  1. I can promise you, being close to this program that there is ZERO talk about New Pal this week. Absolutely ZERO!!! Decatur Central is not being taken lightly on the hill.
  2. The one thing that I will say is that this is a much more improved and overall better team than what New Pal faced in week 2.
  3. Some wanted to see the 5A bracket split North and South. 5A State Tourney Seeded North-South.pdf
  4. Here is the 6A bracket split North South. The number in parenthesis is the overall rank in sagarin 6A rankings. 6A State Tourney Seeded North-South.pdf
  5. I can do that for 5A and 6A but the other classes I am just going to post the overall and not break it down that much.
  6. In the team email yesterday they said there will not be a Touchdown Club Tailgate at Brebeuf for whatever reason. So make sure you eat before arriving, no food at this one.
  7. I know that my son is not overlooking this one. He's had this one circled on the calendar since the schedule came out.
  8. @PHJIrish was I correct in the location being on 16th St across from Bush Stadium?
  9. It's ignorant, because your are lacking knowledge due to the fact that it's not about money. It's about land. Where would they find a property large enough in a close proximity to the school to build a football stadium? That's why Arlington is the best option. So just to generalize and make a comment that you did, shows ignorance to Cathedral's situation. Remember, there is a difference between ignorance and stupidity.
  10. I believe if I am not mistaken, when Cathedral was at 10th and Meridian, they played at what is now Kuntz Soccer Stadium across from the old Bush Stadium on 16th Street. @IndianaWrestlingGuy1 isn't that where your dad played when he was a stud defensive lineman?
  11. I would definitely agree with this. I also know that know that getting passed Decatur Central isn't going to be a cake walk. I know it will take a great game to beat New Pal. New Pal's schedule is a joke, they even know it, but all they can do is line up and play who is on there. I would hate to be in a position where you try to better your schedule by dropping an 0-5 football team and adding a 2-3 team, but I give them credit for at least attempting to improve it. Kyle Ralph, a Saint X Bomber himself, is an outstanding coach and I am sure does the best he can with the struggle that is managing playing a weak schedule. Congrats to Charlie Spegal on his accomplishments and I wish nothing but the best for that young man and all the great athletes at New Pal. Charlie doesn't fit the mold of what college programs are looking for in a running back, but he is a great football player and that's why he is getting the preferred walk-on options at Power 5 schools. Not fitting the mold is not Charlie's fault, there is just certain criteria that immediately make them uncheck your box, height would be my guess in Charlie's case. I could be wrong but I know other great running backs that took visits and the first thing they do is measure the height and then say thanks for coming and enjoy the game, and they heard nothing else from that school. Yes it is unfortunate, but that's just the way things are. Like I already said, no hate here, and I know plenty of other Cathedral parents that share the same opinion as myself. I look forward to my son and his teammates having the chance to knock off a great team with a historic player. To beat them would allow my son to say, yeah Charlie Spegal was a tremendous player, but we stopped him from winning state the year he broke the record. That's not disrespect, but an honor. You play the game to win and beat the best. I look forward to that game if both teams are fortunate enough to get there. Hopefully both teams stay healthy and we see what I would call the most anticipated Regional match up in quit a few years.
  12. My apologies, I left out the word likely. So it should have read, "Not likely." No disrespect was meant. To answer your question, I believe that Avon and Brownsburg are better teams this year than CG. CG is still a very good team, but very young at key positions. They have also started to not run the Wing-T as much now that they have a quarterback that can actually throw a nice ball. So with that comes growing pains, like pass blocking. It is no secret that CG kids run that system starting in 1st and 2nd grade, so pass blocking is truly never taught. So to ask a bunch of young men who have never pass blocked to all of the sudden do it, you get lots of holds, which I am sure the New Pal fans noticed week 2. They are a very talented team made up of a bunch of great players. Their junior and sophomore glass are very talented and will more than likely win state the next two seasons.
  13. Great response 1906! A supportive Cathedral comment at that, hopefully our success so far this season has improved your opinion of our boys.
  14. There are two expectations at Cathedral. 1. Win State 2. Beat Chatard Fail at #1 and season can be respectable. Complete #1 and fail at #2 is also acceptable. Fail at both and that season is never to be spoken of or mentioned ever again. 😂
  15. No worries. It's only Tuesday and I am ready for this match up. I hope it is as good as the last game we played at Arlington.
  16. I thought the field was in excellent condition. Heard that Turfdogs, the officail grounds crew of Cathedral, put between $5k to $10k into the field and it showed. They had started work on it back in April. A beautifully crowned grass field is a great site to see in 2019 at the 5A level.
