sagarin is only correct like 70% or so. that being said injuries in bhss kicking game and defense had their impact late in the season therfore their sag rating was already high before late season injuries . South lost an all state db in sectionals. But snider is used to challenging 6a contenders . I think snider will wear them down

@ptr I think south should schedule some tougher opposition. They need to have some exposure of elite teams get an idea of what it takes to be the best. However im not assure they even have that aspiration Also it was almost required that you attend football camp back in the day if you wanted to get any playing time at south . . And lastly Joe Smith was hard to follow again. He'd be rambling on about this or that and totally miss at times two plays would go by. I Remember him calling what happened on a first down then rambling on about something and all the sudden he'd say we'll that brings up 4th down here comes the punt team. He seemed really with it on other occasions then start losing it again. Poor Guy.

Now 0-5 in semistate since 1998. Again redistricting weakened the student body at south. I've known several all state players from neighborhood's south of bhss that now go to bhsn. And we'll we can't stay healthy with what we come with every year as well. Will take a lot for south to win a semistate again.... Almost did it in 2014 losing an ot game to Cathedral with one of the best teams I've seen at south. But just weren't enough. @ptrI think im leaning snider to beat DC too much history and pride at snider to lose at state. South put the clamps on the DC passing game last night however couldn't stop the run. Snider shut out Merrillville who beat the team that won state last season Valpo. But DC will be tough for a couple more seasons and with east central moving to 5a next year it's back to the drawing board I think..... I'm left forever wondering what a healthy south team that improved together each week would have looked like last night. A recurring pattern. Until next year . Have a great holiday season everyone.

Bloomington South @ Decatur Central- based on sagarin ratings and common opponents im going to have to stick with the Panthers. Sagarin has like a 70% success rate I believe I've read in the past. However as I said DC fans say they are a totally different team now..... And south did lose an all state db in the sectional title game. That shakes things up a bit . So all I can say is DC will have to prove it and they may do just that .....

Well I watched a little of the game. Hard to gauge their overall strength from the video I watched. I don't have a prediction so far . you can look at sagarin and like opponents etc etc and if you don't know anything about either team you probably lean towards south. knowing the injury situation makes it a bit more difficult . I read on a indiana high school football facebook page that Decatur has just got some injured players back . At any rate should be interesting.

Hoosier Hills Conference

If I could retire early from a real job I'd 'think' about it. Was shocked when I was a ref that a lot if the fans really don't know the rules of the game. -

I apologize for criticizing the officiating. I was a ref for one year and one year only for this exact reason. The outcome of the game was indicative of the two teams strengths. Looking back south won 47-0 the first game seymour made some progress in the weeks since and tacked 14 on the board. I too played during the scc era @ bhss. I can still hear our coach singing Lionel Richie's 'all night long' ( in an attempt to make light/ inspire us to play better) after our loss at seymour. He was referring to Michael Batts running all night long. So I have a respect for seymour . Congrats to them on a good season. -
Are there any archived games of Evansville north? I hesitated picking bhss since they lost regional last year . Are they a running team? Seems as if the Panthers have difficulty with passing teams. I'm still unsure since I've seen south only once . I favor south at semistate but that's only if they get past e north......

I've read several comments on random threads about the 5a representative from the south bracket at state will not be a bloomington school. And that ultimately whoever comes from the south bracket will not be able to handle snider. I have no idea since I have not seem snider and I'm far removed from the bhss Panthers. been to like 3 or four games in as many years. And with south being prone to injury as they have been in recent years they may not be a threat to win the state title at this point. But looking at the DC Whiteland match-up im not convinced they are at the level bhss is at this season. like opponents include martinsville who defeated DC and gave Whiteland a good game south handled martinsville with ease . My biggest concern is Evansville North at this point. If souths injurred db is able to play with a cast I would pick them to win the semistate if they get past Evansville north. And if we had our kicker still I felt we would have been competitive at state .
