  1. Isn't that what I was saying? You gave me a thumbs down. Warsaw sports is part of the Fort Wayne coverage area, so I guess one could label them NE Indiana. If one wants to get technical and throw central out the window, Warsaw shifts to the east (easily), Elkhart shifts to the east, SB/Mishawaka shift to the west.
  2. I feel like Warsaw is right there in the middle with Penn. Northcentral Indiana maybe warrants a poll.
  3. I keep forgetting about Warsaw, I'm not underestimating them.
  4. I think Merrillville will be right there with DC and EC.
  5. That's a tough one for me since I haven't researched it thoroughly. I think the Top 3 is easy. I don't know enough about the others to make an educated guess. New Prairie is a solid contender, but I think it's a crapshoot after that. 1. Crown Point - lead by a state champion head coach. Entering year 4 and his teams have gotten better each year. No reason to bet that he won't keep the momentum going. He's more than likely in that "hungry for a state title" phase. That can make program dangerous if the commitment is there. The commitment seems to be there. 2. Merrillville - I feel like they had a team last year that was young enough to consider this year a possible uptick. I'll have to defer to someone in the region on that. I do know that I immediately called a DC/Merrillville 2024 matchup up shortly after Thanksgiving weekend last year. Merrillville has good coaching. The only thing stopping them from a 5A title is Decatur Central, or maybe Snider if they get bumped down. Either way, Brad Seiss is on a collision course with a state title within the next few years. I was getting ready to move onto #3 when I realized that I may have offended some Warsaw fans. I have their program slightly under Merrillville. Stay tuned. 3. Valparaiso - This program is good every year. They are good on the downtick and very good on the uptick. Most years they seem to be an athlete or two away from hoisting the trophy. My guess is that they have community investment in this football team. You can't be good every year, regardless of the coach, like they are otherwise.
  6. Looks good so far. Also looking forward to see if Penn can reach new heights under this new leadership. The future looks bright for the northern teams.
  7. Everyone knows that Harris was elected as Vice President for no other reason than to reach out to the black vote. It certainly wasn't based on merit. Democrats voiced their opinion in the primary and she got utterly obliterated. In football terms, that's a halftime score of 50-0. And somehow she gets promoted to the Vice President of the United States. Votes matter more than the health of our country. Sad fact. Trump beat around the bush on that question, I wish he would have just plain said that she was only elected for the color of her skin. Because that's the truth. Now, there are many idiots who would claim that my comment is racist. So I'll also throw out there that Byron Donalds, Tim Scott, and Ben Carson are all more than qualified to hold the position of Vice President. It's not a black/white thing. It's a qualification thing. Among my very own peer group, Harris would be somewhere in the middle in terms of competence/intelligence. Yet here she is, with the right amount of money thrown at smear campaigns and lies about Trump, in a position to be the next President of the United States. If she wins (fairly), I won't pout like the Dems (mostly modern day fools in Hollywood) did and say childish things like, "she's not MY president," or "I'm moving to Canada." I'll continue to do my best, but sadly sit on the sidelines and watch the continuation of our country's downward spiral. I'll continue to work hard and save money to help stop the bleeding of my children's future.
  8. I agree that Warren Central had some preseason hype a year ago, but it never materialized. But when someone creates a poll, part of their job is to look at how well a team will do this year vs a year ago. I'm not a believer that if a team was just average with a bunch of juniors, that they won't be much better as seniors. Young men that age develop quite a bit over the course of a year. I think in the case for Warren Central, you have to look at the talented juniors they had last year who are now seniors. I think you have a program that feels that they may have underperformed a season ago and they'll use that motivation to not let it happen again. Just as Snider wasn't going to let anyone get in the way of their 2023 championship after underperforming in 2021 & 2022. They became an unstoppable force. I don't see any reason why Warren Central can't turn the corner and do the same thing. Polls are fun, that's all they are. Creating a pre-season poll isn't easy, I'm glad I'm not the one doing it. They work themselves out as the season progresses. And the banter back and forth is fun as well. One is saying "show me FIRST." One is saying "the writing is on the wall." I see both sides of this equation.
