  1. Week 9 WRC Power Rankings:

    1. North Vermillion

The Falcons look like they're rolling again this year. Do they have what it takes to wrap up the WRC title by beating a vastly improved Seeger team?

    2. Parke Heritage

The Wolfs can't wait to get another shot at North Vermillion in the sectional. Both teams had better not get distracted thinking ahead or they could find themselves on the outside looking in

    3. Seeger

The surprise team of the WRC is the Fighting Mel Gibsons. Herb has turned the program around and has to be licking his chops with the athletes they have coming up through their feeder system. The man is a legend.

    4. Attica

The Red River Ewes will be a tough out in the tournament if they can stay healthy. The way they do more with less over there impressive.

    5. TIE - South Vermillion and Covington

The Men of Troy are RED HOT!!! The Mildcats? Not so much. Although I've heard that the Coach Barrett visor and speedo calendars are selling like hot cakes. The Corner Stop can't keep them in stock!!

    7. Riverton Parke

The Panthers played the Wolfs a lot closer than people thought Friday night. If a few plays go differently the Panthers might have been holding the County Championship.

    8. Fountain Central

The season can't get over fast enough in Veedersburg. The Mustangs will rise again though.

  2. This type of weather is EXACTLY the reason why you should make sure that the endzone camera you purchase has rain gear. One of the best features of the Hi-Pod X31 is that it's well protected for use in bad weather. The only issue that I've heard of is you might only be able to extend it to 25 feet instead of the normal 31 feet if the wind is too severe.

As the season moves into October and November in Indiana you're bound to have some dicey weather. MAKE SURE YOUR ENDZONE CAMERA IS PREPARED!!!!

Yep, looks like we’re getting wet tonight! Let’s just hope it’s rain only and no lightning so we don’t have to delay/postpone.

If I'm getting wet tonight it's because I'm taking my family on another weekend vacation to Great Wolfs Lodge. We can't get enough of the place.

On a side note, does anyone know if Brian Moore or Herb King have a personal towel assistant for nights like tonight? I would be honored to serve in such capacity for either of them

Tanka is consulting with Coach Moore.  He'll get back to you soon.

    This is an incorrect assumption.

The wrc coach I would choose to consult with would be Herb King. Herb is a sly tactician with the skill and cunning of Loki.

But have you heard about endzone cameras???

They have single handedly changed the game of football. Endzone cameras are probably the most important football invention since headphones.

Wolves roster is dwindling down. Here’s a Facebook post north vermillion can share on their Facebook instead of questioning why we wouldn’t play them. Didn’t you beat us by 2 in the jv game? We were scared to play after the beating Friday and the JV game earlier in year probably!

-2 JV players with broken legs vs Covington JV, both required surgery via Facebook parents page last week.

-2 more players vs Sheridan JV, one concussion and 1 ankle sprain, neither have returned.

-1 player down still with broken ribs.

    thats 5 JV players out.

    varsity injuries

-Christian young-calf strain out for this week.

-Max sliz-taken off in a stretcher with. broken back hasn’t played in 6 weeks.

-Jentre Jeffers-broken ankle- hasn’t played all season.

-Caleb price-broken arm, surgery last week, done for year.

-Anthony wood-collarbone, done for year, surgery yesterday.

-will sauter-concussion, hasn’t played in weeks.

-Quentin Hanks-High ankle sprain, won’t play this week.

-Wittenmyer-down with concussion #2 on year.

-Mike Tidwell-played first game Friday vs Falcons all season after shoulder injury.

thats 5 JV kids down and 7(potentially 8 ) varsity starters down this week vs the panthers.

To start the season, we were mostly 1 way players except a few exceptions.

We played Sheridan last week with 15 kids. 2, possibly 3 of them will be starting Friday vs the panthers.

Sir, I would like to make a donation of milk to the Parke Heritage football program since clearly, they have a calcium deficiency / bone density problem, as long as goat milk isn't a problem. My friend RedwoodCowTippers has a herd, branded Redwood Alpines, and I know he'll cut me a sweet deal on their milk.

When and where can I deliver the milk for the Parke Heritage Wolfs football team?

I’ve found that the length of the camera tripod shaft is not the most important factor in getting good video.  It is much more important what’s at the end of the pole that counts and also who is operating it.  I’ve seen satisfying video from the longer tripods, but have also seen some impressive footage from someone with the much smaller systems such as the Manfrotto 504HD with aluminum legs, mid spreader and a padded bag.
    That is a professional rig!

What size system do you use, Tanka Jahari?

