    Snider 19 - Mishawaka 18 final

Snider 45 yard field goal as time expires

One of the better high school games I’ve seen in awhile. Both teams left it all on the field. And, I might add, the officiating was a pleasure to watch.

    Yep, prepared for everything.,,

Suspending a coach while the team plane is on the run way sure as hell is an ironic way to prove that a team cheated and had a "competitive advantage."  Student athletes deserve better.

It’s worse than that. Veteran’s Day. Courts are closed. If you think that was a coincidence …. As I said, this is going to get nasty very quickly … like immediately.

And I’m betting there’s a gaggle of lawyers camped out on a friendly judge’s doorstep with the injunction papers already drafted. This is going to get really nasty, really quick.

If memory serves me correctly, it may not, I thought Mishawaka was favored vs. Snider last year. Eye test tells me different in this game

Harrell gives Mishawaka a 55% chance to win this game, Snider a 45% chance to win

Signs are pointing to a close ballgame. I hope so. Steele can be a great atmosphere. Will Snider travel well? Start time has been pushed back to 7:30.

  5. So, it turns out that Ohio State is not the snitch. But who is?

According to Ross Dellenger of Yahoo!, there are “no known connections” between Ohio State head coach Ryan Day, his family, and the private investigation firm looking into the Michigan sign-stealing scandal. The NCAA was the one to notify the Big Ten of the news on Monday afternoon.

“The NCAA notified the Big Ten on Monday that there are no known connections between Ohio State head coach Ryan Day or his family and the conference’s investigation into Michigan, senior officials at both the association and conference told Yahoo Sports,” Dellenger said in his report.

A report from The Washington Post stated an “outside firm” provided information to the NCAA about Michigan stealing signs, bringing this scandal to light. Chris Balas of On3’s The Wolverine went to report that Day’s brother, Timothy, and someone associated with another one of his brothers, Christopher, were apparently central to the information becoming public. One apparently runs a private investigation firm in Manchester, New Hampshire, where Day is from.

Dellenger stated the Big Ten and Commissioner Tony Petitti sought clarity on the matter from the NCAA, only for it to be confirmed Day nor his family members had any kind of connection to the “outside firm.”

This is far from the last twist in the Michigan sign-stealing scandal but for now, the connection to Day, his family, and the Ohio State program has been put to rest.

Thus far ZERO has been traced back to Harbaugh or the athletic department.  If that changes, I'll be the first to report it and demand action.

My thoughts as well. Either prove there was a trace back to Harbaugh knowing of the extreme lengths Scallion was going to acquire his knowledge or move on. And while you're at it ask Ohio State and Rutgers why they used an electronic device to notify Purdue in 2022 of signs their actual coaches picked up on during live game action.

Has there been any credible reporting of what happened to the information Stalions and his minions obtained through their “advance scouting?” I assume he wasn’t using it to play fantasy football.

For the record there’s a lot of accusations being thrown around here without any evidence. There’s no evidence that Northwood did anything. I did say it’s likely it’s someone in the orbit of Northwood. But there’s posts here suggesting the Northwood staff was holding onto it when I haven’t seen any evidence of such. If people want to criticize Northwood’s use of transfers that’s one thing, do that. But beyond that is assuming at best.

    So, what is worst?

    1. Holding on to the video on the chance you’d see Northridge in the playoffs … and then using it to knock their QB out of the game.
    2. Having advance scouts video future opponents’ sideline signals.
    3. Having private investigators accumulate evidence — some of it arguably obtained illegally —  and then turning it into the NCAA to get your rival sanctioned for cheating.

Who knew that football could create such moral dilemmas?

    #27 Lakewood St. Edward (10-1)                 35          Canton GlenOak (7-3)           0

Eagles have outscored their first two playoff opponents 77-0. They get Canton McKinley next. Pretty nice when your home field is the Hall of Fame Stadium. If I recall, I spent my 16th birthday playing Canton McKinley at what was then known as Fawcett Stadium.

  9. Strictly speaking, this changes nothing. There is an exception in the roughing the kicker rule for contact on the kicker that is “unavoidable because it is not reasonably certain a kick was going to be made.” If the kicker is simply taking a few steps to the side before he kicks the ball, that does not divest him of the protection afforded by the rule. The onus is always on the defense to avoid contact with the kicker if possible.

    Losing its luster over here.

It’s a dangerous precedent to have a rival fan base hire two firms to investigate its opposition in the middle of the season, slowly drop out the details in the most damning fashion and then a popularity contest determines that program’s fate.

The B10 commish is caving to the pressure and Harbaugh’s head is on a platter.  He may very well coach his last game at Michigan tonight…without one shred of a level 1/2 violation nor absolute proof (burden of proof is on the accuser) that he was in on it at the time I type this message.  (If that changes, I’ll be the first to edit my stance.)

What a time to be alive.

College football becomes asymmetrical warfare. Who would have thought it? I guess Day’s reasoning is if he can’t beat them on the field, he’s got to find another way.
