The Butler Bowl I believe costs $10,000 for the evening when we play there. Tech runs $1,500 and they keep concessions as well and Cathedral gets the gate. Compared to gate and concessions at Arlington and I don't think they pay any fee to use the field. The other thing that I know will help is the attendance of the student body. Arlington being right by school really helps get the students who live in Hamilton County to the games, compared to having to drive all the way downtown to Tech. Just my opinion though.

Mid-Season Player Transfer
IndplsCathedral_Dad replied to Payne's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
This was in the best interest of the young man. Dad made poor "white collar" choices and will be going away for awhile. The parents have since separated and I believe the mother now lives in the Indian Creek school district, which is why Indian Creek was the school of choice. Kudos to Coach Moore and the CG Athletic Department for signing off on this for this young man and not making his life any more difficult than his father has already made it for him. I believe he's already had 2 ACL tears and has rehabbed twice to come back. Kid deserves to play based on that alone in my book. Best of luck to this young man! -

Yes, I keep forgetting that Dwenger is in 5A now. -

So what you're saying is, in 5A they will award the champion in one of the South Regional Finals? Haha, no disrespect. Cathedral vs New Pal would be a regional match up if they both win their sectional. Sounding like Valpo is the favorite to come out of the North as of right now. -

I am hearing that Steele won't be back until October 11th against Lawrence North. Precautionary reasons kind of like how the Irish did with Markese Stepp. Carson is going to have a great career at the next level and now that CG has other backs that can help lessen his workload, I think keeping him out longer is a smart play on the Trojan staff. -
Bishop Chatard vs. Cathedral
IndplsCathedral_Dad replied to PHJIrish's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I would not be surprised if your expectation is very accurate. We definitely beat an outstanding football team in the Trojans. Not sure I see anyone in 3A taking them down. Sadly, it appears the IHSAA has turned a potential state championship game into a sectional match-up between West Lafayette and Chatard. I will say winner of Sectional 28 will be favored to take 3A, probably beating Gibson Southern in the title game. -
Got the run down this morning that the field is in excellent condition. Cathedral's grounds team, Turfdogs, has done a hell of a job on it. Being grass with no games or practices on it this season, the field is in awesome condition is the report I got from a pretty informed source. I was told the field is firm and even if it thunderstorms between now and then it will remain in great shape. Looking forward to a great game between these two storied programs. I will see you all tomorrow at the tailgate! Go Irish!

Gibson Southern @ Southport
IndplsCathedral_Dad replied to DumfriesYMCA's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
We scrimmaged Southport along with Decatur Central. Roncalli and Perry Meridian are not quality opponents this year. No disrespect, but stating the hard facts. High school football is always better when Roncalli is relevant and they will get back, because they in their own right have an outstanding young sophomore quarterback. I don’t know enough to comment on CN, usually a quality opponent though. My son and I will try and make this game, Mr Allen and I always kept the book and the clock during summer ball games together, good dude. Best of luck to the Titans! -
Cathedral at Cincinnati Elder

Irish lost the contest in 2002 45-30. Not a great season in 2002 for the Irish! -

Yes sir, you being around the block, you should surely know that Elder has zero parking. Coming from a Elder gentleman at last years game told me, if you are not there 1.5 to 2 hours early, you will be walking two miles to the stadium. 10,000 seat capacity and zero parking, not a hard equation to figure out. Not sure what the difference is if I meet you alone or with other dads. I and we want nothing more than to put the face with the name of the gentleman who feels the need to constantly put our boys down. Even calling a few out by name. That way when our boys continue to prove that they are a good team, who is only going to get better, they know who truly has supported them and who has doubted them. So take my advice and leave straight from the Blend, because I'd hate for you to have to walk all that way. -

Mencer and Goheen by name in the All Things 5A thread. Sorry, bus is leaving early to get into Elder's small school lot. You will have to come meet the group as a whole. -

There is a group of us wanting to meet you. Just walk up and introduce yourself as 1906, we are all eager. You can have your opinions that fine, but when you call out some of our boys by name on a forum behind a username, that's where it becomes a problem. See you Friday, by the way, get there early. Parking far and walking two miles won't be an acceptable excuse for not showing up. -

Please stop by the bus at the next tailgate at Arlington on the 13th against Chatard. That way us team dads can introduce ourselves to you in person instead of on here hiding behind these usernames. Bet you won't. -

This guy is a joke. He can hide behind his username on here, but we would love for him to come and introduce himself next game he actually goes to. -

Not sure how close you are to the program, but the sophomore class is loaded and they will get plenty of playing time this season at OL, WR, LB and a TE that's a freshman. They get through the regular season with minimal injuries and they will have plenty of depth and experience come tournament time with the young men and that schedule. Getting closer to the season I believe the OL has shifted from starting 3 sophomores to 4 seniors and 1 sophomore due to a summer transfer. -
