  1. You can take some history courses, too. Of course, you might want to take them at a private university. Nobody's work is diminished. He does very good things and doesn't horde his ideas, nor his wealth, so it seems. My parents never told me the world wasn't fair. They told me to do the best I can, visit the world, do what I would like to do, be kind, and to be respectful....among other things. Absolutely, one should choose. But in a capitalistic society, one has to play within the capitalistic rules set up by that government. Some say China is communist, some say socialist, some say fascist, but there is a lot of capitalism happening in their ranks. I think large churches are communist or socialist, but you don't see their members saying that, but when members need help, the churches shut their doors more often than not. Small, local churches help until it hurts. Simple observations. As usual, we're more alike than we're different, we just have different ways of perceiving things and communicating. i'm not deriding as much as stating that they are controlling/monopolistic, the antithesis of capitalism. From living in Latin America, I can tell you that from my experience and perspective, the racism, sexism, classism, and other isms are worse. I'm not sure about Asia, but here that they could be.
  2. I'm thinking more of the generational wealthy and royalty and the large churches of the world. I am by no means putting anyone down who works hard. I know a few-- trust fund babies who work very hard. Simply ignore.
  3. Nope, I've studied it extensively. They often inherited it or were in the right place at the right time. I'm not demanding they share anything with me. I'm telling you that very few families, and even churches, have controlled the world for a long time. It's changing slowly, but surely. As the white population shrinks across the world, things will change tremendously. I'm not asking you to believe me, but you can certainly research it from good, sound institutions, not places with an agenda. I suppose I'm thinking power/wealth together.
  4. Nope, not you! I need to make sure I get my quotes in correctly. The science is fairly clear. You can be what you want to be.
  5. I'm not sold on too much of that. The fault often lies on the fact that a few families accumulate wealth and make it difficult for the rest of us. Evolution isn't as exact as you two are making it out, but you'd have to explore that more. As usual, we're all human and investigate and buy into what pleases us at whatever place in life we happen to be.
  6. The lack of social mobility has a lot to do with it, but you can look at it how you'd like. You can see this, positively and negatively, in societies the world over. Survival of the fittest, more like learning to be the best, or at least better than the next person.
  7. Interesting. What ism do you want? capitalism, socialism, communism, fascism
  8. As a person who has taught in 3 different countries, my perspective is if you remove the government, the poor will suffer even more than they do now. I do think schools should be governed, but as locally as possible.
  9. You don't see many nuns in the Catholic schools anymore. The church has a lot of money, you'd think they'd do better. I know the church has a rich tradition and lots of rules, but I was turned down for a job because of something someone else did. That's crazy!!!! Just opinions.
  10. If you ever would like to see a country that would be severely mismanaged by the haves and woefully unrepresented by the have nots, you'd have this in your case Mr. Muda69.
  11. Call me cynical, but I expect Carroll to find some way to lose. North Side to lose it due to just losing their cool at times. Snider will right ship, but need to get control of the sloppiness that comes in big games (rarely saw that with Isaacs or Hawley). Luers just doesn't have it and if you listen to rumors then the coaching may be changed in the near future (the senior QB would have won the Eastside game simply running the ball many whisper). Wayne has a new coach and might take a little bit to get the offense going...need to see who he brings in to coach. They lost nearly everyone last year, so don't know what the hype was. South not sure. Homestead will be good. Dwenger will have new offensive and defensive coordinators, so there's that. Northrop played well at times, but lots of behavior issues in the school and better athletes walking around than on the field. Concordia is due to get better. Ah, the question at hand...Elkhart should get on par with the new Penn. My little ones from Mary Beck will be entering high school soon and they'll be good. 🙂
  12. People will pick and choose what pertains. I think it pertains, but I'm a male teacher and I have to keep doors open, watch for people's perceptions, and make wise choices because of things administrators do...although I've been called out on here that administrators making the wrong decisions are rare. I've had enough administrators to know that they many do what they can get away with.
  13. I don't think you have to walk a mile, but I'm not a Dodger, err Dwenger fan. Hmm, different perspective I guess. I think the stands are unfriendly, ugly, and the big bear is not friendly to the Panthers. I don't think Zollner is anything special. I like Homestead and Carroll is just big now, but will be nice. North and South are just there. Luers is different to me because I grew up there, so don't know how bad it is, I guess. 🙂
  14. Am I the only one who has heard that he is a multimillionaire, maybe only a rumor, and doesn't need a scholarship?

  16. Interesting, isn't it? There's an interesting thread on another forum here on proper dress. We as humans are stuck in the past at times.
  17. This would have been long ago. A little sleuthing should show an oddity in the coaching reign. Even a state championship year oddity.
  18. I wish it was far more an exemption than what I've seen from working in schools. I do.
  19. One of the old Bremen coaches was arrested for smoking pot. Another example of crookedness looking out for sports:
  20. The part about a coach not getting the job done. If you're at New Haven, you're far more qualified than I am. I left EACS long ago. I can only look at the talent and the W-L.
  21. Of course, because I think the new coach has a good track record. I have no idea who else applied. His teams were fun to watch at two different places. Strictly as a fan. I'd hate to ask the same thing of the Bulldogs. Looks rude.
