  1. I do. From my neck of the woods.
  2. Thanks! I like your sense of humor (I swear to God I do), but I thought someone was going after you the other day and I misinterpreted what was going on in here. Ironic, in a sense, as I have accused others of taking this thing too seriously. I have just done the same. I gotta go.
  3. Yeah, I probably jumped off the deep end again...
  4. This was supposed to be a thread about potential upsets, but unfortunately it has morphed into mudslinging and general ugliness. Figure it out, people.
  5. Has diagnosed with COVID-19. Although he will not play against Boston College this weekend, I do wonder how long he’ll be out. I think this will have an impact on the College Football Playoff.
  6. thanks for the intel— I thought they were unstoppable when they beat West Central 54-0 last week.
  7. Yep, right by Bass Lake.
  8. Love upsets. Not really sure what’s gonna happen in my neck of the woods: 6A: Lake Central will get obliterated by Lafayette Jeff Crown Point hasn’t played for quite a while and I don’t think they’ll hang with Merrillville for over a quarter, setting up a rematch from last year, but the Bronchos (with a H) will take it. 5A—Valparaiso’s the favorite and although Michigan City is pretty good, I don’t know if they can knock off the Vikings. Munster’s in rebuild mode but maybe La Porte can do something. 4A is a little tougher with Hobart cruising against Gary West and although Highland will push them for a while, RDP 219 will put them away and face the Brick House. I know they didn’t play this year, and how everyone and their mother thinks East Merrillville will win, Lowell wasn’t 7-1 for nothing. And don’t you dare say forfeits.... KV and New Prairie were both eliminated (or would you say upset 😉) last week, and were the favorites. I’m going with Plymouth now. Hanover and Calumet both look tough in 3A, I like Andrean, Pioneer, Rensselaer Central, and possibly Wheeler in 2A which brings us to 1A. Basically North Judson’s to lose.
  9. Losing sucks, huh? The Packers and Bears hook up in a few weeks, should be a good one.
  10. Graham Mertz, starting QB at Wisconsin, tested positive for COVID-19. The Badgers host Purdue a week from Saturday.
  11. Bell did look good, I liked how Milton Wright came back after getting his clock cleaned in the first half. I was, a little surprised to see AOC get the start, though. I think the season is only 8 games, so Ferentz needs to step it up. Not to sure what to think about Franklin’s brain fart, but I’ve never been sold on him either. To borrow from my brother @DT, maybe they’ll bring Schiano in. Or Fitzy (who beat UMD by a similar score Purdue did last year). Or Fleck.
  12. This just in: players make plays, coaches don’t.
  13. I thought week one was a good one. Both Purdue and IU looked great, Wisconsin played like, well, Wisconsin, and Michigan thumped Minnesota. Ohio State surprised no one by smoking Nebraska, although I thought their last touchdown showed a tremendous lack of class. Sure, Northwestern smoked Maryland, which was a little surprising. As for Rutgers and Sparty, I don’t think the loss can be pinned on their coach.
  14. Hi fill-in was pretty good, though.
  15. Xander Horvath, your plane is boarding.
  16. “Hold my beer.” —David Bell Make that a Clausthaler as he is a minor.
  17. Southwood over Northfield 36-0 and there is only one remaining Midwest conference team playing next week: the South Newton Rebels they got a bye and will play North Judson who eked out a 54-0 win over West Central.
  18. Rensselaer 78, Bowman 0 I’m not kidding.
  19. It’s the tournament—arguing is senseless—good luck along the way.
  20. KV goes down—alas...
  21. Getting it done. Lowell got up on Morton 14-0 which is where it stands with a few minutes to go in the 3rd.
  22. And that’s why they play the games...
  23. A few surprises, Highland over Griffith stands out the most. Then again, this game might be emblematic of why GHS booked a few years ago...
  24. Lowell 7, Morton 0 Hanover 21, Twin Lakes 14 both first half
  25. Twin Lakes up on Hanover Central 14-7 in the first.
