I just watched some of his hudl highlights. Looks like a real good player breaking a lot of tackles with break away speed. South will need to work on wrapping up.  Makes fc dangerous with a good passing game to see them operate out of the single back formation . South will have their hands full.    The panthers held Castle to 4 yards rushing in the sectional title game on 29 attempts. I believe there were 6 sacks to negate the few rushing yards castle had.  Is wright getting offers from anyone?

Not yet, but I’m sure college coaches are aware of him and are looking at him. It will be a tough challenge for us as well. I have to believe that South is favored going into this game especially since they will host the game. We have really good team speed and a lot of weapons. But FC is not a very big team. We are undersized in almost every game we play. It’s been like that for 10 years.

How does he stack up gainst fc greats? Who was the fc rb a decade ago had a great career cant remember his name . Highlights of him anywhere online? I think i read an article on him earlier this season isnt he from Australia or something  .  Looks like bhss will have to bring another hard week of practice to prepare for fc.

That was Kyle Bramble who led the State in Rushing and was AP All-State. He was a machine.

Wenkers was adopted from Haiti as a child. He’s one of the best Athletes in the State. He’s been timed with a 4.39 40. He is extremely explosive and is impossible to bring down in the open field. I believe he’s 2nd or 3rd in the State in Rushing. He’s about 6”1 180 LBs. He has the ability to take over a game. He’s only a JR too. So he could be the top tailback in Indiana next season. I think he has D-1 Potential.

  3. Recap- Just a great overall night at FC. It’s worth it to freeze my butt off to witness a Sectional Championship. First off, I’ll give some credit to Jeffersonville. Coach Isaac Parker brought the most disciplined Jeffersonville team that I’ve seen in a while. Even though they made some mistakes, they played very clean, and they played hard. I think he did a good job this year. I think they’ll improve. It was really a closer game for 3 qtrs than what you think. We had a 10-0 halftime lead despite having great field position the whole game. The officiating was horrible. Floyd Central had some ridiculous penalties called on them that helped stall some opportunities. Wenkers had a few nice runs in the first half and we threw it pretty well. But he went down with an Ankle injury, early in the 3rd and he did not return. The latest that I’ve heard is that he should be fine and should play against BSHS but I imagine that’s a gametime decision. Colin Cummins came in and ran the ball extremely well and Coach Bragg had a couple really good play calls to kind of get the momentum back after Jeff blocked a FG and ran it back to make it 10-7. All in all, just a great Victory, that was well earned by all the players and staff. This is probably the best I’ve felt about their football program in a long time because I think they have one heck of a coaching staff. Looking forward to seeing how they match up with Bloomington South. We have never won a Regional Championship.

Congrats to Floyd on their 3rd sectional title in school history.

Bloomington South will be quite the challenge. They don't have any common opponents, but BHSS did play Martinsville and lost to them. Martinsville destroyed BNL early in the year. BHSS also lost to Columbus North, who defeated Columbus East. It should be an interesting matchup!

Floyd is pretty banged up. It’s going to be a challenge. They are definitely trending up with Coach Bragg though.

I’m not sure what Bloomington South brings to the table but Floyd is a good team. Has a great RB, and a pretty decent QB. They have 2 losses on the year to 2 superior teams in Louisville Male and Columbus East. If you stop Wright you will win the game (I believe he had 21 yards Rushing against CE). The kid is super quick. I believe South’s D-Line will be the question mark. If they can stop the run they should be in good shape.

@Fkfootball can fill you in on a little more.

Great win for Floyd, but Wenkers Wright left the game with an ankle injury. That’s a huge blow for us. Floyd has become a good passing team though. Polk has thrown for over 1500 yards this season. He’s good.

Something is wrong with @Fkfootball he’s talking way to sensibly over the past few weeks. I agree with with his assessment.

I would think FC will win but with BNL’s last three games against these two teams it is no sure thing. I believe FC has enough talent to win it going away but I do think Jeff has a better OL.

    FC 31

    Jeff 20

I think that’s fair. I think FC has struggled at times on the O-line but they’re well coached and they have improved. Wenkers doesn’t need much of hole to bust for paydirt.

