Hmm!  No love for the 'Saints'? Or is this just your 'fair-weather' Disavowmentsince the weather forecasters are calling for rain on Friday evening the 28th.?

Just the way I see it.  North Side has 10 Seniors on D and a lot on offense as well. Duce is the real deal.  So is Lytle.  It could go either way.  If Dwenger can pressure Duce and hit him often AND avoid the big play, they could easily win by 3-4 scores.   If they don’t, Duce can and will make the big plays and likely win.  I am predicting a very close game but at North Side they will catch a break and win.

That makes no sense whatsoever.  Please understand that every virus, strain, etc. is totally different and this one is a very serious one.

If that answer makes no sense to you then you are not qualified to be talking about this topic.
Please understand that this virus is serious.  However so are many others.  This one is only very very serious as of late

Nice to know the university Presidents are still in control at these major institutions, and not the extra-curricular athletic departments.

If you are in charge of a huge organization and don’t listen to your department heads, you won’t be in charge for long.

What stat are you talking?  Incidence, hospitalization, death?  Because your first sentence was not accurate.

Your last sentence was not accurate either.  95% of businesses did not shut down in Europe.  Not even close.

You are correct.  Virus fans opening misrepresent the facts on a regular basis.  I’m not talking about slightly off here it there, I’m talking about saying things have gotten much worse.  That’s absolutely not true.  Cases and deaths  went up early, which is how a  Virus spread will work. They came down dramatically.  When we started testing more, the cases went up again, the deaths continued to fall and took a slight uptick and are falling again.
Life will eventually get back to normal.  Likely in early November.  Since we know this, we may as well start now and let the kids play.

    Also.

Nobody on here is openly cheering for the season to get cancelled... There are people on here like me that want the season moved to spring...because theres a zero chance we finish in the fall.

The reason college football and high school will be shut down is because..

We don't have the will as a country to make the small sacrifices to make this pandemic go away, we just went over what 4 or 5 million cases?..until we learn to show the will or a vaccine. We won't have nice things.

That's not being negative, that's not wanting to cancel the season.. Its called reality.

You are not living in reality.  We have plenty of will as a country.  Too many people with out any stones is the issue.  We are coming through to the end of the virus that lasted this long because we purposely spread it out to last longer.   Go look at the numbers yourself and if you are honest with yourself and use common sense, it’s as plain as day.

The only way I see this working is 1 of 2 ways.

    A.

    They do a bubble

    Or

    B

The non student athletes do online schooling at home while athletes don't.

So you are not for having a season?  You also might want to reword your post.  Student athletes are athletes.  Last point.  There is no. Red for a bubble.  202 deaths forages 15-24.   You don’t want a season and I think I know why.      .  #statguywasabenchwarmer. #statguyrevenge

  7. College football players started a movement, behind Trevor Lawrence. It’s called #WeWantToPlay.  Indiana High School Football players should be ready to do the same.
Almost as important as the above is now we all have the opportunity to show we want to have a season by promoting and supporting #WeWantToPlay.  We can all come together on this and apply pressure back against.
Everyone who gets mad when some of us when we say you are cheering for the season to be cancelled, now is your chance to prove us wrong and get behind the CFB players.  The players have the leverage to get this done with our support.  We will see who really wants the season to happen.
I am on record as saying I support the #WeWantToPlay movement 100%. I care for the kids and what they want.  And they want to play.

Hello Pot? Meet Kettle... Keepsake Box by It's time to get Geekish! - CafePress

If you can point out a single instance where I have posted a news story or a comment that is negative in relation to all of us having a full and successful HS football season, I will ask to be banned from the GID.  What I HAVE done is tried to get a few people to understand it’s more productive to try and find solutions and find some way to get the season in.  Constantly pointing out people who have cancelled is only going to allow the cancel the season crowd to gain momentum.  I’ve said it before, this board is here to help promote HS football and talk positively about it.  When someone comes on here only to say,    no way there is a season over and over and over..... it bothers me.  ALOT.  We all already know the season is in danger of not happening. We don’t want it to and are trying to find scenarios where it could.
So please stop coming on here and do the equivalent of peeing down all of our backs and then When we question you, you tell us not to worry, it’s just a little rain.   Capish ?

If you posted stories like these along with all of yours “cancelled” posts, we might not say you are cheering for the season to be cancelled.  As it is, you don’t.  That’s how I know you want it to be cancelled.  Anyone who legitimately wants a season is trying to find ways to have one, won’t even consider the thought of not having a season and would only post positive stories to try and get more positive energy.  Whereas, you only post negative stories and argue for why we should t or can’t ha e a season.

This means whiting clark one of the longest running rivalries in the state is officially done, for gods sake Ihsaa flip the season to spring already.

Just because Hobart’s board has no backbone and are punishing 15-19 year old kids because of a virus that will have absolutely ZERO effect on them doesn’t mean the rest of the State should concede to their lack of character.

