  1. Completely agree from a football standpoint. When you factor in all of the other sports being played I don't see the small schools wanting them to join.
  2. Can't see Triton, Caston, Winamac, Pioneer or Culver being in favor. I think Judson would be on the border.
  3. From a football standpoint, at least as of 2023, Glenn and Bremen would be middle of the pack teams. Enrollment wise, I wonder if Glenn and Knox would continue to be good fits as they continue to expand in the future. Hopefully the decision makers are looking at the long term and not just a see what fits now mentality.
  4. I find it hard to believe Pioneer and Caston would be for this from a travel distance standpoint alone. For Pioneer this would add 2 more roughly one hour drives for conference opponents. I know this might seem like a big deal, but the fuel costs start to add up when you factor in all of the additional varsity, JV and junior high games, events and matched that they will need to travel to.
  5. I'll be curious to see the outcome. If they go Divisions, Big School Small School would essentially be a North South split with the exception of Triton. I'd like at least one open week on the football schedule for an out of conference game. I'm not a fan of playing a closed conference regular season. I'm also wondering that if those two are admitted if any schools would choose to leave.
  6. Bringing the conversation over from the Harrell site. Looks like John Glenn and Bremen are making a push to enter the HNAC in the future. Conference members have met and will vote sometime in March. I'll be curious to see if the potential 10 team conference moves to divisions and how they will determine football scheduling.
  7. 3rd HNAC coach to resign this off-season…
  8. 2016 Pioneer played at Adams Central at semi state and the grass was immaculate. Kudos to their grounds crew for the field staying great all through the torrential downpour before and during the game. LCC’s Bermuda grass field was also nice when we played there in 2018.
  9. I'd rather play on a nice grass surface any day over turf...
  10. Stats aside, its going to come down to how the Jays react in the big game atmosphere this year. Last year, they showed up and it seemed like the moment was too big for them and they layed an egg (pun intended). How are the kids and coaches going to respond to that?
  11. If I'm not mistaken. Sheridan has, for many years, ran this same scheme on defense with a lot of tight man coverage.
  12. 3 Point Games Carroll @ Lafayette Jeff Westfield @ Hamilton Southeastern Cathedral @ Brownsburg Merrillville @ Valparaiso Kokomo @ Columbia City New Palestine @ Roncalli West Lafayette @ Knox Lafayette Central Catholic @ Andrean Evansville Mater Dei @ Triton Central North Decatur @ Sheridan
  13. Pioneer- Wing T Knox- Single Wing & Things Judson- Flexbone LaVille- Variety with single wing sprinkled in Winamac- Ran some single wing, wing-t, I Form this year Triton- Wing T Culver- Power T Caston- Spread
  14. Single wingish overload offense with loads of formations to run the same running schemes. Lots of pulling linemen and sniffer backs.
  15. Knox @ Jimtown- The teams look to be pretty evenly matched, I expect this to be pretty close throughout. Culver @ North Judson- Culver may keep it close for a half, but poor depth catch up to them and the Jays get their JV in for the last time this season.
  16. 3 POINT GAMES West Lafayette @ Hanover Central Central Catholic @ Rochester West Central @ Carroll Lafayette Jeff @ Crown Point Valparaiso @ Chesterton Decatur Central @ Plainfield Whiteland @ Franklin Brebeuf @ Roncalli Knox @ Jimtown Scecina @ Triton Central
  17. I think the final will be around 56-14. I honestly wasn't overly impressed with Triton from our games and the film breakdown we have done. We just didn't have the cats to stop you guys. Schuh wasn't overly effective against us last week other than 1 long field reversal and looked like he was playing injured, not as explosive as the regular season. In game planning I was more worried about your QB, I just don't think that you guys utilize him enough. It will be close for a quarter, but I think that Judson's physicality will be too much for you guys in the end.
  18. 3 POINT GAMES Bishop Chatard @ Hamilton Heights Kokomo @ Western West Lafayette @ Calument Cass @ Central Catholic Rochester @ Benton Central Bluffton @ Tipton Zionsville @ Noblesville Plainfield @ Harrison Logansport @ Northridge Gibson Southern @ Owen Valley Andrean @ LaVille Traders Point Christian @ North Vermillion Mooresville @ Brebeuf Jesuit Cascade @ Sullivan Elkhart @ Warsaw
  19. West Noble at Knox- Knox football team pulls it out in a close one. Andrean at LaVille- I think Andrean is beatable, I just think that their tougher schedule and overall talent puts them over the top of the Lancers. The biggest asset for LaVille going into this game is they are a very physical team, but in the end the overall team talent of Andrean will prevail. South Central (UM) at Culver- this is a yawner as the cavs prepare for Judson Triton at North Judson- Jays will be too much for Triton. I dont see Triton's defense being good enough to stop the triple.
  20. Fields in relatively good shape for us. We've only had one varsity home game since week 4 and due to low numbers only a handful of JV games on it this season.
  21. Judson beat us 55-8 last Friday and we had more positive takeaways than probably any game this season. Pioneer was inside Judson's 10 twice and came away with 0 points, dumb mistakes kept them out. Promising thing about the longer drive was that on the Oline there were all freshmen and 1 senior from tackle to tackle. Defense played okay for a half, but they were finally playing with some emotion and passion. Triton is a very good team, I just think if our kids can play a whole game for the first time this season we can pull out the upset. Score was 7-0 Triton going into half. Going into the 4th quarter, I believe the score was 14-6, a couple injuries and youth showed themselves and Triton ran away in the 4th. It should be a great game and a fun atmosphere going into Friday night.
