Anyone from VL know if the game will be streamed anywhere on Friday? There was mention last week of the Reitz game being streamed but no word yet on MD @ VL.

Apologies upfront if I am violating any GID rules or policies for posting this link from Channel 14 but I think stories like this need to be shared as widely as possible as there is too little "good news" and too few inspiring stories these days. 2A State Championship: Mater Dei vs Andrean
MDAlum82 replied to MDAlum82's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Well, not the ending we wanted but a great game, nonetheless. Both Defenses showed their strength and, in the end, a fumble deep in MD territory turned the tide. #34, Bowen was the best player on the field. He took the game over in the 2nd half, leading Andrean to a well earned victory. Congrats to the 59'ers. As for the Wildcats, not the end result we wanted but so very proud of the team & its overall effort Saturday. The Defense came to play and the Offense gave it their best but came up short against an equally strong Andrean defense. I knew Andrean would be bigger in some areas but it seemed every player at every position had about 20 lbs on us. 💪 In the end, we came up a little short but we could not be more proud of the team and the overall season! Thanks to this awesome group of Seniors: Tyler Martin, James Ralph, Nicholas, Boots, Eli McDurmon, Will Carter, Cole & Dane Wilson, Pierce Wolters, Bryce Humphrey, JT Mayer, Calvin Stratman, Ryan VanBibber, Luke Burgdorf, Jay Schiff, Nathan Koressel, Colin Maurer, Mason Eichoff, & Landon Elpers... Thanks for your leadership, dedication & effort over the past 4 years. Your collective effort has once again lifted the team, the school, and the West Side community and given us something to take our minds off all the other craziness going on the world...if only for a few hours a week. Can't wait until next year... -
2A State Championship: Mater Dei vs Andrean

Putting on my Captain Obvious hat, I think this game can go either way and the team that makes the fewest mistakes, likely wins. Both offenses can run & pass well enough to put pts on the board and both D's are strong upfront with a crew of LBs who fly to ball and make plays all over the field. I think Victory will ultimately rest on the Defensive side of the ball. As another poster already pointed out, this game could come down to whichever team can limits the other's passing game. My hope is that MD can find a way to get an extra stop, force a TO, or benefit from a miscue by Andrean and find a way to put 1 more point on the board. It has been a long drought for the Wildcats at LOS but hopefully we can find enough magic to bring it home again. MD 24 - 21. 🦁 Hoping all fans travel safely and we get a well-played and injury free game for all involved. Peace. -

Nice human interest article on the Boots family from Mater Dei. The 3 brothers mentioned are just one branch of this family tree, there are many others. I don't know the exact numbers but I think there have been nearly 2 dozen young men from the Boots family to pass through the MD program over the decades. https://www.14news.com/2021/11/24/boots-family-football-legacy-lives-mater-dei/ -

If you get the $15 pkg to watch all the games, you have access to all of them through June next year, something like that. By that time, they will likely be posted on YouTube. I watched both MD & Memorial last night and the Andrean game this morning and plan to be watching & cheering on the Titans at 5 pm today. -
EASTSIDE @ ANDREAN

Copied directly from your post: "Can you still win Mr. Football if you rush for 13 yards in the semi-state?" I'm guessing we could all figure out who you were talking about with this comment...and it was not the person you were flaming - which is my point. This is about the player who had no role in your flame-a-thon. If "some dude" was "running his mouth", AND YOU WON THE GAME, why not take the high road? Lowering yourself to that level only reflects poorly on you. Again, just my humble opinion. Feel free to ignore and/or flame me. Been there, done that.