  9. There's an 80% chance that one of four teams will win the state title. The other 20% is comprised of about 10 teams. Warsaw's not one of them............yet. In reality, the other 18 teams are just there as stepping stones for the others to compete for a championship.
  10. Clarify Northwest. Northwest quadrant of the state? Far Northwest, excluding SB/Mishawaka/Elkhart?
  11. I think Warsaw is playing in the division they belong in pound for pound. I like the idea of them knocking heads with Merrillville and Valpo for 5A northern supremacy. My confidence level is very low in them ever winning a 6A title.
  12. I think Warren Central checks off enough boxes to be considered a major player in 6A. Large Enrollment ✅ Athletes ✅ Good Coaching ✅ Transfer Portal ✅ Tradition ✅ My only skepticism is that they were highly touted last year and it never materialized. It's not that they weren't good. Any Top 25 (any class) team is good, they just weren't Top of 6A good. I think they have an opportunity to change that this year. Looking forward to Week 1 when 6A Fort Wayne takes on Warren Central, Hamilton Southeastern, Carmel. We'll find out real quick if the north will be contenders or pretenders this year.
  13. Center Grove? I'll roll with them by default. Last year was a "down" year and were an overtime from taking four in a roll. I'd have a hard time not ranking them #1.
  14. I work Muda, have other life obligations. I have to pick and choose what I'm going to spend my time on. The media has been taking what Trump says out of context for the last 9 years. I take it with a grain of salt. But thank you, I'll watch it tonight when I have more time.
  15. I don't see Snider/Warren being a high scoring game. Each team has four D1 athletes residing on that side of the ball.
  16. I'd like to see the full video, that one is edited to show the viewers what they want them to hear. Presuming the ET stands for Entertainment Tonight? This is a waste of time.
  17. It's not a 'be all end all' comparison. But it is a decent comparison nonetheless. My point is that teams like Warsaw and Mishawaka are dangerous and you need to be highly prepared to defend them. I also think you underestimate games that are played in the first few weeks of the season. Nowadays, there are so many scrimmages and 7 on 7's during the summer, Week 1 is almost like the start of a second season.
  18. Carroll beat Warren last year. Warsaw waxed Carroll. All bets are off when you go up against "Bart ball." I think coming up with a spread in that game is difficult. I think comes down to how good Warren's offense is. They've had some very talented offenses in the past. If this is one of them, they'll score some points against the Tigers. Warsaw will eat the clock for sure, but will they get enough first downs against a VERY talented defensive line to run the clock down far enough to keep the game close? I don't want to underestimate Warsaw, so I'll just sit on the sidelines and see how it plays out.
  19. You bring up a good point. Burning a flag is the proper way to dispose of it. It's also proper to do it in respectful way. I'm all for law enforcement determining what's respectful and what is not. Example of a respectful way: Your own yard, preferably the back yard in privacy. Example of a "one year in jail" way. Burning a flag in a public setting..........a public street for instance. Anyone who believes that an American burning an American flag is OK, probably shouldn't be living in America. Shame on you Muda. Provide me the link of the video. I don't trust the Indy Star any more than I do the FW Journal Gazette.
  20. I would have to watch the speech myself. You know that the media takes everything he says out of context. Remember "dictator?" Remember "bloodbath?"
  21. Agree, but so was Hunter Biden. Big difference. Trump took his "mini" empire and grew it. He created jobs. It's more about what you do with it than how you got it. I don't know whether anything cited in your article is true or not. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter if it was 1 million, 10 million, or 400 million. He didn't abuse it. He put the money to work and made it better. Thousands of people benefited as did the economy. People can downplay Trump all they want, it doesn't take away from the fact that his policies are better for this country than what anyone else out there has to offer.
  22. I've got a better idea. If you burn the flag, then you lose your American citizenship and get dropped off in Mexico. Trumps being nice.
  23. From beginning to end? Without a doubt.
