  1. From firsthand knowledge, the ball has to touch the ground first. It is indeed Kick Catch Interference.
  2. They may be screaming mercy if that unfolds knowing who they may play there. 🤣
  3. I know coaches have that now, but also knwi it has not always been followed. If a coach has to justify why, then I can see it, but the justification would have to be significant. Giving them that leverage without requiring an explanation is unfair.
  4. Not really, just kinda cool to see how that came togather.
  5. I found this interesting. The Chargers have played inspired football this season after suddenly losing a teammate during the off season. Best of luck to both teams, but being in the area, I am rooting for the Chargers. Regardless of the outcome, emotions will be high
  6. I do think one thing that remains is to have coaches and AD's check for conflicts of interest....if they know an official, or if they know an opponet's coach or assistant coaches know of a possible concern.
  7. To clarify, the field width for HS is 53 and 1/3 yards. The distance between the hashes is 40 feet. And the distance from the hashes to the sidelines is 60 feet.
  8. Cathedral played there as well; in 07 we beat LaSalle 7-6, but our kicked doinked 3 FG attempts off the uprights......would have been good on a HS field.
  9. Yes they do still toast that moment every year https://www.foxnews.com/sports/nfl-legend-larry-csonka-toasts-commanders-ending-eagles-perfect-season-washington-fan-tonight
  10. Pretty cool to see….well, except if the school you are a part of or root for is on the wrong side of that list that is.
  11. I am willing to bet most people would prefer that as well. The fact is it has been a LONG time since I have see a nice grass surface. In fact, in 30 years of coaching, I can likely count on one hand the number of nice grass fields I have seen.
  12. This is a pretty good explanation of the difference in types of turf used. https://pioneerathletics.com/blog/basic-guide-to-synthetic-turf-part-2
  13. Posting here as there are a number of games on the LOS field. My guess is looking at 5 of these, the issue is the fields are not permanent installs. The regular pulling up and putting down may have an impact. https://www.yahoo.com/news/nflpa-calls-6-venues-improve-233031906.html
  14. I am curious if there is a playoff game if a visiting team can challenge a site being used based on this. Also, confoirmed from someone at the IHSAA that they indeed widen the posts at LOS for high school games.
  15. I willing to bet they change them. I know for certain they changed them at the dome. We practiced there when they were just finishing tightening the bolt for crossbar. The other thing is imagine an attempted FG for a chance to win a title that hits the uprights. I am also willing to bet the IHSAA considered that same thing and made it a must have for any HS game.
  16. That was a different Packers team. I was expecting the worst, and they kept themselves in the game. Rodgers to Watson was fun to watch. Overall, the offense played well. There were still some misses, in the run and the pass game. I think we are seeing a growing issue between MLF and 12. It was not the first time we saw Rodgers bitch at the head coach, and likely won't be the last. This late in the relationship, I am not sure much can be done to repair it. LaFleur may try, but once Rodgers cuts someone off, I don't believe he looks back. I will be curious to see how the team responds to a big win like this.
  17. The Vikings Bills game was the best game of the season by far. So many incredible plays made by guys on both teams. I am willing to concede the Vikings are pretty good at this point.
  18. I think it's a natural progression of what I mentioned earlier; MLF let 12 get away too much, never really challenged him on anything he did or said. In some sense, I get it to an extent, but you are still the head coach. Now, 12 has decided it's all on him for the team to succeed. Far too often, he is talking about people not doing their jobs, but never says anything like 'myself included'. D Coordinators have figured out how to stop them, like they always do to systems that don't change much in 4 years.
  19. I think not lol Just something about him seems to be off. It did bring to mind another thought. I Think LaFleur's system is geared toward Rodgers' ability and skill set. I am not sure another QB can just be plugged into the system. LafLeur and Rodgers are tied to each other too much, and if anything happens to either one, or if there is some wedge driven between them, things get much worse than they are.
  20. or as many from Indiana say, the RILL DILL 😄
  21. I get the other stuff. BUT, what this tells me is you saw the name and the face on the video and jumped to a conclusion without even watching the video or hearing exactly what he said. Agaoin, in that voideo there is not even a hinty of race mentioned.
  22. Completely ridiculous assumption on your part. Absolutely no mention or even a HINT of race in his coments.
  23. Not sure what you mean; but if Irsay's intent was to name one of the fans' favorite players to generate some level of excitement, he had one of them on staff already. Reggie at least has something invested in the current team. I am a HUGE Jeff Saturday fan, and I hope he can generate some excitement. But he has nothing invested in this current team.
