  1. LaVille at Bremen- LaVille- curious to see how LaVille is without several of their mainstays from the last few years at the skill positions.

Lewis Cass at Pioneer- Pioneer- Lewis Cass will be improved over last year in a game that will help the Panthers find their identity before the take on Winamac next week.

NJSP at Culver Community- Judson- Blue Jays have a lot to replace, but a steady dose of tailback Allen should put them on top.

West Central at Caston- Caston- Comets improve this year as they go into year 2 under the new regime.

Winamac at Knox- Winamac- In a week one game that could have major implications in who is the conference champ, I see the Warriors coming out on top. Winamac is the preseason favorite to win conference and will be well coached and prepared for every game. It looked like the redskins quit on Coach Radtke  in his first year at the helm, and if they still haven't bought in to his coaching this could be a long night for Knox.

    Monroe Central @ Hamilton Heights

    Northwestern @ Twin Lakes

    Tipton @ Frankfort

    Western @ Kokomo

    Attica @ Riverton Parke

    Frankfort @ Clinton Central

    Winamac @ Knox

Assuming Luers make some modest level of improvement on defense, I'm not sure they lose to another 2A team.  They nearly won it last year even with that defense.  The one caveat is if they have to play in a bad-weather game in the playoffs where wind/rain/ice could neutralize their passing game.

LCC should be on the list somewhere.

Eastern Greene is not even in 2A.

Eastbrook had alot of sophomore talent in 2019 and those sophomores should now be seniors.  My guess is that they get through the regular season undefeated.

Remember EMD being very young last year and it seems like they should be improved from a semi-state appearance if all goes to plan for them.

Don't know much about Andrean but they've disappointed me in the tournament the past couple seasons.

Also don't know much about what Eastside has coming back but they gave Luers all they wanted in the sectional last season.  If they return alot they could be a darkhorse.

Another team not on the list that I will keep an eye on is Scecina.

I think the nod has to go to Andrean as the 2A team to beat. I think that Andrean would be better prepared to face Luers' spread passing attack than what they faced against Pioneer running a traditional Wing-t that they don't face in the course of the regular season.

Luers will be really good. Athletes EVERYWHERE.  I mean their D Tackle was back deep to return kickoffs last year.

Mater Dei was young last year as well.  Scecina has to get through HC again. I don't know what Pioneer has coming back, but both Lewellen brothers graduated, right?

Both Lewellens graduated as well as several other two way players.

LCC and Pioneer had to go to 2A to escape the potential for knocking the other out early in the tournament.  In the past 20 years, LCC and Pioneer have met like 13 times in post-season with 11 of those resulting in one or the other being knocked out in sectionals.  In at least a couple of those cases it was #1 vs. #2 and in a couple of cases it was the very first game of sectionals where #1 eliminated #2.

Pretty crazy that Pioneer/LCC go from being in the same sectional/regional for years to being on different halves of the bracket...

Ole Donnie Boy you having a bad day or just part of the new Cancel Culture???

You completely misconstrued my post. If you read the original post in thread, it listed a lot of teams that were mostly Girls teams from various sports with Boys only coming from football. My question was even more specific to the original one as to what is the secret to the success to the Girls sports at Pioneer.

Coach Nowlin replied with some good posts as to why the success from Adam Berry.

You need to chill out and take you banning/cancel culture, overreaction elsewhere! Ridiculous!

For football, these boys have been running the same offense since third grade. We have had consistency in coaching from youth on up generally seeing the most turnover at the junior high level.

These young men go in with the mindset that they are going to step up and win every single game they play in no matter the opponent.

Another cool tidbit, every coach on the high school staff except for one is a former Panther.

In short consistency in coaching, scheme and high player expectations are the secret.

Pioneer, not only in football, but in all sports has been absolutely killing it the last 10 years.  Heres a brief run down...

2014/15 - Football State Runner Up

2016/17 - Football State Runner Up

    2017/18 - Football State Champion

    2017/18 - Softball State Champion

2018/19 - Volleyball State Runner Up

    2018/19 - Football State Champion

2018/19  - Softball State Runner Up

2019/20 - Girls Basketball State Runner Up

    2020/21 - Volleyball State Champion

    2020/21 - Girls Basketball ???(TBA)

And this doesn't include any of their multiple Semi-State Trips, which there are multiple

What are they doing right?  It's not like they have an overwhelming enrollment over other 1A teams.  I get small schools having a run of athletes but does it usually span 8-10 years of sustained success?

We’ve been pumping HGH and roids into the water for years. Isn’t that common practice???

To speak on this topic in this Forum, the transgendered athletes playing football on Women's Indiana High School Football teams should be discussed.

You have provided nothing of value to this conversation other than saying it should be moved to the OOB. Thank you for being so vigilant in policing the site and protecting us from non thread relevant dangers.

As someone who used to go sit in rain, snow, sleet, or hail with a 3 ring binder to scout, I'll take doing the same thing off a streamed broadcast any day.

But that's the point you don't have to do that now. Every school pays a mint to HUDL to avoid what you described and it is beneficial to all involved to submit useable film.

That's like older generations making fun of kids for not knowing how to operate a rotary phone. Technology advancements make it so that you don't need to.

@FarmerFran if I send crappy film to teams, they know where they can find it in 4K. We are committed to broadcasting all of our games at Triton with that high resolution and get an announcer calling the numbers of the players making tackles and running the ball.

No one wants to break down film off of a broadcast though. Then you have to sort through and sit through all of the crap in between plays.

You might as well submit it all.  If you don't give it to us, someone else will.  We should share all film. IF you don't share it all, there are ways to get it all. Someone always owes someone else a favor or has a connection.  I don't think we had any less then 6 films of any opponent we played in the playoffs.  Share it all, Endzone and sideline.   May the team that prepares the best win!!!

I tend to agree, but in all the time I've never seen another team share endzone film. While I'm complaining, I'd also like to see teams update stats on maxpreps.
