  1. Didn’t stay in his hizzle, was diagnosed with Coronizzle. I still like the Boilers’ change against Rutgers and Nebraska (and their combined 2-7 records), IU caught a major break that a defender of his caliber may not be playing in the Bucket game. Purdue is currently a 12-point favorite against RU, but they were also favored against Minny.
  2. They’ll be back. I’m not sure to the same degree under RMK, but still...
  3. We also have the Ambia Wildcats, Fair Oaks Cherokees, and Hanging Grove Hornets.
  4. Brook Purple Aces + Goodland Trojans + Kentland Blue Devils (in addition to the Earl Park Cardinals and Ramblin’ Rats of Raub=the South Newton Rebels.
  5. We’re ignoring the Mishawaka High Cavemen—Fred & Barney...
  6. Who would you rather watch on TV: D-I, or NAIA?
  7. I think so, too, but there is a natural resistance to change. I see what you’re doing and it’s good, but there will always be dissenting opinions. Not from me anymore, though... About the mighty Rebels: if they were playing in Uk’s Premiership, they would have been relegated a long time ago, chap.
  8. Aggressive, but will the masses be as accepting?
  9. And my son starts there in the fall (Honors College—pretty cool, huh?)
  10. In terms of wins and losses, I’m totally with you, but their fan base in basketball is more than comparable to Michigan football. Case in point: I married into an IU family and they’re already excited for the Final 4... I must declare victory, however, as Mrs. Gipper will be earning a Purdue degree this Spring!
  11. We all walk a slippery slope... I’m going to change my stripes and not be anti-IU today. Allen’s had a good run at IU. Not only do we take note, but deep pocketed ADs do as well. Why be a (well paid) #2 at a basketball school, when you can be the man/head dog/big cheese/numero uno honcho somewhere else?
  12. Good analysis. As much as it pains me, I see ND in the ACC on a permanent basis.
  13. Again, way more entertaining than any Pivot Table or P/E Growth Factor....
  14. Don’t forget about Venable at Clemson. Dabo’s put together a fantastic run, but as soon as Saban leaves Tuscaloosa, he’ll be on the next flight west.
  15. Happy Thanksgiving, gents!
  16. It was a joke, I’m supposed to be doing QR, but this much more fun.
  17. And what’s Skip Holtz up to?
  18. How about some Brady Hoke?
  19. Either. Although this football season has been anything but normal, there has been some good coaching performances.
  20. Throw Ryan Day, the coach at Cincinnati (Fickell?) and Florida into the mix as well...
  21. I do wonder how the good folks at Earlham College (Society of Friends or Quakers I believe) are with RHS bring nicknamed the Red Devils.
  22. About my good buddy @DT: Sure, we used to be at odds and I didn’t really care for his schtick at times, but he just wants a level playing field. Nothing wrong with that at all, but just some of his strategies (and football is a game of strategy) does put people off (myself included). But then again, his comments, no matter if you love or hate them, does stir up conversation and does indeed lead to a more level playing field. Keep tilling those windmills, Don Quixote. I’m gonna talk about nicknames like the Forest Park Rangers and Tell City Marksmen.

    IU 2020

Conversely, there are people who enjoy Trips to the Right or Left, the Spread, and my favorite, the Bomb. No one is wrong here, football is a great game with many different looks to it. Strategy is everything.
  24. I also would expect the head coach at Coastal Carolina, Jamey Chadwell, to have his name in play. Also, IU needs to get its checkbook handy as Tom Allen is emerging as a hot commodity.
  25. Just thinking about Hugh. He alluded to the fact he was content at Liberty. C’mon man...
