  1. Congrats to East! I knew all my bold picks wouldn’t be right but I had a gut feeling about East.
  2. Oh you definitely did. If I had more time on my hands, I’d go dig for the post.
  3. No. Coach McDonald was analyzing the team and not using “coach speak.” Actually I said, “if FC could upset Elder.” Didn’t say they would compete. I’ve been watching Football over here for 30 years and this is the best offense I’ve ever seen at Floyd Central. They can throw the ball all around the field. Our defense is ok. But I guess we will find out a lot more about these guys next week. It seems you are still upset about last season. When you basically guaranteed that BNL was going to beat FC in the Sectional, only to get ran over in Weigleb Stadium. I’ve been pretty complimentary of BNL over the years though.
  4. I told you this would happen. Gaddis didn’t forget to coach in 1 off-season. Lol. Y’all will be great this year.
  5. Floyd Central over Providence 42-0. Another great game for Tristan Polk and Kaleb Quenichet. Looks like I was right about East and way off about BNL. I hate that. Would really like to see BNL be good.
  6. From the mouth of former Louisville Male DC and new Providence Head Coach Dan McDonald. They’re a very talented football team. You watch their film and there’s talent everywhere. The quarterback, running back and their big offensive lineman get a lot of credit, deservingly so, but they have several other players with big-time talent. You watch their defensive line on film, and those guys flat get off the ball. Their linebackers play downhill aggressively and they’re solid tacklers,” McDonald said. “I think had they played Male last week, it would have been a very interesting game. That’s not intended to be a knock on Male, either. FC has a ton of talent on the field. This is the most talented team they’ve had in four years.” (I’m a homer though.) Good luck to all HHC teams tonight!
  7. I never really pick us to beat East. But usually being the 2nd best team in the conference, if we can’t challenge them, then who could?
  8. Haha. Man we are known for being a pretty friendly and hospitable fanbase. I’ve been to every football and basketball venue in the HHC and I’ve never had an issue. I’m pretty complimentary of my school, all the other schools, and all coaching staffs. Because I believe we “might” be able to hang around with 1 or 2 of the better teams on the schedule, doesn’t make me an asshole. Sorry, not sorry.
  9. I will never apologize to any of you, for being an optimistic fan. It beats the alternative.
  10. Being a fan of your school isnt “homerism.” What exactly have I said that was unrealistic or outlandish? Nothing. Notta. I have no idea man? I’ve never seen them play a game and I have no idea what their current team looks like. I do know that Peyton Ramsey’s brother is their QB and that’s probably not good for their opponents if he’s anything like his brother.
  11. I was talking about Impartial Observer. That guy has always had it out for me. I’m not expecting FC to win at Elder. I’ve heard they are a little down so I’m hoping for a competitive game. I haven’t said anything ridiculous.
  12. I haven’t heard much about that. Coach Bragg said it was a mutual decision to part ways.
  13. I’m not exactly sure what I said that was so wrong? I said “possibly upset Elder.” Everything is a possibility. Is it likely? I mean if the chances are 0 then they should keep the busses parked next week. You either hate me or you hate FC. Because your take is horrible. I am well aware of who Cincinnati Elder is and their Head Coach Doug Ramsey.
  14. You might be correct. That’s why I used the word “upset.” Elder is a powerhouse no doubt. But I’ve heard from some people that they’re “down” this year. It’s a tough challenge definitely. It would be one of the best wins in our schools history.
  15. FC is ranked #7 in 5A now. Assuming they can beat Providence and NA, and possibly upset Cincinnati Elder next week. I wonder how high they could be ranked coming into the game at home vs East? Could that possibly be the most hyped up game that East has had vs a HHC team since 2006? I’m still not sure how FC would matchup with them, but hype wise, it could be large. It’s a shame we can’t pack the stadium with FC and East fans.
  16. Jeffersonville is SOOO down right now. They lost their starting QB before the season. Their defense offered a little bit of resistance against Wenkers Wright. But their offense is a mess. They looked way out of sync. I just felt the Owls would win at home. One thing you can always say about Seymour, is that they will play their ***es off.
  17. This weeks matchups. Jeffersonville vs Seymour- I like the Owls in this one at home. Jeffersonville is pretty bad and we know Seymour will at least play hard. Seymour by a score of 21-7. BNL vs Bloomington North-My upset pick of the week. I like coach Weber and I feel like BNL gets a signature win at home every year. This will be the one. Stars by a score of 27-21. East vs North-This is a big one. I think East gets back on track and gets McDonald going in this game. East scores with 30 seconds left to take the lead. East wins by a score of 21-14. South Dearborn vs Madison-SD put almost 40 on Seymour. I’m cheering for Madison but I’m going with SD by a score of 35-21. Jennings County vs Brown County-Brown County is 1-0. I don’t think either team is good but Brown County probably wins this one. BC by a score of 28-14. New Albany vs Eastern Hancock-Trap game for NA. Playing at Eastern Hancock the #13 team in 2A. EH is no slouch. They won their conference last year. The Dogs look very much improved and I think they get this one in a nail biter. NA by a score of 34-28. Floyd Central vs Providence-The last matchup between what used to be a Heated Rivalry. The Highlanders are at home. I predict a big game from Tristan Polk and Floyds very solid defense. Highlanders roll here 42-14.
  18. I think it’s both. Yes Tristan Polk, Wenkers Wright, and Zen Michalski are very athletic, very talented, and very HARD WORKING, kids. But coach Bragg is a really good Head Coach. And looking at the guys he has on staff, I’d say they’re pretty good themselves. It takes coaching, talent, and hard work, to win football games. That formula hasn’t changed in 50 years.
  19. Floyd Central was awful in basketball for like 15 years and hired Todd Sturgeon and now they have a top 10 program in the state. They had a decent football program under Brian Glesing but I think they’re going to another level under coach Bragg and his staff. Coaching matters as long as the kids will listen to it. We have good kids at FC. They have good kids in Columbus.
  20. I wish him the best of luck. Good man. Hall of Fame Coaches are Hall of Fame Coaches for a reason.
  21. Yeah. Poor guy. Coaching with Lymphoma is probably not fun. He definitely has my respect for that and for the overall job he did at FC.
  22. Oh wow. I hadn’t heard that. Not sure what that is all about?
  23. Because Paoli is a good 2A program coached by Brian Glesing and Madison lost by 1. I feel Madison can beat the teams in the HHC not named East, FC, and NA.
  24. My updated power rankings. 1. East 2. Floyd 3. NA 4. Madison 5. BNL 6. Seymour 7. Jeffersonville 8. Jennings County
