-Jays will eviscerate the Cavs this week. Noticed Coach Lambert left most of his starters in throughout the end of the game last week even after the running clock was secured. Wonder if that was due to NM chippiness or just wanting players in full game shape. Panthers will secure the win over the Warriors and start a three week slog waiting for Judson. Thought NM played hard against Judson even with all of the turnover woes. Comets bounce back this week over the hapless Satellites. Agreed on the 7-2 regular season prediction. Winamac continues its trend of beating bad teams this week. As a side note, this might be the dirtiest playing Winamac team I have ever seen and that is truly saying something. Kudos to Coach Davis on that.

Week 5 is here and after 2 weeks of conference play, here are the standings. Here is this week's schedule... Who ya got!

North Miami @ North Judson- Jays win big Triton @ South Central- This may be the only opportunity for either team to get a win this year. Give me the Satellites after the drubbing the Trojans took from Culver last week. Culver @ Winamac- Crazy to see what happens when Winamac plays a non MWC team... Warriors bounce back this week over the Cavs. Pioneer @ Caston- Caston is much improved from last year. Their defense is flying around and their massive o-line is paving the way for their backs. Pioneer will have to play a clean game on both sides of the ball to win. I think the Panthers pull out a close on in Fulton.

Can't imagine Knox has the same number of botched snaps and mental mistakes as they did against Judson. Pioneer prepping for the wrath of Radtke after the Jay beatdown of Knox last week.

Hard to see Pioneer being #1 after losing 8 seniors and the majority of your offensive and defensive production from a year ago...

Is there a blurb page that goes into the merits of each player before voting commences? I've seen a ton of news on Myles and Jett but not much on the other guys. I'm sure I'm not the only ignorant one on this.

Pioneer @ South Adams- There are a lot of factors going into tonight's game that point to a Star Fire victory. Home field, no long bus ride, used to playing on turf, an offensive style the Panthers haven't seen, multiple offensive threats and a very stout defense. It will take an all out near perfect game, but I like the Panthers in this one in an extremely close game. South Putnam @ Milan- I think that the Eagles cruise in this one early and maintain through the final horn. Milan has had a great season but South Putnam's schedule has prepped them for this moment.

Get rid of the success factor. Nothing like punishing future kids for the hard work and success of those that came before them. If you don't like other teams having success, get better.

And then there were four. Who's punching their ticket to Lucas Oil this Friday?

South Adams @ North Miami- This might be a game where whoever scores last wins. I don't think either team will be super successful on defense, but I think the Star Fires will score on more possessions than the Warriors. Sheridan @ South Putnam- I think that the Black Hawks weak schedule finally catches up with them and the Eagles will mow through them in short order on their way to SS. Milan @ Providence- Milan's season comes to an end while the Pioneers keep on chugging. LaVille @ Pioneer- I think this will ultimately be a low scoring affair. Both defenses come in playing extremely well and both teams are very well coached. This one will come down to who gives up the fewest big plays and who turns the ball over the least. Gimme the Panthers in a close one.

1A Elite 8! Who ya got?

West Central @ LaVille- Lancers win this one convincingly. Frontier's Midwest Conference schedule does them no favors prepping for the post season. Pioneer @ Carroll- Panthers win this in a close one. Cougars only losses coming to Sheridan, Eastern and 3A Maconaquah. Whoever creates the most big plays and limits turnovers will win this one. Fremont @ N. Miami- Warriors ball control offense and tough defense pushes them to the regionals. Hagerstown @ S. Adams- Starfire's offense will be too much setting up a rematch of last year's regional. South Putnam at Riverton Parke- 1A game of the week! Think this game could go either way, but ultimately I think that the Eagle's schedule has prepped them for these big games better than the Panthers. Cloverdale @ Sheridan- I think the Blackhawks will win this one pretty soundly. Tough D and a ground and pound offense will be their ticket to success. North Decatur @ Milan- Its tough to beat the same team twice in the same year. I think the Indians pull this one out. Providence @ North Davies- The Pioneers pull away early and move on to regionals.

Sectional Championship Week! Who ya got?

Laville at North Judson- Sectional 41 Championship game in my opinion. I think this is close for a bit, but Judson will pull away in the second half. Frontier at Pioneer- Frontier is # 1 in scoring average in 1A, # 6 in points allowed and # 2 in average margin of victory. That is impressive regardless of schedule. You still have to go out and perform every week. Offensively they mix it up from week to week and are very well balanced between throwing and passing and spread the ball around well to their receivers. This game has all of the makings of an instant classic and will come down to who makes the least amount of mistakes. For the Panthers to win, they are going to have to play disciplined defense and control the ball on offense. Gimme the Panthers in a close one. Southwood at North Miami- I think the warriors run away with this one early. Triton at Fremont- Trojans win this one setting up a smash mouth HNAC affair for the sectional championship next week.
