  1. I’ll give you a hand for doing this kind of work. I don’t really care. But I’ll give you props for it.
  2. Well, I don’t know why they are throwing everyone in there? Lol. I’m not one that has been “making fun” of Seymour. Obviously, they were very good in the Joe Goodman years. If you go back the past 20 years, Floyd and BNL have been FAR more successful than Seymour. But the only football fan in here that can truly claim dominance, is a Columbus East fan. That’s a real blue blood type of program. Whoever PM you that is obviously a coward for not coming over here and posting that for whoever the fan was that offended them. It obviously wasn’t me either.
  3. Well, since Floyd is about to play Columbus East, and BNL in a few weeks, and there are a lot of fans from both teams on here, I thought I would go ahead and make a mid-season scouting report for Floyd Central, just for fun. So opposing fans know who to look for. No predictions. I won’t give away any scheme out of respect for the Coaching Staff. And I won’t say anything negative about any player or coaches. It’s been a fun first half. Offensively-Tristan Polk is the Signal Caller. He’s a Junior. Very tall. Good arm. Threat to run. Pretty typical QB. Has made strides. Solid leader on the field. Wenkers Wright is the Tailback. A Junior. Decent size, deceptively strong, has a great stiff arm, good vision, and can explode through the hole for 6 at any point. Has been clocked in the low 4.4s many times. The backup RB is Calvin Brown. A Senior Captain. He’s a scat-back type, versatile, and has good short area quickness. Also plays WR, Slot, CB, and PR. An important player. Also at WR is Kaleb Quenichet. A Junior. He’s been the main target recently. He’s a tall, possession guy. Sure handed. Landon Deweese. A Senior. Is another good target. Just a solid football player. Floyd uses many TEs. Their O-line is made up of of 4 Jrs and 1 Sr. LT, Zen Mischalski is a Junior. Weighs in about 230 lbs. LG is Caleb Rodgers. A Junior. Weighs in at 290 lbs. The C is Isaac Hatfield. A Junior. Weighs in at 215 lbs. RG is Brenton Rodgers. A Senior. Weighs in at 270 lbs. And the RT is Trent Hyatt. A Junior. Weighs in at 290 lbs. A big, and steadily improving O-line. Defense. At LE is Seth Cook. A 215 lb Senior. At NT is Micheal Murphy, a 230 lb Senior. At DT is Daniel Cristiani. A 210 lb Senior. And at RE is Trace Richards, a 190 lb Junior. Richards a former RB, is one of the best athletes on the team and a tremendous pass rusher. Their d-line has been overall solid this season. They get after it. Well coached. At LOLB is Trent Allen, a Junior. At MLB is JD McKay, a Senior. And at ROLB is Caleb Slaughter, a JR. McKay is a Senior Co-Captain. And a sure tackler. Slaughter always seems to be all over the field making tackles. At LCB is Calvin Brown. A Senior Co-Captain. At RCB is Blake Zehnder. A Junior. FS is Trace Willman, a Senior. And SS is Landon Deweese. A Senior. The Secondary is a strength for Floyd. A lot of experience back there. Brown and Zehnder are good man cover guys. Willman is 6”3 Centerfielder that breaks up a lot of passes. Special Teams-The Kicker and Punter is Senior, Cole Hussung. The Michigan commit, has one of the strongest legs in the State. He’s still working on accuracy but his leg can impact a game. The PR is Calvin Brown. And the KR is Jaxon Farley. A Sophomore. Both guys are solid return men. Synopsis-For the most part, the team has met expectations. Well coached. And for the most part, still developing. A good Junior core, but definitely some Seniors playing roles too.
  4. Actually, since 2010*.
  5. In fairness, FC has played in 5 Sectional Championship games since 2011. All against Castle, Whiteland, and East. Lost all of them. It is what it is.
  6. I liked Szabo. He built them up. Weber took over a terrible roster. Built them up. It all has to do with talent. Hell, Coach Bragg was a Head Coach for 1 year at a terrible program in Illinois and didn’t win a game. Now he has FC on the right track. It depends on talent, and it takes time. Gaddis first couple of teams at CE were beatable. Now, you have to be extremely good to beat them.
  7. I disagree to an extent. I think you guys have had some solid teams and are the right track with Weber. Seymour looks like they are improving as well. NA send Jeff, I’m on a wait and hold pattern.
  8. He’s a great athlete, but your defense is the real deal. I respect all the HHC teams. I’ll cheer for all the other teams come playoff time. We all want to see the HHC get stronger. Even the East fans want that.
