  1. Yes. Schedule looks pretty brutal. Not sure who they return next year in the way of talent, but coaching losses could make a significant impact.
  2. Over/under 7.5
  3. Any chance we can get some transcripts?
  4. Sometimes the biggest win is off the football field. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/high-school/2024/01/12/indiana-football-coaches-association-announces-good-works-team-for-2023/72164231007/

  5. We said that when Elkhart became a mega school. Like you always say............"show me."
  6. I'll just agree that "storied" and "relevant" are not synonyms. Even though I didn't make a correlation between the two.
  7. I get the "eh," but Penn still seems to be part of the conversation every year whether they come through or not. Hence "relevant."
  8. It's not the 90's, but they're still relevant.
  9. Depends on so called "stories."
  10. But a relevant program nonetheless.
  11. I agree. "Storied" and "best" are certainly two different things. I'm curious if anyone out there has an opinion as to why it could be "arguable." Being from Northern Indiana, I'll admit that I'm a bit biased toward the Irish. Who would the potential candidates be? Alabama, USC, or Michigan? Help me out here..............Knute Rockne All American, Rudy, and?
  12. "Arguably." I've got Notre Dame. Probably depends on what area of the country you reside.
  13. I actually wasn't meaning to compare DeBoar to Weiss. I think DeBoar has proven to be a very high level head football coach. Weiss never reached that status. I think my point was this: If the gamble pays off, then great. DeBoar will have achieved success at arguably the most storied program in college football. And if he doesn't? He still parachutes out a rich man and lives happily ever after.
  14. Agree. No one can blame the guy for taking it. I've just seen many good careers go south going from one gig to another. Doesn't really matter from a monetary standpoint. Charlie Weiss is a good example of getting rich from being a lousy head football coach. At the end of the day, good coach or bad coach, they all end up with one hell of a retirement.
  15. I guess we'll see. To his credit, he has won everywhere he's been. SEC is a different beast though.
  16. I'll never understand a move like this, but that's just me. To each their own. Reminds me of when Rich Rodriguez had the world at his finger tips when he was at West Virginia. It was all downhill from there. DeBoer is pretty revered in Washington and the move to the Big Ten was pretty exciting for their program. Again, to each their own.
  17. I really don't believe what I just said. I think Michigan has a very good team and is worthy of that championship trophy. I just wanted to reel you back into the conversation. Enjoy that champagne, it's been a long time for Wolverine fans.
  18. Congratulations to the Wolverines on their championship and ringing one up for the Big 10. Far and away the weakest field since the inception of the four team playoff. But a championship trophy none the less.
  19. He said "out." I think he means it. He'll be back sooner than later.
  20. I've been to the Big House. It's big, but that's about it. That being said, how nice their stadium is has no bearing on the fact that they are the best team in college football and just crowned themselves champions. What's disturbing to me is what college football has become and the lengths some will go (or is it most) to achieve success (or maybe it's just the income). Money corrupts the majority. I think a coach nowadays will do whatever it takes to secure his seven figure salary and over inflated ego. Many are guilty of it, not just Harbaugh. Anyway, congrats to the Wolverines, and glad this drama filled season is over with.
  21. Lol, there's a lawsuit for everything. I get it though. I work in a professional industry.
  22. All or none. It would have to be an NCAA rule.
  23. Ok, so how about just "pay us back for the last semester?"
  24. A free education is no longer good enough? "We brought you here to play football and get an education that other students are going deep into debt for. Play in the bowl game or pay us back for the last semester." College football (Division 1) is a clown show, no more, no less.
  25. Thank God for high school football. Still clean and pure compared to any other level of play. I think we fans, as much as anyone else affiliated with college football, have sold our souls to the devil in some way shape or form. I think we can all admit that college football has turned into an utter joke. Do whatever it takes to win, even if it's not legal. Where's Bob Knight when we need him? He would have made a great NCAA president. This isn't a slam on Harbaugh, it's a slam on the clown show that college football has become. Just a random thought before gearing up for another season of the Fighting Irish. Guilty.