Reading must be tough for you and the 3 people who liked your post.... Where did I say I want no football to be played? Ive never said that nor typed it...so keep saying that..cause you are clearly wrong..and I've stated many times that im for a condensed season in the spring.

Tough guy.  You don’t have to type it nor do you have to say it.  You see I can read and interpret what their meaning is based on how often they react a certain way(much like you do here).
I can also tell that I am correct based on the fact that you actually looked to see how many “likes” I had for this post and it annoyed you enough to mention it.  That means it hit a nerve because it is true.  You became angry as a result and like a two year old had to attack me.
I want foot ball in the fall.  As do many others on here.  It’s what is best for the overall health of these kids,  now and in the long term.  Anyone who won’t look at the long term consequences of stopping school and athletics is going to have had an agenda.  What hours is?  I don’t know.   However, I do know it’s not for the good of the kids and football.

  12. Bishop Dwenger.
Brendon Lytle will be amazing.  He has skill to be one of best QBs in the state.  So will Devon Tippmann and Vinnie Fiacable who are already well known as some of best on State.
New names that should do very well...KJ Tippmann, Sam Pesa, Callan Stauffer, Michael Finley, Jon and Joe Fabini, Adam Lee and Gavin Groves, Jack Tippmann and Rocco Ciocca and Ben Simcox.
The most electrifying kid on the team? Henry O Keefe.  My nephew  played against him when they were younger and I’ve followed him.   If they use him correctly, he will be one of the best on the State.

This is called taking a stand.  These kids have guts.  They stood up to the adults who tried telling them what’s best for them under the lie that it’s what is best for them.  We should all be re-posting this and sharing it.

It seems odd that this post gets 0 replies and there are a bazillion posts about cancelling/postponing the season.

That’s what I’ve always thought too.  Some people seem to be actually cheering for the season to be cancelled under the guise of being concerned for the kids.  They say, I REALLY want to have a season but man I just don’t see it, unless everyone wears a mask.  But even then if one person gets sick......

What has never been  offered by these people was a solution.  They only promote and comment on scenarios to close down the season because that’s really what they want.
The Proof being exactly what you just posted.

Complete BS.....I love the game of football, and see that they took a stand. 27th year of coaching the game after playing 5th through 12th grade, I still love the game, so you could not be more wrong on that point. You and I being here in the Northeastern part of the State have no say whatsoever in what Washington Township does, Nor are we any where near the decision makers to understand why they chose this path.

I am far from wrong on this.  I can understand the situation just as well as these decision makers why a decision was made.  It’s called liability to the school, wokeness or a de emphasis on athletics.   There is absolutely a way to play a season.  Anyone who says otherwise doesn’t want it to happen or are afraid of the liability.   Playing football in general is likely more dangerous to play every year than the danger the virus poses to them this season.

I did not catch that. I have a couple friends coaching there, and am curious to hear what they have been told. If they have just suspended the season, and the IHSAA does not alter the season schedule at all for the state, keep in mind the 10 practice days rule comes into play for a team hoping to restart a season. That is two games missed beyond whatever else they missed....if it gets to that point.

Some would contend that Washington Township did take a stand.

Only people who hate athletics would say Washington Township is taking a stand.  Give me a freaking break.  They took a stand like France did in WW2.

    What is that solution, OSFB?

My solution is you let the kids play.  Have the kids and parents sign a waiver.  If anyone can show proof that this age group is in anyway at risk, we can discuss another idea.  It’s remarkable to me that early on when the virus was just starting to infect people the US, New York was practically trying to help it spread by keeping the subway open and sending patients to nursing homes and packing people in elevators etc.   All of the sudden we have a huge outbreak and the country locks down because of what was going on in NYC.  Other areas were sure to follow the epicenter if we didn’t .   Now as we have reopened, I’m supposed to believe that Florida has 15,000 new infections while New York has only  85?   The subway is still open. People still take elevators and it’s highly over populated and riots have taken place and homes are the size of a closet making social distancing impossible.  I don’t believe we are being told the truth.  If we are and New York only had 85 new positives then the shut down is useless because after a while the people will develop immunity which would have to be the case in NYC.   They may have tried to lockdown as much can.  But an NYC lockdown is the equivalent of an opened up Michigan during 4th of July.  I’m not even taking into account the fact that they didn’t actually lockdown because rioters were and are still allowed to roam free.
My last comment is this. Nobody knows for sure one way or the other what will happen.  Proven by the absurd amount of times the info coming at us has flip flopped.   YOU CANT SHUT THE WORLD DOWN BECAUSE YOU ARE AFRAID SOMETHING MIGHT or MIGHT NOT HAPPEN.  We are supposed to lockdown indefinitely and listen to what we are told until when?   I’ve heard many different answers.  Most of which we have reached.  Only to have the goal posts moved.  Time to push back!
