  1. 2 Point Games Westfield @ Crown Point Center Grove @ Ben Davis Merrillville @ Fort Wayne Snider Bloomington South @ Decatur Central Northwood @ Leo New Palestine @ East Central Knox @ Chatard Gibson Southern @ Heritage Hills Lafayette Central Catholic @ Fort Wayne Luers North Judson @ Adams Central Lutheran @ Sheridan
  2. Same deal. Eastern only beat 2 teams with winning records all season.
  3. Pray. The only team with a pulse that Carroll played all season was Sheridan.
  4. The Sheridan fans can correct me if I'm wrong, but a coach isn't going to change his coaching philosophy after several years of coaching let alone 50+. Bud wants to play good defense and pound the ball/control the clock. That thinking has led to one of the most historic coaching careers in the nation. With that said, no coach is infallible or should be free from criticism. The simplicity of the offense and defense are probably a reflection of the team he has this year. A quick look at maxpreps looks like they are pretty young overall. Might be keeping things simple to get the kids playing fast. Traditionally Bud was an option guy, probably doesn't have the dudes to do that this year, so simplify. Regardless, the dude has plenty of hardware to support his coaching style and has the team playing for a regional title this Friday.
  5. Park Tudor @ North Jusdson Adams Central @ Carroll North Decatur @ Sheridan LaVille @ Central Catholic Bluffton @ Fort Wayne Luers Eastern Hancock @ Southmont North Posey @ Triton Central Knox @ West Lafayette Heritage Hills @ Batesville New Prairie @ Northwood Leo @ Mississinewa Valparaiso @ Merrillville Fort Wayne Snider @ Mishawaka Crown Point @ Penn Hamilton Southeastern @ Westfield Ben Davis @ Cathedral
  6. The closest thing would be Andrean.
  7. $20 to stream 6 state championship games seems like a great alternative to Black Friday shopping with my wife...
  8. Glenn @ Knox- Knox Football team will be too much for Glenn. Bremen @ LaVille- Lancers win in a close rematch Judson @ Triton- Judson has some solid pieces, but they do not have a full 11 to beat the Trojans. Look for Triton to get the ground game going and open up the play action game against Judson. The field position game cannot be understated with how well Shively kicks the ball. Judson will have to drive 80 yards every drive unless the D can make some plays.
  9. 2 Point Games Hanover Central @ West Lafayette Bishop Chatard @ Hamilton Heights Central Catholic @ Seeger Fishers @ Hamilton Southeastern Mishawaka @ Concord Harrison @ Decatur Central Kokomo @ Mississinewa Mooresville @ Brebuf Jesuit Winchester @ Eastern Hancock Park Tudor @ North Vermillion North Decatur @ Milan North Judson @ Triton
  10. 2 POINT GAMES West Lafayette @ Rensselaer Maconaquah @ Hamilton Heights Rochester @ Central Catholic Tipton @ Eastern Brownsburg @ Ben Davis Plainfield @ Harrison Clinton Prairie @ North Vermillion
  11. The bad thing with the rankings is that they are all filled out by coaches and media members that have no clue what the teams on the other side of the state are doing. Using 1A as an example, anyone with half of a brain knew North White was not a top 10 team and they lose to 1 2 win Caston team in round 1. Let Knox use it as motivation, but they shouldn't need to.
  12. Knox LaVille Judson Triton Carroll
  13. 3a is currently ranging from 790 on the high end to 511 on the low end. Knox is currently at 553 at the last count with 14 schools lower in the class than them in enrollment.
  14. 2 Point Games Mississinewa @ Western Twin Lakes @ Boone Grove River Forest @ West Lafayette Rensselaer @ Griffith Northwester @ Maconaquah Hamilton Heights @ Oak Hill Winamac @ Central Catholic Benton Central @ Seeger Blackford @ Tipton Hobart @ New Prairie Tri-Central @ Frontier
  15. Knox’s schedule is weak for a 3A team. It is a fact. They are currently in a conference comprised of only 1A and 2A opponents. According to Sagarin, they have the 182nd toughest schedule in the state. There is only one other team in the top 20 of 3A with a weaker schedule. Knox is a good football team. They are well coached and disciplined. However, the fact remains that their schedule does not prepare them for the 3A tournament. I think it is great move for them to make a move to the new conference.
  16. Knox @ Lakeland- I think its a matter of when not if, the Knox Football team's weak schedule catches up to them... but its not this week. Andrean @ LaVille- Andrean is not the same Andrean of the last few years, but their schedule has prepped them for the 2A postseason. Winamac @ Central Catholic- Knights win big over the Warriors. Has Winamac gotten better or have they just hit the soft spot of their schedule? Triton @ North Newton- Trojans get healthy for a couple weeks while they start prepping for Judson or Pioneer in the sectional championship. Culver @ SCUM- Satellites win the rematch from earlier in the season over the lowly Cavaliers. Caston @ North White- Taking the Comets here as they look for their first sectional win since 2020. Pioneer @ Judson- The difference in this game to me is which Pioneer team shows up? Will it be the turnover prone, mental mistake team we saw last week, or the Panthers that were aggressive and confident the other half of the year? Judson is a well coached and quality team that will make few mental mistakes and take care of the ball. If the Panthers have 3-4 turnovers like they did last Friday they will be dribbling basketballs next week. As another poster mentioned, both teams were more vanilla than usual last week with the weather conditions, which suited Judson. I expect the young Panthers to come out swinging this Friday and win in a tight one.
  17. I think Triton is the front runner until proven otherwise. If wet weather is a factor, Judson might have an edge. Panthers probably too young to make a run, but getting their fullback back to full speed will definitely help.
  18. Toloza played this past Friday. Rans probably out for season.
  19. Hard to be get healthy/save kids when you're already thin to start...
  20. Carroll's schedule does nothing for them from a post season prep standpoint. Sagarin has their strength of schedule at 303/314. Opponent's records are at 21 and 42 for the season with most of the opponent's wins coming from their conference's cellar dwellers. Don't get me wrong, they are doing what they should be doing to these inferior opponents, but I think they are in for some shock when they play a team with a pulse.
  21. South Newton North White Tri-County How are the numbers for most of the MWC teams this year? If low, have any of the teams considered going 8 man? Crazy to think of the drop off from some of these teams since the HNAC/ MWC split.
  22. Carroll at Sheridan - Cougars win big Eastern at Clinton Prairie- Comets Taylor at Delphi---- Oracles Tri Central at Clinton Central - Trojans
  23. What happened to Jones?
  24. It varies by region, but I've never heard of a minimum numbers of players by class for the IFCA teams...
  25. Culver, Triton, LaVille are all Region 2. Caston, Knox, Judson, Pioneer and Winamac are all Region 4.
