Not surprised - lots of week 2 opponents available per John Harrell's site. Would love to see Pioneer/LCC match up if LCC hasn't filled their week 2. 😎
Lcc is quarantining.

Winamac at Pioneer cancelled next week to to quarantine of Winamac players.

Knox vs southwood. Great job by both AD'S to get it done this quick.
Very good job on getting something scheduled this fast, I just don't think Southwood will be able to compete with Knox.

Will Winamac be back week 2?

Why can't he say that?
I'm not saying that he can't say it. I just wonder what benefit the comment provides to the rest of the conversation. Everyone knows that there is a very real possibility that this week and every other week may not be played depending on the decision makers and the situations from school to school, and it gets really frustrating that it keeps getting brought up in every conversation.
End rant.

Agree completely.
That is what is being missed by most discussions. The bus ride and locker rooms are probably the most dangerous places for viral transmission.... at least for guys who don’t play in the tackle box.
Why add another touch point/close contact when you don’t have to?
Serious question. Should visiting teams not be allowed to use the home teams locker rooms? Go back to the old junior high/ youth league days where players show up in game pants and get prepped on the sideline?

But how will the bro coaches chest bump the players??????

I'm assuming since it is unsafe for these student athletes to compete in sports that the universities will be shutting down this fall and not allowing students on campus? These players are safer being with their teams than the kids on campus crammed into dorms and into their non social distanced frat houses and classrooms.

With a few exceptions, baseball does socially distance naturally. Now if all the football coaches can run a serious spread offense...then we have something

Most recent state indications for football seasons per MaxPreps.
Teams starting outside of fall or undecided ... New Jersey is starting in October:
SPRING 2021
State – Start Date / Original Start Date
- California – Jan. 8 / Aug. 21
- District of Columbia – Feb. 22 / Aug. 28
- Colorado – Feb. 22 / Aug. 27
- Virginia – March 1 / Aug. 28
- New Mexico – March 4 / Aug. 17
- Nevada – March 5 / Aug. 14
- Washington – March 8 / Sept. 4
- Illinois – TBD / Aug. 28
- Minnesota – TBD / Aug. 28
- Maryland – TBD / Sept. 4
TO BE DETERMINED
State – Original Start Date
- Delaware – Sept. 11
- Hawaii – Sept. 4

I couldn’t imagine starting a football season in Indiana in February... We would have a hard time practicing since we wouldn’t get support to plow the field at Pioneer!

So, if we tested the population for flu as heavily as we are testing for Covid you don’t think numbers would be higher? Covid is no more a death sentence than the flu.
My question was to find out if these kids were knowingly around others with Covid and then attended the events or if they were symptomatic which led to the testing. It matters because parents and children were knowingly negligent or it was an honest mistake.
Regardless of shutdowns and cancellations, kids will be kids and will do the same damn things. People weren’t born to stay in captivity. Especially kids.

Life isn't always fair, Thats what my dad always preached to me.
Sometimes you do nothing wrong but get punished because others do.
We won't have nice things till everyone starts taking this serious.
Heard a bunch of kids have tested positive.
We’re Any of the rochester kids symptomatic? Anyone know what led to the testing?

Do you have to have a required amount of practices to have a scrimmage?
They are 1 more test positive away from not having a scrimmage and putting game 1 in jeopardy.
They are back to practice 8/3. They’ve been shut down since 7/21. They’ll be ready for Cass week 1.

I have tried to learn from the Marlins recent outbreak. For one, I have taken the drastic step of forbidding my high schooler of going to Atlanta strip clubs... I mean hot wing restaurants.
We’re still discussing how many nights he can go to bars though. Tough negotiator.
Have you seen how good those wings look though???

Its just funny how we are talking about limiting attendance at IHSAA games, when I have seen and been to several baseball games this season with packed stands and everything else. Only thing missing was the concession stand (actually had to cook this summer...). This summer has gone on as normal, albeit started later, for these sports, but it is magically going to be strikingly different when school starts? Gimme a break. The best thing for these kids is to get them back into a normal routine.
If you're scared stay home and let the rest of us do the living. Don't drag the rest of us down with you.

Who are the guy that you think will be breakout players for your team this year?
For Pioneer, I expect junior Brock Robinson to be a 2-way stand out at DB as well as at running back. He will be competing for touches with the Lewellen boys, but is very good with the ball in his hands. Pioneer will also be starting freshman Cayden Hill at QB and potentially at DB as well. He has some maturing to do mentally, but should be able to help out more and more as the season progresses.
