  1. He fell victim to one of the classic blunders. First. Never get into a land war in Asia. The Second. Never argue meat packing with a Titan fan.
  2. Mater Dei was 3A for four years circa 2003-2006. I believe that was the one and only time the IHSAA tried to do a four-year enrollment classification. I think the Wildcats played both Heritage Hills and Gibson Southern a few times during those postseason‘s.
  3. I can’t imagine a fully seeded semi state or regional as long as there is an all-in tournament. (Which isn’t going away.) Imagine last year for example. Hey, Princeton, you were 1-8. So for your sectional game you will be on the road against Batesville (or Lawrenceburg).
  4. I guess we just assume a SIAC school will win Sectional 32, so that's why we are talking about it? 😄 Although 24 has been won by an SIAC school since 2013 - and that was Jasper's Big 8 days. At least I think that is the case.
  5. Big news for the Bulldogs. Congrats, Bosse! https://www.courierpress.com/story/sports/high-school/2024/04/19/bosses-enlow-field-will-be-upgraded-with-new-turf-field-stadium-roof/73278322007/
  6. I think Castle will be improved and should crack the top 10. Maybe slotted in for Bloomington North around 9. East Central really intrigues me too. I think they could have won 5A last year, but they will have to replace almost every offensive skill player, including Mr. Football. Weeks 1-3 and 9 are the only games where you could judge their relative strength until playoffs.
  7. This was the poorly constructed 2019 grouping: As you mentioned - a LOT of fluctuation in the Southwest corner of the state. Brown County (2A), Pike Central (2A), and Sullivan (2A) as well as Washington (4A) are no longer in 3A. Brownstown and Salem (Both 2A) and Bosse & Charlestown (4A) are also out of the mix. There would need to be some serious rationalizing to put a West Vigo, Owen Valley, or Corydon in place of the 8 schools that would make up the SW Indiana 3A Sectional.
  8. I don't know that this is true. Seeding itself would not cause conferences to break up. A playoff qualifying proposal would though, IMO. Last year's 2-7 Mater Dei team may not have qualified, but were a 12th man on the field away from competing for a deep playoff run.
  9. With Boonville and now Washington already there. South Spencer, Forest Park dropping to 1A and Pike to 2A - I think maybe the PAC should split permanently. Maybe even call up SR to the big leagues, unless they are hell bent on padding the trophy case.
  10. HH- GS is going to end up being like Brownstown- Lawrenceburg. 2016-17 Semi state one year, sectional semifinal the next.
  11. Mater Dei and Memorial both move into 3A. They were in the same sectional during the mid-00’s but will be again.
  12. Indiana Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association board? The IIAAA? I have never heard of that group, and to be honest I am not sure how it could be much different than an IHSAA board. Don't really care to know the difference either. There is a quote circulating around social media the last week or so. Something to the affect of "Schools are being run by the same people who wouldn't dress out for Phys Ed." Seems appropriate in this case as well.
  13. I'm assuming the process must have started a long time ago... that is a quick turnaround. Best of luck!
  14. Quick. Someone tell Snider its championship is devalued since 5A only had 31 teams last year.
  15. Love the enthusiasm, but my eyes went cross-eyed trying to figure this out.
