  1. The buzz is that Ballard wanted someone else, but Irsay went with his guy Saturday.
  2. Saw a post from a Tampa news site; WAY too many ads, so I won't make you suffer through it, but Allen's name has come up on a list of candidates at USF. Maybe a good move for all? Kinda like Bo Pellini or even Gerry Faust way back when; move toi a smaller scale program and have decent success.
  3. Hard to tell though if it is the REAL Godzilla, or Bobcat Goldthwaite in a costume.
  4. Had an exchange with someone on a fan page. Me: Honestly, I think 12 is calling the shots; not only going for it, but on play calls. He wants to believe he is still the player he was 10 years ago. MLF is letting him. And the fact that it is so obvious he and the receivers are not on the same page is a huge issue. other fan: Nice fanfiction. Rodgers wouldnt be calling plays where only watkins is running a route and everyone else is setting up blocks. Me stating the OBVIOUS: Nice fanfiction. Rodgers wouldnt be calling plays where only watkins is running a route and everyone else is setting up blocks. 🤣 at it being completely obvious that a run play WAS called.
  5. Thinking Rodgers and LaFleur need a lesson in coaching and seeing a bigger picture 1st & goal - Lions 5 yard line - 0 points 1st & goal - Lions 1 yard line - 0 points 1st & 10 - Lions 23 yard line - 0 points 1st & 10 - Lions 14 yard line - 3 points 1st & 10 - Lions 17 yard line - 0 points
  6. Brutal The most telling point in this one; and it's the first time I have heard that he has said this; But Rodgers said he wants to be THE guy here; or something to that effect. So, he wants to be THE playmaker. What I hear is he wants to throw the team to wins. he still thinks he can do that. And it appears that LaFleur is ok with it. This team is different though. Rodgers is STILL not on the same page as his receivers. Based on his comment, he is the one responsible for the lack of carries for Jones and Dillion. They could not run the ball today when they tried. Rodgers did look good at times, but 2 picks in the end zone were killers. The 3rd pick was bad too. Defense did enough to allow them to win. Bad penalties hurt, but they still had chances to win. So Rodgers has 2 more years on his current contract. And with LaFleur showing that Rodgers runs this team; it's going to be a long couple years.
  7. The Irish defense has been great; special teams have been great. Offense has been ok. They get some good drives going, but then get away from what is moving the ball so well, and the drives stall. Defense and special teams setting up scores is HUGE.
  8. When you think this could not get any worse.......it does.
  9. We will take any donation. If you want to share the benefit of being a booster with someone else, that is fine.
  10. More fun.....sometimes all you can do is laugh
  11. If UT takes care of business though, I think it opens the door for the loser of the UM/osu game. And, if the Irish beat Clemson, even more so. This could be a time when SOS could finally keep UGA out of the picture; because it is a weak schedule.
  12. I am surprised this has not been more of an issue at the big house. Seems like an awful tight space for both teams, and nowhere near enough measures in place to prevent this. This video gives the best view of the MSU player......hopefully arrested and former player wailing on a UM player with his helmet. Thankfully he never made contact with the player's head. But harbaugh said there were 2 incidents, but this is the only one that comes up. I saw too that there was an issue from the Penn State game. Notre Dame has had issues in their tunnel in the past. I am not sure when, but they actually cut into the stands for an alternate way in and out for the visiting team. Seeing that the ND stadium is a smaller version of the big house, will that be an off season project? https://ftw.usatoday.com/lists/espn-abc-tunnel-cam-video-footage-michigan-state-fight-reaction-jacoby-windmon?fbclid=IwAR3psR95l-M9kmV9399MPNc4vMW8L-DiuSqT6d7oyf_eZgQwUbClH-_Zju8
  13. I was hoping Green Bay would get him. I have been a fan since he became a starter at Notre Dame. Not so much now that he is a Bear though. 😄 https://www.nfl.com/news/steelers-trading-wr-chase-claypool-to-bears-for-2023-second-round-pick
  14. Looks like the Lions are sellers too. In my mind, it seems too shortsighted by them. Hock is the kind of guy you build around. Great team guy, great receiver, and solid run blocker. https://www.nfl.com/news/lions-trading-te-t-j-hockenson-to-vikings-for-draft-picks
  15. I think this is a given. I know I chuckled just seeing you started the topic, and was fully prepared for something off the hook that makes PERFECT sense.
  16. Seems like every team in Chicago is being run the same way. I guess it's the Sox turn to start unloading? The Blackhawks and the Cubs sure have been....and it has been painful to watch.
  17. Eagles are running away with the NFC with 7 wins now. While the Vikings are right behind at 6-1. Game 1 was a game Green Bay could have won, and we see how bad they are. I am just not sold on them yet. They lead a bad division, something that Green Bay was able to do often. There are still 6 teams with 3 wins in the NFC, and 2 more with fewer wins. There were 11 teams 2 weeks ago with 3 wins, so only 5 teams have moved off of that lol. What is funny to see is that the Commanders are in last in their division at 4-4 and Atlanta is 1st in their division at 4-4 lol. The Niners are the only other 4 win team in the NFC. In the AFC, I think the Bills are on a mission. There are 5 teams with 5 wins. KC may be the best in that group, but man, that loss to the Colts jumps out. 3 teams have 4 wins. There are 7 teams with 3 wins or less. As I have stated, just a lot of average to below average play this season. I like the Bills. Allen is a great competitor. The fan base is every bit as loyal as say Green Bay fans 🙂 ok, Bears fans too. lol I would not be upset at all to see them win the Super Bowl.
  18. Seems like that will be a crowded field this year
  19. wow https://www.nfl.com/news/bears-trade-lb-roquan-smith-to-ravens-for-draft-picks
  20. Another consideration is the offense could still score even with the penalty, so then the penalty is marked off on the next timed play.
  21. Problem is, if I remember right, a live ball penalty like those 2 keeps the down the same. So, one of those on 1st down and the penalty is half the distance, but still 1st down. The other risk you run is if it appears in anyway to be intentional, there could be additional consequences, like the ejection of a player or even a coach.
  22. I agree.....in fact I think even LaFleur gives him too much leeway. As the head coach, you cannot keep saying week after week we need to give Aaron Jones more carries and then give him fewer. Either he is not calling run plays, or he gives 12 way too much leeway to kill plays and call his own. LaFleur reminds me of a few coaches I have known who were "system guys". They know a system of offense. A system has rules against a 4 man front, a 3 man front, 2 high safeties, or single safety, etc. It does not take into account that a team might have Nick Bosa, or a lockdown corner, or a safety that has the ability to break on a ball like several the Packers have seen. The system says, if we see this, then this play works. And it just does not look like he ever makes any adjustments, just sticks to the system. Rodgers does not have time to throw, but route combos are still deep, and the safety valve is wide right or left when there is no one covering the middle of the field. They rarely stick with what works. Last week, they score a TD with a nice middle screen. No one saw it coming. They did not run it the rest of the game. Against the 9ers, I sat in an end zone. I know 12 saw 2 high safeties, but I am telling you, there were so many times Deguara ran up the hashes and was wide ass open, but did not even get a look. I think they threw one ball to him that whole game.