  7. FC vs Jeff.

This is no sure thing. Even though Floyd is favored, Jeffersonville has improved. I have a lot of respect for Lieutenant Parker for being a Jeffersonville Police Detective and being the Head Coach at Jeffersonville. That isn’t easy. They are physical and they have plenty of athleticism. If Floyd Central doesn’t show up ready, they could find themselves in trouble. I think a lot of Coach Bragg, and I’m sure he’s doing everything he can to get them ready. But those kids need to be focused and put this one away at home.

Any FC fan familiar with the reason why there are no visitor stands?  Any plans to put some in?  From google maps it looks as though there is not much room but probably enough to put a small maybe long instead of deep bleacher .. . . . .

Their stadium is much larger in person. It can hold a large crowd. And they can put in temporary visitor stands if necessary. There is no way that FC can host a Regional this year. Too many home games in the Sectional.

From Seymour perspective, these 2 programs have the most upside. They blew out Seymour JV - not even close.

Seymour Freshman team was 5-2 Beat everyone but BNL and Floyd - neither game was close. BNL and Floyd have a good pipeline.

We did very well from Varsity to Middle School this season. From Coach Bragg and on down, we have really good coaching. In regards to Seymour, I’ll say this. They’re 7th and 8th grade teams are really good. I think Seymour could be pretty good down the road. The entire HHC is on a positive trajectory. East is the blue blood. FC and BNL have good programs. NA has some really good underclassmen and should improve. Jeffersonville always has talent, it just remains to be seen if they can figure it out. I like the coach at JC. It remains to be seen if he can find enough personnel to win. And then there is Madison, who is just under-matched against the HHC and quite frankly, deserves a conference change.

Thank you for recognizing that 😀

I’m sure someone will get an earful before next Friday night.

Nikirk is a great young man. Has a great arm. He be playing baseball in college.

Two of my favorite moments from this season were Nikirk (Dalton) throwing TD pass to Nikirk (Dylan) his brother who is a Freshman.

This team had the worst loss a team could have at home to Madison on homecoming night and could have folded but they overcame inexperience and a ton of injuries (season ending) to continue to improve and finish with their heads held high.

Coach Weber and his staff are absolutely incredible and as long as they stay the course and continue to coach at BNL the fruits of their labor is right around the corner.

That’s the best 3-6 team I’ve ever seen. They looked more like a 6-3 team. They didn’t make it easy. Floyd had to have an A game on offense to win that game.

    Congratulations to Floyd

Both teams are well coached and battled

We all know Winker is a great player but they also have a great defensive line.

    Good days ahead for BNL

Our defense struggled a little bit. They did make a few key plays. Really impressed with BNLs offense. Nikirk threw the ball so well. Really both QBs looked good. It was more exciting than what I thought it would be. I thought both teams would just run the heck out of the ball. The officials were all over the place in this game too. I don’t know what was up with the music. I know FCs coaches were yelling at the booth because they don’t want that either.

In 2016 they went 6-4, and finished 2nd in the conference. In 2011 they went 5-5 with a talented RB and a coach who has since won a state title at his new school.

It sounds like things are on a good track in JC. Perhaps the wins will follow. They've had some better seasons in recent memory. Best of luck to the Panthers.

I realize that they have had better years and that 2016 team was really solid and was a smashmouth team. But I really like the Offensive System they have now, and I feel as they develop their program, they will be hard to defend.

    Week 10 Predictions

Only two games this week. I'll try to put up the pick 'em standings a little bit later.

Greenwood (3-6) at Madison (1-8): The Woodmen take it. Not much more to say. No explanation needed.

Jennings County (3-6) at Martinsville (3-6): In week 1, the Artesians slaughtered BNL 40-7 who went on to smash Jennings County in week 3 50-21. Normally I wouldn't use the transitive property to pick a winner but there's a big difference between the Mid State Conference and the Hoosier Hills Conference. These scores allow you to see that clearly. Martinsville wins.

I’ve been more impressed with JC this year than any I can remember. Their QB is legit. Their system is legit. I think they’ll be good eventually.

Only 1 team in the south has any chance to beat them, and that team is considered the “favorite” by percentages... anybody not named Cathedral in the south will get killed by New Pal.

Well the Regional between Sectional 15 and Sectional 16, won’t be all that good. These are the 8 teams that can win it.

Floyd Central. Jeffersonville. New Albany. BNL. Bloomington North. Bloomington South. Castle. Evansville North.

Not 1 of those teams can hang with New Pal or Cathedral. Bloomington North is probably the best of that group on paper and they won’t have a chance.
