  1. Does AC post their stats online anywhere? I was curious to see what they lose statistically from graduation from last year's team. I checked MaxPreps and Digital Scout and couldn't find anything.
  2. We don't have any Jack Kiser's walking through the halls if that's what you're asking... We have a few kids that could step up and be pretty good for us this year, but most of our skill positions will be relatively new faces with different roles than they're used to playing.
  3. For Pioneer: Offensively, we lose leading rusher Brock Robinson, wingback Beau Mersch and linemen, Legrand (TE), Solano, Smith(TE) and Lowe. Defensively, we lose Legrand and Solano from the Dline, LB Smith and DB Robinson. We return a handful of experience on both sides of the ball, but we will need a lot of kids to step up who have limited varsity experience. I'd hazard a guess that we will see freshmen on the field on Fridays sooner rather than later due to the overall lack of depth we will have. Will definitely be an interesting year.
  4. In a normal 2 year period 2 points are needed to stay up a class. 1 point for sectional, 2 points for a Regional.
  5. Bingo. 2021 points still don't explain LCC being in 2A. I'm sure LCC is in the same mindset as Pioneer and others in regards to playing whoever whenever, but in the spirit of competitive fairness SSF should have been wiped clean if the IHSAA can't properly and evenly enforce it. Or better yet just get rid of it al together. I don't understand the thought process of punishing future teams for the success of the past.
  6. NJSP is a huge roadblock in sectional play for Pioneer. They return Harper at QB, who runs their option offense really well, Allen, who had over 2000 all purpose yards last season not to mention having the experience and hunger from making it to semi-state last year. They do lose Benson on both lines, but return the majority of the rest of their O and D next year if I'm not mistaken.
  7. I don’t know if it matters, but it looks like Southridge would have bumped regardless of success due to enrollment. This would leave Pioneer as the only team in the state affected by the 2020 points. As others have pointed out the IHSAA needs to provide an explanation on what’s going on. If there is this much confusion why not just wipe the success factor slate clean and restart with this cycle to get aligned?
  8. https://www.ihsaa.org/Portals/0/ihsaa/documents/quick resources/Enrollments & Classifications/2022-23 2023-24/2022-23 2023-24 Football Assignments.pdf The link has been updated to reflect Pioneer now in 1A sectional 41.
  9. The ones that come to mind from 2020 were Luers and Andrean. Makes a big difference when you have 15 kids playing nearly every snap for all three phases and you see Luers swapping out~7-8 kids as they go from offense to defense in semi state.
  10. I've posed this question elsewhere, but is Pioneer really even in 1A? They won a regional in 2020 which would keep us in 2A unless I missed a different rule posting than what was originally released. Between 1A and 2A just line us up and we'll play whoever. Our biggest issue at the 2A level is simply depth. Big difference going against teams with 40-60 kids on the roster compared to us only having 20-30 kids JV-Varsity.
  11. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/high-school/2022/05/01/ihsaa-board-directors-consider-proposals-annual-meeting/9607926002/ Looks like Tuesday per the IndyStar
  12. You are correct, we were 2A when this initially came out. This has to be some kind of system error/ typo.
  13. Pioneer is looking to fill multiple coaching positions available at the high school and Jr High level. For the high school we are looking for a JV Head Coach/varsity assistant. Pioneer currently has multiple teaching positions at the high school and elementary level: High School Openings: Math, Chemistry, Biology, Special Education and Guidance Counselor Elementary Openings: Two Positions (Grade TBD) Link to Job postings below https://www.applitrack.com/wabash/onlineapp/jobpostings/view.asp?district=1371&all=1 Please reach out to Varsity Head Coach Adam Berry at berrya@pioneer.k12.in.us

  15. My biggest complaint with the setup for the scrimmages is the player pitch counts. Coming from 1A enrollment Pioneer we have to drastically scale back the outlined plays generally so that we can meet the rules of the scrimmage generally having to play JV kids that simply aren't ready to play against varsity kids. Crazy to me considering that one week later these kids that were limited plays for "safety" will be allowed to go out and play all three phases week 1.
  16. This is the most apt phrase I've ever heard to describe Pioneer's football field. When we played North Judson week 9 we lost a couple of Freshmen in the divots 😂
  17. One would think that counting enrollments, posting said enrollments in an orderly fashion and creating sectional brackets that make sense would be easy as well but the IHSAA seems to have missed the memo...
  18. I can't see them adjusting sectionals mid cycle even for three teams. They should have just wiped the SF slate clean for all teams and moved forward until next cycle.
  19. So if I'm reading this correctly, success factor points will be based on 2020 and 2021 football seasons. So teams that were already bumped up after 2020 cycle get the same points tacked on a second time? That hardly seems fair in the scope of things.
  20. Any update from last week's meeting/ any idea when the minutes will be posted on the IHSAA site?
  21. In general, we teach our guys in coverage to be physical with the receivers early on in the game to try and gauge how flexible the crew will be. If crews are more "let them play" we will stay physical/ keep getting hands on the receivers, if they are more strict we will pull our guys back. I always tell the kids the first PI call is on me and I will never get on our backers for checking receivers that cross their faces. As for blown coverages on deep balls take the PI over a TD every time.
