Thanks to a team built by Brian Glesing, beating a bunch of bad teams. No offense. I’ve been here for 30+ years. I played in Green and Gold. About 10 people in my family played in Green and Gold. I am Floyd Central. I was around during the Wiegleb era. I think the world of Coach Bragg as a person, but he has looked like a Deer in the headlights this season. This team struggles to even get a play call in. This offense doesn’t fit this team or this program. The playcalling at times is baffling. It took till game 4 to realize that the 5”7 QB shouldn’t start over the 6”3 QB that can throw the ball 50 yards down the field. With that being said, Floyd Central is a program built on the running game. They can’t win any other way other than ground and pound. These kids struggle with pass concepts and have for 30 years. Glesing had it figured out. He went with a lot of mis-direction, motion, and some Wing-T concepts. What Coach Bragg is doing is not working. And it’s not going to work. It might get them wins over New Albany and Bedford but they’ll never beat anyone good with a Pro-Style offense. I respect that you coached over there and these are your friends and I’m not trying to make any of them look bad, I’m just calling it like it is. I’ve had almost 3 decades of looking at Floyd Central Athletics, I feel confident that I know what I’m talking about. Stop bringing up money. Just because I spend some money over there doesn’t mean I expect anyone over there to listen to my opinion. I’m just a fan and I’m just saying what I see.

We could take the best players from all the HHC teams, AND the best players from Columbus North. And still not beat Center Grove.

Well that is stupid because East plays plenty of “Big Boy Football” in the playoffs. They’ve won State Championships. If I lived in Columbus and had sons playing football, I’d send them to East. But North is really solid.

They’ll never dominate again like they did under Gaddis. Gaddis is one of the best HS coaches that I’ve ever seen. He could probably build any HHC team into a consistent Regional/Semi-State team. But, East is a football town. “Football in the crib.” All of that. We will see more good East teams.

This team has underachieved 3 years in a row. I knew this was coming after having such a talented team get dominated by East last season.

FC loses in OT 21-14. Highly winnable game. The kids played their heart out. Absolutely pitiful playcalling. I can’t believe this guy thinks he’s an OC. Let alone a HC.

14-14. End of regulation. Going to OT. Floyds defense has been amazing. 5 turnovers forced. A pick six. The offense is another story. This team cannot move the ball much at all. Doesn’t matter. They’re solid in the area they play in.

Floyd hanging in. 7-7 at half. Both teams have had some turnovers in the redzone. Should at least be 14-14. This QB is badass. Kid looks like Gunner Kiel. Not sure their coaching is as good. FC went with their two Sophomores, Robertson at QB and Bernardi at RB and they’re moving the ball much better against a good 6A team.

I hear you. But they’ve scored 7 pts in 3 games. That’s pretty bad.

Well Floyd Central picked up a game. Daviess County Kentucky. Don’t know much about them other than they have a Division 1 QB that leads the state of Kentucky in passing, and they averaged 40 pts a game last season. Sounds like another loss. Jennings County might be our only win this season. What a disaster up in the Knobs. Just a horrible situation.

Floyd Central is still scheduled to play Seymour in the JV game. What exactly is going on up there? If anyone knows?

Hey I understand. And I can respect you having a different opinion. I’m just behind these kids and I want to see them taste some success. I will always 100% back up the kids on that team. But I do agree that playing Oldham County would be better than sitting at home on Friday night. See guys, that’s how you guys (BoilerFan87) respectfully disagree with someone.

Oldham County is 3-0 and spanked Fern Creek last Friday. Floyd Central needs to schedule a good chance at a win “if” they can. This team is 0-3. Going 0-4 with trips to Jeffersonville and East could end up 0-6 and it’s a good chance that a lot of their kids will just pack it in for the season. Those kids need a win. They’re a young team. They need some confidence. Which is why I’m totally against opening the season with your toughest opponents.

It’s ridiculous. This will be a season that I’ll probably want to forget about to be honest.

FC needs a home game. I guess Seymour can’t play.

You’re delusional man. FC doesn’t belong on the field with Elder, Male, Manual, or any big time program. They haven’t even been able to play with East. Maybe they will now that the legend is gone up there, but we’ll see. I don’t want to see them schedule 2A teams. You’re telling me that they can’t get Castle, Bloomington North, East Central, Boonville, or some other good 4A/5A team on their schedule? It’s not about padding W/L but for goodness sakes, at least play games you might be able to win. Floyd Central was doing some good things when Glesing was the Head Coach but they clearly have no clue what winning football is. From Varsity on down, they’re just like the rest of the HHC. Mediocre.

I actually thought Szabo did a lot better.

James Bragg literally told me to my face, that he wants to play those teams and wants to play Trinity and St X. But go off.

“Omg man, how dare you talk negatively about East, how dare you call it like it is. You people in Columbus are terrible. You should just submit an application if you can do the job better.”

I do love Coach Bragg. Coach Bragg is a heck of a guy. I respect him tremendously. And I know he’s your friend. But this program is going backwards. I have a much bigger issue with them thinking they can play against Louisville Schools and they can’t even cross the 40 yard line against Silver Creek. Id like for someone to tell me, how getting your @@@ kicked 3 times in a row, is making anyone better? I boost money into that school. My family boosts money into that school. So yeah, I have a right to be irritated.

Are we sure of that? There isn’t one coach in the HHC that I’d want coaching my school. Not one.

Is there a good coach in the HHC? 😆
