  1. Anyone from VL know if the game will be streamed anywhere on Friday? There was mention last week of the Reitz game being streamed but no word yet on MD @ VL.
  2. Apologies upfront if I am violating any GID rules or policies for posting this link from Channel 14 but I think stories like this need to be shared as widely as possible as there is too little "good news" and too few inspiring stories these days. 3. Re-thinking some of these much too wide spreads, I am altering my week 2 picks accordingly: Pick 'Em for Week 2 Castle [+14.5] at Mater Dei Central [-28.5] at Bosse Memorial [-15.5] North Reitz [-12.5] at Vincennes Forest Park [-6.5] at Perry Central New Albany [+28.5] at Gibson Southern Pike Central [+25.5] at Tecumseh Princeton [+22.5] at North Posey Southridge [-6.5] at Boonville Heritage Hills [-27.5] at Tell City
  4. Massey has MD as a slight 2 pt favorite. No idea who would give Castle 2 TDs vs MD this week.
  5. Week # 2 Picks Castle [+14.5] at Mater Dei Central [-28.5] at Bosse Memorial [-15.5] North Reitz [-12.5] at Vincennes Forest Park [-6.5] at Perry Central New Albany [+28.5] at Gibson Southern Pike Central [+25.5] at Tecumseh Princeton [+22.5] at North Posey Southridge [-6.5] at Boonville Heritage Hills [-27.5] at Tell City
  6. Mater Dei up 14 to 0 over Central. MD driving w under 2 mins til half
  7. Caste > North Jasper > Memorial Bosse> Vin. B'ville > Paoli Princeton > FP GS > THS HH > MTV NP > SS TC > PC Tec > ND
  8. Well, not the ending we wanted but a great game, nonetheless. Both Defenses showed their strength and, in the end, a fumble deep in MD territory turned the tide. #34, Bowen was the best player on the field. He took the game over in the 2nd half, leading Andrean to a well earned victory. Congrats to the 59'ers. As for the Wildcats, not the end result we wanted but so very proud of the team & its overall effort Saturday. The Defense came to play and the Offense gave it their best but came up short against an equally strong Andrean defense. I knew Andrean would be bigger in some areas but it seemed every player at every position had about 20 lbs on us. 💪 In the end, we came up a little short but we could not be more proud of the team and the overall season! Thanks to this awesome group of Seniors: Tyler Martin, James Ralph, Nicholas, Boots, Eli McDurmon, Will Carter, Cole & Dane Wilson, Pierce Wolters, Bryce Humphrey, JT Mayer, Calvin Stratman, Ryan VanBibber, Luke Burgdorf, Jay Schiff, Nathan Koressel, Colin Maurer, Mason Eichoff, & Landon Elpers... Thanks for your leadership, dedication & effort over the past 4 years. Your collective effort has once again lifted the team, the school, and the West Side community and given us something to take our minds off all the other craziness going on the world...if only for a few hours a week. Can't wait until next year...
  9. Fort Branch will always remember the Titans of 2021! Congrats on a great victory?
  10. GS with the game sealing INT. Turn out the lights...the party is just beginning in Fort Branch
  11. GS turnover on downs. Brebuef takes over on own 24 with 3:10left
  12. GS 3 & out. Brebuef takes over on own 45 yd line 7:41 to go
  13. Opponent is CLOCK at this point as much as Brebuef...
  14. GS 45 - 35. Had nice drive going with 2nd & 1 at Brebuef 35 and, instead of burning the clock with a couple of runs, GS threw 3rd INT on WR screen. SMH. Hart is smarter than that. Brebuef with a 3 & out. GS 45 - 35 9 mins to go
  15. Dropping the 4th & 21 pass btwn 3 DBs may have earned him a 5th star... However, as I type this Brebuef gets a TD to close within 10 pts...VERY NICE play by the DB to wipe out the 2 pt try. Can Brebuef get a stop this half?
  16. Apparently Shirley is not ready to go home just yet! Brebeuf dug a big hole for Titans but they have nearly made their way out. GS was in BIG TROUBLE but found a way to get a couple TOs and back within 1 to start 2nd half and they get the ball.
  17. Putting on my Captain Obvious hat, I think this game can go either way and the team that makes the fewest mistakes, likely wins. Both offenses can run & pass well enough to put pts on the board and both D's are strong upfront with a crew of LBs who fly to ball and make plays all over the field. I think Victory will ultimately rest on the Defensive side of the ball. As another poster already pointed out, this game could come down to whichever team can limits the other's passing game. My hope is that MD can find a way to get an extra stop, force a TO, or benefit from a miscue by Andrean and find a way to put 1 more point on the board. It has been a long drought for the Wildcats at LOS but hopefully we can find enough magic to bring it home again. MD 24 - 21. 🦁 Hoping all fans travel safely and we get a well-played and injury free game for all involved. Peace.
  18. Nice human interest article on the Boots family from Mater Dei. The 3 brothers mentioned are just one branch of this family tree, there are many others. I don't know the exact numbers but I think there have been nearly 2 dozen young men from the Boots family to pass through the MD program over the decades. https://www.14news.com/2021/11/24/boots-family-football-legacy-lives-mater-dei/
  19. I'm in...great way to support the GID and TA's legacy. I'm certain he will be in attendance with the best seats in the house! 😇
  20. 1A - Lutheran 2A - Mater Dei 3A - Gibson Southern 4A - Mt. Vernon Fortville 5A - Cathedral 6A - Center Grove I have the "Southern Slam", with a side of fingers crossed and possibly some humble pie...😎
  21. If you get the $15 pkg to watch all the games, you have access to all of them through June next year, something like that. By that time, they will likely be posted on YouTube. I watched both MD & Memorial last night and the Andrean game this morning and plan to be watching & cheering on the Titans at 5 pm today.
  22. Copied directly from your post: "Can you still win Mr. Football if you rush for 13 yards in the semi-state?" I'm guessing we could all figure out who you were talking about with this comment...and it was not the person you were flaming - which is my point. This is about the player who had no role in your flame-a-thon. If "some dude" was "running his mouth", AND YOU WON THE GAME, why not take the high road? Lowering yourself to that level only reflects poorly on you. Again, just my humble opinion. Feel free to ignore and/or flame me. Been there, done that.
