I wasn’t really participating. I just like analyze football. I wouldn’t be “shocked” if Floyd Central won tonight. But to be honest, recent history isn’t on their side. So I take no offense to anyone who views this game as a win for East. It’s up to Floyd Centrals program to change that narrative.

He wasn’t ejected. He had 2 Unsportsmanlike penalties called on him. I think that changes things? I’ll let you answer this.

I know who you are. Lol. If I get the chance, I’ll talk to you. He’s playing on a team that has 0 wins and I imagine that he’s probably pretty frustrated. I get it.

I hope you’re right! It’ll take a heck of a performance to beat East though.

I’m not aiming this at Floyd Central. I just see it a lot in HS and Collegiate sports.

You mean all your hires don’t have to be internal? And no, this comment has nothing to do with the Head Coach at Floyd Central. Just an observation.

I’m actually looking forward to East/Floyd Central. We played 2 teams well above our level(Male, Manual.) 2 teams a little below our level(SC, Jeffersonville.) And one team that matches up evenly(Seymour.) East is a better team than Seymour. But not close to the level of the Louisville schools. I expect if there were a line, East would be favored by 14-21 pts. Something like that. So this is an opportunity to see if our guys can finally matchup with them physically. We haven’t been able to do that the last several meetings. We should be getting some guys back this week from injury, hopefully. I liked how hard they played in the 2nd half against Jeffersonville. Hopefully they’ll bring that kind of effort on Friday.

Floyd Central played a solid 2nd half. Their defense locked up Jeffersonvilles offense and they did a good job of ground and pound running. Tough game next week.

Some good news. Over at Floyd Central, the Highlanders have been without junior running back Mitch Bernardi since their season-opening loss to Louisville Male. Bernardi, the team’s top rusher last season, has been sidelined by a back injury the past three weeks. “We’re just trying to keep our head above water,” said Bragg, whose team was without 13 players, due to injuries and/or suspensions, in last Friday’s last-second loss to Seymour. Bernardi could return this Friday night again

That should never happen. The blame doesn’t fall on one coach or one player. They lost that as a team. I believe coach Hess when he says it was Cover 4. He knows their scheme and playbook 100 times better then I do. But I thought it was Cover 2 because of the alignment and type of back pedal. I do know the difference. But looking back, the players may not have executed properly. It’s a teaching moment.

I apologize for harsh criticism against coach Bragg, who I believe is a quality person. I was just extremely frustrated about last Fridays game. But there was a lack of execution by players in the Secondary and hopefully they’ll get it corrected. We have talent. Maybe not top tier talent, but enough to be competitive. I’m not an advocate of changing Head Coaches. I just want the current HC to get this thing going. I’m always behind the team.

I don’t agree with Floyd Central being a “country club school.” They’re obviously not a Football school. But they’re solid in basketball. Solid in Baseball. They’ve been ranked #1 a few times recently in Baseball. Excellent Wrestling program. State Champion Wrestler recently. Obviously very good in Swimming, Track, and all the Country Club sports. Football is an issue. It’s not all on Coach Bragg. But that team has enough talent to be beating teams like Seymour.

Let me ask you a question? What in the hell is their thought process about playing top 5 programs in the state of Kentucky? Male. Manual. St X, next season. Who in their right mind thinks that losing 42-7 every season is “making your team better.” Going 3 and out every possession isn’t allowing yourself to develop your offense. It might help your defense by exposing things, but this teams confidence gets shattered right out of the gate. I get that small schools won’t play them. But New Albany and Jeffersonville play tough teams without them being teams that will be impossible for Floyd Central to ever have a fighting chance against. You don’t know me. And you obviously don’t like me very much. I do appreciate you holding the team together while Glesing had Lymphoma. I appreciate you coaching there for several seasons. But don’t tell me that I don’t have any right to be critical of the coaching there. I’m a long time fan. I was a player. I pay taxes in this county. I give money to Floyd Central. And quite frankly I expect them to play better football. If you think your buddy can get the job done, then that’s fine. I hope he starts doing it.

Actually sir, I have coached youth football. But unfortunately I have to work a lot (50-60 hours a week) so I can’t be involved with it. I know I’m in the wrong criticizing coaches. But it’s not my fault that they do the same things over and over, expecting a different result. Example. Imagine telling people that you want to compete with the best(I.E. Louisville Male, St X, Cincinnati Elder.) And your program can only score 15 pts against Seymour? No offense to Seymour. Fine football team. I’m just making a point.

Jeffersonville, Floyd Central, and New Albany don’t care about football. They’re basketball schools. That’s why they aren’t very good. These guys hire coaches that wouldn’t even get an interview at East. I’m not being an A-hole, but that’s reality. Sorry if it offends anyone.

I don’t really want to crap on the guy, because he a really good guy. But I’m upset. I’m not a parent. I played 6 years in that program. So did my Father. 4 of my Uncles. 5 of my cousins. We’ve put a lot into that program. That did not look like cover 4 and if it was, their CB definitely didn’t drop into the zone fast enough. Either way, I’m disappointed in that loss. I know I don’t matter. But I attend every game and this one was hard.

Does anyone think I don’t have a right to be mad? Floyd Central blew a Sectional 2 years ago. Started 0-5 last season. They’re at 1-3 right now. They get creamed by Louisville schools every season. Haven’t beaten East since George Bush’s first term. I can’t think of one good thing that program is doing right now? They sure don’t have much trouble in all the other sports.

Please! Keep telling him to leave! That would be the best thing to happen! He wants to play teams like Male and St X and he can’t even beat Seymour! He’s a nice guy but he’s out of his mind. It’s not been a decade. That’s exaggerated. But under Bragg, yes you’re right.

Idk man. It wasn’t like this under Glesing. Just saying. He didn’t beat East. But he won 7-8 games a year.

No they don’t. It’s the way they practice. They get hurt in practice. One kid fell in the shower and hit his head. It’s fluke stuff. You bring a good coach in to Floyd Central, and they’ll win an HHC title.

What coach plays cover 2 on the 35 with 5 seconds left in the game? Bragg calls the Offense and the Defense. And I question about everything he does. Seymour couldn’t cover me. Everytime Floyd passed the ball, it was a 10 yard completion. But this guy wants to run dives up the middle all game. Just maddening. I just can’t with this guy anymore. And if he reads this, he has my permission to DM me and talk about it. Because the entire community is about done with this guy. Floyd Central has more talent then East, I would bet. But they don’t have the coaching to beat East. We are also missing our two best players but that’s not an excuse.

Hats off to Seymour. That loss is on Bragg. Just awful coaching.

I have never seen a team get away with holding on every other play. Ridiculous.
