16 conference championship games in the NCAA, 15 times, the loser dropped at least one spot. The one team that did not….Alabama this year.
  9. Not my point at all. And I am fully aware the ACC would get nothing for that. I am talking about regular season games. Playing the Irish does a lot of good for the ACC teams they play each season as well as the conference.
  10. Promote your own member, but the conference and their members make a boatload off of playing the Irish. Don’t bite the hand that feeds you.
  11. Ok, but it’s the combination of what ESPN and the ACC did. They played the ND Miami game on loop all weekend on the ACC Network, an ESPN owned network.
  12. I am not really bitching about the playoff here. They let the A&M game get away. I said after that game they would struggle to get back to a playoff spot. My point is ESPN and the other players in lobbying efforts now want them to play in a bowl game they make money on? Every announcer was talking about Notre Dame not belonging. It was only after the fact that Nick Saban said they deserved to be in. But again, the point of my post was there is plenty of reasons to not play the bowl game. I said it two seasons ago, the bowl games will become a thing of the past in the current playoff format, a format that will expand next season taking at least 4 more teams out of a pool of potential teams.
  13. Missed the point I see. They had to have 5 conference champions in. The ACC screws themselves with their conference schedule and they find out their only real chance to get a playoff team is with Miami, and make Notre Dame the target to be excluded.
  14. Just learning too, the ACC Network played the ND Miami game on loop all weekend. Who owns the ACC network? Look for a change with Notre Dame’s relationship with the ACC. I am not sure there has ever been such a lobbying effort from so many angles to keep a team out of the playoff.
  15. I have come to agree with this…but, when it comes to losing, there is carryover. This team has lost 4 of the last 5. They go from the number 1 seed in the AFC and looking elite, to looking like complete dog shit.
  16. Yes it is about the money. Here is a different take. The bowl game would be shown on what network? The same network that owns the SEC network. The same network that was a major player in a push to keep you out of the playoff. The network that would benefit financially from having the top program not in the playoff in a bowl game shown on their network.
  17. Wow......another classic game in the rivalry, but damn. The Packers defense was on the field too long in the 2nd half. 3 scoring drives by the Bears and after each, Packers score in one play, go 3 and out and then finally get one drive to score to take the lead. Got lucky at the end. Good job being ready for the boot, but if the Bears run straight ahead, they likely get the first. Spike the ball and you have 3 plays to score.
  18. Very few QBs in the NFL have ever or ever could make those.
  19. While there is a lot of truth to what you have been saying; your bias does show as well. 😄 But if you get free pop tarts for life, I would be all in, or at least a year.
  20. To be fair, when they did tie themselves to the conference, Florida State had just won anational championship, and was in the first playoff losing in a semifinal. Clemson lost in the championship the next year, and won it the next year, and lost in a semifinal the following year. They won another championship in 2018 and lost the next year in the championship. I am not so sure anyway saw the conference falling to the point it has now. Just like Notre Dame's schedule. A number of match ups were set several years ago, when teams have been better than they are now.
  21. This is a team that looks like it just wants the season to end ASAP. I know guys are hurt, but damn; just no heart in them today. And they now are paying the heavy price of not shutting Jones down earlier in the season and letting him. They have the toughest schedule in the league remaining. Having Jones healthy would have been critical for the stretch run.
  22. And now this: Could change some minds of programs that needs some cash. https://apnews.com/article/iowa-state-cyclones-bowl-ca4cf61945e63ffac1067f8fd29ff0ca
  23. Notre Dame made $20 Million last year from making the playoff. $4 Million: For qualifying for the 12-team playoff. $4 Million: For advancing to the quarterfinals (a first-round home win). $6 Million: For reaching the semifinals (upsetting Georgia). $6 Million: For playing in the national championship game (losing to Ohio State) Every other program had to share what they earned with their conference. I said it before the championship last year, that the payoff for remaining independent was huge. If nothing changes, they will still be in the conversation for the next couple years as far as being a playoff team. Does missing out really provide enough impetus to joing a conference?
  24. Nah....makes them more defiant. The change needs to happen with the Group of 5 guarantees. Tulane and James Madison have no business in this thing.
  25. If you get your ass handed to you in that game? Yep Ask Virginia that same question
