  1. I wonder why my mind remembers a sausage at Eastbrook...was that somewhere else? It must have been a ribeye. The games were blowouts, so I don't remember much....:( I found this nugget: They changed from Ribeye to a Strip Steak for the sandwich this year. Excellent fare for a high school football game.
  2. I need to reread the articles and take it all in. Since I'm a fan and teacher at small schools, I've been to many of the smaller schools in the area. If I'm going off of fatboy food, but my favorite is Eastbrook sausage, Woodlan donuts, and I think Goshen High School was very good. Now that I'm on a super diet, I try to stay away from those things. 🙂

  5. New kid on the block. https://outsidethehuddle.net/2020/05/05/oth-football-field-countdown-no-3-shields-field/
  6. https://outsidethehuddle.net/2020/05/04/oth-football-field-countdown-no-4-hornet-field/ I've seen half a dozen or so games here. Very beautiful place.
  7. https://outsidethehuddle.net/2020/05/03/oth-football-field-countdown-no-5-leo-lions-field/ No Dr. Brown quotes?
  8. One of the best "Spanish" minds in the game. 🙂
  9. https://outsidethehuddle.net/2020/05/02/oth-football-field-countdown-no-6-dean-gorsuch-athletic-facility/ Great field. The team should be getting better. The stadium is getting an upgrade soon. https://wpta21.com/2020/03/17/carroll-begins-23-million-facility-upgrades-including-new-football-stadium/
  10. Terrific Place https://outsidethehuddle.net/2020/05/01/oth-football-field-countdown-no-7-memorial-field/
  11. You're right. Spuller isn't that bad. I What I don't like are early season games where the cement releases the heat. If you park by the buses, there is a ticket booth over there...at least the last time I parked by the busses. I spelled it both ways! The bathrooms are good. The concessions are good for both schools. The bands are good! If Yucca is refereeing, he'll pull for the underdog! Yes, don't be a Dodger crowd or you miss the first half. Luers usually gets drilled by Snider and plays Northrop closely.
  12. When I taught up in LaGrange county, there was a kid there named Fenway Park.
  13. Yes, I love both places. Sounds like a few places in Washington D.C, too. I'll just keep spewing opinions. As we see with DT, media people, at least some, are a special breed! 🙂
  14. Still not sure how it's number 9 around here! If Spuller and Wayne are up there...NOPE! 🙂 Or Carroll...nice field, but that stadium is a mismatch.
  15. https://outsidethehuddle.net/2020/04/30/oth-football-field-countdown-no-8-minnich-field/ I've seen some really good games down there.
  16. Nope, shows head coach Shawn Kimmell, East Noble Basketball, you have to scroll down a little.
  17. I linked to the main page for some odd reason. I can not edit. 😱. Tomorrow, it will show #7 first. No way in heck Homestead is #9.
  18. I've never had trouble parking either. There's a decent sized shopping center and a gate on the other side. The retention pond makes it a little bit of a walk, but not that bad. Heck, I had a much harder time parking at Chatard and Hobart. I think I park farther at Eastside to the visitor stands than I do at Kroger Southgate.

  20. Hmmm? Maybe I just get there early or I know where to park. The restrooms are not the best, but they did add some portables near to the stadium. I've not heard a complaint about the concessions. There's been a track there since it was built, it used to be cinder, but it's been a real track for many, many years. When's the last time you've been there?
  21. https://outsidethehuddle.net/2020/04/28/oth-football-field-countdown-10-luersfield/ Enjoy this comment (rings a bell): Northrop coach/former player Jason Doerffler: The playing surface has improved greatly the past few years. When I played, it always seemed to be wet and the grass was real long. But when we visited last year it was in great shape.
  22. From what I read on Yappi, which has been a few days ago, the OHSAA was denying it. I'll go and take a look again.
  23. Manchester is a great place to teach, that is for sure. We're far apart, I don't know him, but everyone that I've talked to is excited that he is coming back.
  24. Very good points. Great article.
