  1. In all fairness, on PATs, Rans is 13/16 (80%) and Shively is 7/10 (70%) per MaxPreps. Statistically, Workman is the best PAT kicker at 3/3 😄
  2. Tri Central @ Carroll- Carroll Sheridan @ Taylor- Sheridan Delphi @ C. Prairie- C. Prairie Eastern @ C. Central-Eastern
  3. Caston @ North White- Vikings- The comets are getting better, but they're not there yet. Culver @ Winamac- Warriors- In my opinion, this will be the only game that either of these teams can win this year. Knox @ LaVille- Knox Football Team- I think that Knox's offense will be too much for the Lancers. SCUM @ Judson- Jays- Coach Lambert will be getting the kids boosted back up this week after their lackluster performance against Winamac. Triton @ Pioneer- Panthers- I'm not sure that either team has been fully healthy all season. There's a good chance Toloza doesn't play this Friday, which certainly doesn't help Pioneer. This Panther team is much grittier than last year's team and I think that if they can contain Shively (easier said than done) they will win. In my opinion, Shively is the best or second best overall player in the conference right up there with Plummer between what they offer at QB, DB and Kicker.
  4. 2 Point Games Central Catholic @ Rensselaer Northwester @ Tipton Twin Lakes @ Hamilton Heights Western @ Linton West Lafayette @ Benton Central Lafayette Jeff @ Harrison Richmond @ Muncie Central Seeger @ Fountain Central Triton @ Pioneer Knox @ LaVille
  5. 2 Point Games Benton Central @ Twin Lakes Blackhawk @ Northwestern Hamilton Heights @ Western Rensselaer @ West Lafayette Tipton @ Central Catholic Glenn @ Knox Carroll @ Eastern Tri-Central @ Delphi Clinton Prairie @ Sheridan Bowman Academy @ Lake Station
  6. Hammond @ Pioneer- Hammond is currently 13th in 5a per the IFCA poll. I'll take the Panthers Glenn @ Knox- Knox Football Team keeps to their winning ways LaVille @ Caston- Caston is much improved from last year, but still not enough to beat the Lancers Triton @ Culver- Trojans by a lot Winamac @ Judson- Judson exacts retribution from last week's loss swiftly and often against the woeful warriors
  7. Bremen at Triton- Going Bremen here after all of the injury talk above. Culver at West Central- Trojans and its not going to be close. Judson at Knox- Gotta go with the Knox football team. The backs run hard, the lines are large and they have depth for days. Pioneer at Caston- Panthers Winamac at LaVille- Lancers
  8. 2 Point Games Twin Lakes @ Rensselaer Tipton @ Tippecanoe Valley Hamilton Heights @ Northwestern West Lafayette @ Central Catholic Western @ Benton Central Logansport @ Tech Fountain Central @ Covington Bremen @ Triton Greenwood Christian @ Edinburgh Guerin @ Brebeuf
  9. Pioneers offensive workhorses are the qb and fb. Currently our young backs are both playing TE. One of our best jr high athletes last year starts at safety as a freshman and will be a solid back as he matures.
  10. Why not allow high school aged kids to ref at the junior high and youth level for extra cash to get them in the door prior to leaving school? Could be a win-win for schools and kids. Kids make some pocket money, schools instantly have a pool to ref lower level games. You could run some regional courses for different sport's offerings to teach the rules/train.
  11. Central Catholic @ Hamilton Heights Northwestern @ Benton Central Rensselaer @ Western Twin Lakes @ Tippecanoe Valley West Lafayette @ Tipton North Newton @ Lake Station Merrillville @ Crown Point Pioneer @ LaVille Louisville Trinity @ Center Grove Lewis Cass @ Peru
  12. Caston @ Triton- Trojans by whatever they want Knox @ Culver- Knox Football Team by whatever they want North Judson @ CMA- I think CMA wins this in the Jays first challenge of the season Pioneer @ LaVille- Panthers in a close one if they play a clean game. If Pioneer comes out sloppy to start it could be over early. Winamac @ North White- Winamac is historically bad so gonna have to go with the Vikings on this one.
  13. Jays Cavs Knox Football Team Panthers Lancers
  14. 2 Point Games Benton Central @ Seeger Eastern @ Northwestern Elwood @ Tipton Central Catholic @ Guerin McCutcheon @ West Lafayette North Montgomery @ Hamilton Heights Rensselaer @ North Newton Twin Lakes @ Delphi Western Boone @ Western Scecina @ Speedway
  15. CULVER @ NORTH JUDSON WINAMAC @ KNOX LEWIS CASS @ PIONEER LAVILLE @ BREMEN SOUTH CENTRAL @ TRITON WEST CENTRAL @ CASTON
  16. 2 Point Games Benton Central @ Delphi Kankakee Valley @ Rensselaer Lapel @ Hamilton Heights Northwestern @ Twin Lakes Seeger @ Central Catholic South Adams vs Tipton West Lafayette @ Harrison Western @ Tri-West Westrat Cenl @ Caston Frontier @ Clinton Prairie
  17. Pioneer is at Northwestern this Friday before taking on Lewis Cass next week.
  18. Pioneer will be down again this year, unless some young guys really step up. Currently looking at ~ 6-7 juniors and seniors total out for the team. If we go double tight again o line will most likely consist of 6 sophomores and 1 junior.
  19. Rochester would never slum it in the HNAC 😄
  20. This looks like it will be a solid small school conference for football. I'm not sure what the addition of SCUM brings to the table other than a long drive for the southern half of the conference and a filler game for everyone. I'll be curious to see how many teams keep Knox and LaVille on the schedule. I hate to see the 2 largest teams part, they provided good competition.
  21. I dislike all of this "leveling the playing field" nonsense. Whatever happened to embracing a challenge and working your butt off to beat your opponents. This whiny attitude of other team's winning too much and need bumped up does a disservice to the teams that do things the right way regardless of socioeconomic factors, especially at the small school level. Pioneer, as well as a number of other teams, had their heads caved in by LCC for several years in a row in the tournament. Finally in 2016 when they beat them, it was an awesome moment for our team and community that really sparked a good few year run for us. Pioneer has a garbage field, old equipment and little administrative support. They also have ~ 50% Free and Reduced Lunch rate, but in general have been successful since the late 90's. Their feeder program runs the same offense from youth league through high school and several high school coaches also help with the younger levels. Like every small school we will have ebbs and flows of talent, but in general we are successful due to the system we have in place. There are many examples of other teams/communities doing this across the state. It is a shame that instead of rewarding this "commitment to consistence", we instead reward the ineptitude of other programs by enabling this woe is me attitude. If you don't want to get beat, get better.
