I watched their rerun of the Martinsville game over the weekend and Ringer’s field position is some of the best I’ve seen in a while. Always stays inbounds and usually gets 5-7 more yards when he is being tackled. Miami (OH) got a good one right there.

Last 3 seasons in the SIAC, the undefeated champion has been knocked off in the sectionals. Only 2020 Central team was the one that advanced so far since the expansion. I think the “SIAC Curse” was brought up from one of the livestream commentators last year after Reitz lost to Boonville.

Castle comes into this game as the defending Sectional and Regional Champion, after coming off a Semi-State appearance last year. North is trying to look for its first sectional title since 2000 and will be exactly 23 years tomorrow. The Huskies are having their best season since 2007 going 7-3 and tied for 2nd place in the SIAC. The Huskies did start off slow going 2-2 their first 4 games and looked questionable on the offense and defense. However, the Huskies have won 5 out of their last 6 games and look a lot better. Offensively, the Huskies average around 347 YPG and score on average 31.0 PPG. They will throw the ball, but that has been overshadowed but their running game. As North has the biggest lines on both sides of the ball and has averaged around 212.2 YPG with multiple players that can run. Defensively they started out slow but have developed to be one of the top defenses in the SIAC late in the season, averaging around 212.2 YPG. Their passing game has seen a nice improvement too, only allowing 113.6 YPG on the year and being the only SIAC team to hold opponents under 10 yards per catch. Their run defense left off where it was last year being one of the top run defenses in the SIAC. Just like Reitz, North dominates in the backfield this season totaling over 100 TFLs and 39 sacks on the season. Castle was having a tough season, but has won 4 straight and is trying to win another sectional championship. Offensively, they have been pretty consistent, as they have some of the best running backs in the SIAC. Castle will average around 212.2 YPG and will run most of the time in games. However, while it has been inconsistent at some times, Castle will throw the ball too, since they average a nice 14 yards per catch. And the offensive line has done such a nice job of giving their running backs enough space to go through. And it helps that Castle has a great amount of speed in that backfield. While the offense has done a great job this season, there has been a good amount of inconsistencies defensively. Castle has been ranked pretty low in the SIAC for most of the season. Castle on average gives up 351.6 YPG in their games and has given up on average 21.1 PPG. Even though they have had their inconsistency problems, their passing defense is pretty good, only allowing around 125.0 YPG, and has only allowed 1 game over 200+ passing yards. Just like last year, Castle has struggled on rushing defense, giving up around 226.5 YPG and 6.19 yards per carry. But Castle has found a way and is back in the sectional championship yet again. This one is definitely a game to tune into tomorrow!

The Tigers are making their 8th straight appearance and looking for a 3rd straight title and 7 titles over the last 8 years. The Panthers have been unblemished throughout the season so far and knocked off a good opponent last week against BNL on the road. The Panthers have been consistently a top as one of the best offensive teams in the SIAC and in 4A. Averaging around 367.5 YPG and 35.3 PPG. Their passing game has been around the top in the SIAC at around 179.4 YPG and averaging 15.41 yards per catch behind their QB/WR duo. Since they have one of the best swiss-army players I have seen with WR/QB Vera and a very good receiver in Summers. Their Offensive line has been solid the entire year too, giving enough time for their QB to throw and their rushing attack to mold. Their rushing attack is still consistent this year after losing Burnett, as the Panthers have a few guys who can run the ball and make some plays. As a team, they average about 188.1 YPG and have scored 29 touchdowns so far. Arguably their best area, the Panthers are a defensive beast everywhere on the field. They live and breathe in opponent backfields gathering 94 TFLs and 46 sacks this year. While holding opponents around 200 YPG and 7.4 PPG. The Tigers are back in the sectional championship again for the 8th straight year since the 2016 season. And they get a home game for the sectional championship for the first time since the 2020 season. Memorial has had an interesting season so far, as they started off 6-0 and then fell into a slumber toward the end of the season. However, the Tigers are on a 2-game win streak in the postseason. Offensively, Memorial had a consistent offense up until QB1’s injury and has been questionable for the last several weeks going through 3 quarterbacks. And has averaged 264.3 YPG throughout the season. The Tigers have found a little something at QB with Ellspermann, however, still a lot of questions regarding offense. The rushing attack has averaged around 109.3 YPG this season and faced an injury bug in the middle of the season. Defensively, this is where the Tigers are strong, as they averaged 11.9 PPG on the season and have averaged around 215 YPG. The Tigers have averaged around 89.0 YPG in passing allowed, which tops the SIAC, and have picked QB 14 times so far. Surprisingly, Memorial’s run defense has seen a massive improvement since last year, as they also have been one of the top rushing defenses in the SIAC averaging around 126.5 YPG. And earlier in the season, led the SIAC in everything for a couple of weeks. The Tigers have playmakers on the defense, including a quick defensive line and one of the best linebackers in the State. Should be a good one tomorrow night at Enlow! But if you remember, Reitz dominated the first matchup winning 34-0 and blanking the Tigers offensively, we will see how this one go for round 2!