  9. Well that’s what I mean. I just think NA and Jeffersonville are in much bigger rebuilds right now. I think Floyd Central is better than BNL. I don’t think it’s by a wide margin. I’ve seen FC upset better BNL teams in the Sectional(2008). I’ve seen BNL upset better FC teams in the Sectional(2011). I like our chances if it’s at home. But up in Stars country........that could be dangerous.
  10. You never know. But we struggled to get a push against Jeffersonvilles front 7. Floyd would need to roll out a potent passing game for this game to be competitive. I think it’s a 42-10 type of game. Wenkers might bust 1 for a TD. I hope I’m wrong. But that’s where I stand.
  11. Sectional probably comes down to FC/BNL. Homefield could be a factor.
  12. I’m going up there in 2 weeks for FC/JC. Should be a good test for the pass defense.
  13. Jennings County is rolling out some O this year. Is it legit? I hear they throw it a lot.
  14. Floyd Central 23 Jeffersonville 6 More good defense for Floyd Central. But Wenkers Wright, who came into the game 2nd in the nation in rushing, was really bottled up. Floyd has shown a lot better passing game lately. Tristan Polk has been doing a good job. Their O-line has been inconsistent in run blocking. They’re well coached, but they don’t have a ton of experience yet. I’m not sure if they can move the ball on East TBH. Wenkers can pop for 6 at about anytime, but if he’s running into a wall next week, then there isn’t much he can do. Jeffersonville has some size and athletes. It’s amazing that they can’t get that program going.
  15. That has been a MAJOR blow to NA football. I’d like to see NA get back to being a good program.
  16. 1. Seymour. I really like Coach Kelly. They have a terrific RB too. 2. FC. Floyd has a better defense, and although Jeff has speed, I’m not sure they have Wenkers Wright speed. 3. Madison. I’m intrigued by their new coach. I think he will improve their program. 4. East. They’ll name the score. Good luck to all HHC teams!
  17. That’s a good point. They probably wouldn’t gain anything. To be completely honest. I’d just like to see Madison and JC get it figured out. That’s the best solution. It seems like Madison has found a coach that has given them a spark. What about JC? How many kids do they have? 1500 or so? There shouldn’t be any reason they can’t compete in the HHC. I guess it’s about finding the right formula. I don’t coach HS football so I have no idea how hard that turnaround would be.
  18. I realize it’s a dead horse. It’s just my opinion. I haven’t heard any other logical solutions.
  19. I didn’t say they will ever make those moves. Im just saying, “it’s what I would do.” To elaborate.
  20. They need to replace JC and Madison with Silver Creek and Charlestown. Both of those schools can compete in the HHC in every sport. Neither team can beat East in football obviously but they can pull their weight against the other teams. Silver Creek is extremely good athletically. They would add a lot to the HHC in many sports.
  21. https://www.courier-journal.com/story/sports/preps/indiana/2019/09/18/floyd-central-running-back-wenkers-wright-adopted-haiti/2350916001/ Great story about Floyd Centrals Tailback. I thought you guys would like this.
  22. Our RB is legit. But Idk if our O-line can move Easts front. Floyd is very well coached, but we are still developing on the line of scrimmage.
  23. HHC Mid-Season Analysis 1. CE-The Os have the best Offense and Defense in the HHC. They’ve played the hardest schedule. Gilley is the best QB in the conference. The trio of Gilley, McDonald, and Griewe will propel them to lopsided victories in all their HHC games. 2. FC-The Highlanders have met expectations so far. The passing game is still developing but Wright has ran for 1000 yds and 12 TDs so far. Their defense and kicking game are solid. Probably won’t challenge the Os, so that Seymour game in week 9 will be a big game. 3. Seymour- The Owls are coming along. They’ll certainly have a shot at 2nd place. Brendan Smith is a good QB. Mike Kelly has done a good job and they have Brian Balsmeyer as their DC. They can certainly play with anyone on their schedule except East. 4. Jeffersonville-The Red Devils were beaten bad by East, but I still think they are getting better. Their coach has instilled discipline in their program. They have a few playmakers on offense. 5. NA-The Bulldogs are rebuilding with Sophmores. They’ll be good down the road. Myles Johnson and Derrell Simmons are guys to keep an eye on. 6. Madison-The Cubs best BNL. I don’t know much about them but I’m happy for them. 7. BNL-The Stars are not good. But luckily for them coach Weber is. He’ll build them back up. 8. JC-I don’t know much about them other than they are never good and I don’t understand why?
  24. Thank you! Yeah I would love to play a series. I think it would be pretty competitive. You guys have talent up there.
  25. I think their defense has some dudes. But when I watched them last week, Floyd Central played very conservative on offense for some odd reason. Their were things in the passing game that they could have got done. I also thought your backup QB was better than the Starting QB. Best of luck to you guys. I think your coach is a good one.
