  1. I thought week one was a good one. Both Purdue and IU looked great, Wisconsin played like, well, Wisconsin, and Michigan thumped Minnesota. Ohio State surprised no one by smoking Nebraska, although I thought their last touchdown showed a tremendous lack of class. Sure, Northwestern smoked Maryland, which was a little surprising. As for Rutgers and Sparty, I don’t think the loss can be pinned on their coach.
  2. Hi fill-in was pretty good, though.
  3. Xander Horvath, your plane is boarding.
  4. “Hold my beer.” —David Bell Make that a Clausthaler as he is a minor.
  5. Southwood over Northfield 36-0 and there is only one remaining Midwest conference team playing next week: the South Newton Rebels they got a bye and will play North Judson who eked out a 54-0 win over West Central.
  6. Rensselaer 78, Bowman 0 I’m not kidding.
  7. It’s the tournament—arguing is senseless—good luck along the way.
  8. KV goes down—alas...
  9. Getting it done. Lowell got up on Morton 14-0 which is where it stands with a few minutes to go in the 3rd.
  10. And that’s why they play the games...
  11. A few surprises, Highland over Griffith stands out the most. Then again, this game might be emblematic of why GHS booked a few years ago...
  12. Lowell 7, Morton 0 Hanover 21, Twin Lakes 14 both first half
  13. Twin Lakes up on Hanover Central 14-7 in the first.
  14. Speculation only, run along.
  15. Games are not transitive. Congratulations to Andrean on their win, but that doesn’t mean squat.
  16. Sectional 17–Lowell will give Hobart everything they can handle. But the winner could easily advance to the State Finals. Sectional 28–KV is not there yet. New Prairie will win big.
  17. It’s unfortunate all of this last minute closing is going on. Then again, I don’t feel the administrators arrived at their decisions on a whim. They are giving the virus the respect that is so badly needed.
  18. There is risk in everything, don’t be naïve. Gary West has their work cut out for them. Sectional 17 is stacked.
  19. I never meant to be negative but am glad we’re going forward.
  20. It’s not just the players. Coaches, support staff, and fans are far from immune. Actually they’re at higher risk. Nor do I.
  21. I will not jump on the “DT is crazy” bandwagon. COVID is not going away, many of my daughter’s classmates are in quarantine, and many other football programs not named the IHSAA have been hit hard. Coach Jeff Brohm of Purdue University has it, many players at Notre Dame have had it, even the NFL has been affected. We made it through the season, good for us, but why risk anything further?