I assume you are a videographer yourself?

I really like the Sideline Power High Riser HD camera. It is pricey though.

Personally, to get the most bang for my buck, I would go with the Hi-Pod X31. They offer an outstanding warranty as well.

I have done some videography in the past along with some chefin.

  7. Week 8 Wabash River Conference power poll:

    1. North Vermillion

The Falcons somehow were able to withstand the juggernaut Wolfs. I was told that the atmosphere at Gibson field Friday night was incredible. If they meet again in the post-season, expect the Wolfs to win the rematch.

    2. Parke Heritage Wolfs

Even though they lost Friday, the Wolfs still maintained juggernaut status with their high powered offense. I know Coach Moore will have them ready for this week's brawl with county rival Riverton Parke. Few people know this, but the real reason behind consolidation of Turkey Run and Rockville was that the Rox were no longer able to beat Riverton Parke in football, dropping their final two games to the Panthers. To fix that, Rockville annexed Turkey Run and the rest is history.

    3. Tie - Seeger and South Vermillion

Which force is more powerful, Greg Barrett's dancing or Herb King's singing? Both football programs are trending up. I'm really looking forward to seeing what Herb can do with the Patriots in the coming seasons. Friday night should be the game of the week in the WRC between these two teams. But seriously, would you rather watch Greg Barrett dance or listen to Herb King sing?

    5. Attica

Not to take anything away from the Men of Troy, but I didn't see them beating Attica as a good possibility. Were there special circumstances that led to that outcome?

    6. Covington

Look for the Men of Troy to finish their regular season with a winning record at 5-4. This is a team capable of pulling off an upset in the sectional.

    7. Riverton Parke

This is just the second time the Panthers have won 3 or more games since 2011. Riverton Parke is on the upswing.

    8. Fountain Central

There is not really much to talk about here. The Mustangs will return to their successful ways sooner than later.

  8. Who's hungry? Because I'm here to serve farm fresh fart sandwiches for one and all. Bon Appetit!

I know you all want to gloat because the Parke Heritage Wolfs lost the game Friday. That is your right to do with what you want. However, I don't look at life through rose colored glasses because I live in reality. I believe the Wolfs are still a better team than the Miners.

I think the Wolfs would win because their run and gun style of offense would be a nightmare for the Miners to try to defend.

Ive never heard of any formal protocol, but usually the home team has their tripod set up in the end zone before the visitors arrive.  If not, then its up for grabs by the visitors.  Also, we have had both EZ cameras in the same end zone multiple times, and it doesnt cause any issues.

You have now after reading this topic. This is the formal endzone camera protocol.

I'm still not sold on having both team's endzone cameras set up in the same endzone. I would think there could be some serious tower measuring contests in that situation. Imagine one team having a standard endzone camera that goes up maybe 25 feet. Then the other team shows up with a Hi-Pod X-31 and dwarfs the 25 footer with an extra 6 feet of extension. Hard feelings could be had.

I know of absolutely no "protocol" for filming.  As the home team your there first.  Set it up.  Or have your athletic director draw up a map and tell the visitors where they are allowed to put their camera.  I don't intend to mock you but no team should have to wait to see where the home team sets up. When it comes to end zone film what difference does it make?  I believe what you are calling protocol is actually a pet peeve.

CoachKJ, what you have suggested with having the athletic director draw up a map telling visitors where they're allowed to put their endzone camera is a brilliant idea. It's that kind of forward thinking that leads to cutting edge innovation.

I appreciate your perspective and experience. Having said that, there is definitely a protocol for endzone camera placement and it has nothing to do with any pet peeves.

Speaking of pet peeves, the biggest one I ever saw was on my Aunt's Great Dane.

  11. Good morning my friends. I'm fresh off of a great weekend spent with my family at Great Wolfs Lodge. I have been told there was a good football game played in Cayuga Friday night.

    North Vermillion at Fountain Central

    South Vermillion at Seeger

    Tri-County at Covington

    Riverton Parke at Parke Heritage

    Attica at North Central Farmersburg

Brian Moore doesn't teabag people, he potato sacks them.

What about trade tape protocol. I don't know why some coaches employ the tactic where they have two filmers on the box. One a competent filmer with a HD camera using a tripod and the other a freshman with a handheld piece of junk, then send the latter as the trade film. I understand why endzone film is not traded.

That seems bush league to me. It seems to go against the spirit of sportsmanship.

I haven't heard of anyone trading their endzone camera recordings. It's probably too valuable to pass around willy nilly.
