Did a little digging on Herrell's site and saw that since the conference's inception in 2015, Caston has only won one conference game in football versus Triton in 2016. If you are Caston, why not look at a move to rejoin the Midwest Conference where they will be much more competitive year in and year out? I know this goes beyond football, but holy cow that's a lot of non competitive football and from what I've seen from the new regime I don't see it improving anytime soon.

I've got it finishing this way...
Judson 6-0 - They still have LaVille and Pioneer, so it's not a given by any means. But from what I saw in games against Triton, I think Judson is better than both. Their speed is a problem and their defense is good enough.
Winamac 5-0 - I haven't seen them yet, but they shouldn't lose to Caston or Triton. (Although I could see Triton giving them a game if we have everyone back.) But if you haven't beaten any other team in the top half of the conference (when at full or near-full strength), then it's hard to declare you're the best team.
Pioneer 5-2 - A strange year in Royal Center. This team isn't nearly as solid as Pioneer teams the last 10+ years have been. But Pioneer losing a step just brings them back down closer to the rest of the field. Still among the best, just not head-and-shoulders above everyone else. I don't think Pioneer's D is good enough to stop the Blue Jays. Triton ran for 134 against them. NJ will go for 200+.
LaVille 4-2 - I really have no idea how good LaVille would be at full strength. Have they even had all their starters play a game together yet? This week's game with Judson should be a good one! LaVille D is probably the best in the conference, but I don't think they can score enough to beat the Jays.
It's a shame we had to deal with this COVID stuff this year. I would have enjoyed seeing these four teams battle it out at full strength for the conference title. This is without a doubt the most balanced year we've had in the HNAC since its inception.
Judson and Winamac should meet in the sectional and that will determine the best team, though I realize they likely won't name a conference champion. If I recall correctly, last year Pioneer and LaVille were both unbeaten in conference after the regular season and they met in the sectional as well, Pioneer coming away the undisputed better team.

It is not a matter of Glenn agreeing to make a switch.
Conference games tend to rule, so if the same conference teams agree then any non-conference game would be scrapped and a conference game played.
So, technically if LaVIlle and Winamac agreed to play each other, that would leave the opponent to find another game or not play at all.
Has happened before.
as always, the game is bettter

There is no way Winamac opts into playing a team with a winning record….

Any word on if Laville's running back will be back this week?

Must be wanting to save their rare chance at a conference title.
Can’t be crowned champ if all conference games aren’t played… At least that’s what Pioneer was told last year after beating every conference opponent.

A lot of excitement in the air for the matchups this week. Two of the top 1A schools battle it out at Liberty Field when Winamac travels to North Judson. The Jays are 4-0 under Coach Lambert while Winamac rolls in at 3-0 after their game was cancelled last week. Pioneer welcomes Hammond Central down from the region and continues to claw their way back to health and positioning in the HNAC. LaVille and Culver look to get healthy and back on schedule. Knox welcomes Glenn to Starke County while recovering from their loss to their rivals the Bluejays.
Hammond Central @ Pioneer- Pioneer continues to get healthy and win games. I believe they get the job down this week in a close. Pioneer by 7
LaVille @ Caston- Caston has taken their bumps in the conference to start the season. LaVille seems to be fighting to get back on the field. My gut says Caston by 1.
Triton @ Culver- This is a good test for both teams. Culver needs to get things rolling. Triton wants to get back in the win column. Triton by 7.
Glenn @ Knox- Knox has been up and down all season. They played the Jays tough last week, but they always play them tough. How will Russ Radtke get this team to respond this week? Glenn by 10.
Winamac @ North Judson- A top game in the state comes to North Judson and Liberty Field. Winamac is averaging 36 ppg on offense. Judson defense has been stingy only giving up 9.5 ppg. John Harrell has Winamac by two td's. I'm taking the Bluejays in a tough game by 10.
Hammond Central @ Pioneer- This one will come down to toughness and overall depth. If the Panthers dont get worn down by sheer 5A numbers I like their chances.
LaVille @ Caston- Your gut be wrong because Caston be bad... Laville by whatever their offense can muster because Caston wont score on them...
Triton @ Culver- Dont know much about either team yet but I'll take the Trojans.
Glenn @ Knox- I like Knox by a couple of scores.
Winamac @ North Judson- I'll take the Warriors off the bye week.
Sidebar: Why didn't Winamac go pick up a team last week with LaVille out? I figured with their best team in recent years they would want to test themselves against some tougher competition prior to the tournament.

Congrats to the Panthers for picking up their first win of the season over a very good Laville team. Defense needed tightening up, but I was very impressed with the offense for only practicing the new look since Wednesday.

Predictions
Triton over Caston emotions ride high and they get a much needed victory
Highland beats up Knox to keep Redskin Country scratching heads
Winamac rolls and represents our conference in nonleague play!!
Judson Rolls in nonleague play!!
LaVille over Pioneer - toss up as each team had many starters out last week!!!!!!! UPDATES??
Stay healthy HNACers
Pioneer will only have 17 kids at practice today. Pioneer schools has been on virtual learning all week due to too many teachers being close Covid contacts.

Will the Lancers and Panthers be at full strength on Friday?? Injuries??? Not sure what procedures are anymore on the Covid situation??
Panthers should have 2-3 players back this week, but still down 4-5.

According to Harrell’s site Pioneer is out 7 starters ( all 2 way players) tonight versus Winamac. Kudos to Pioneer for showing up to compete. They’ll probably bring less than 20 kids to the game tonight.

I'd push for Glenn or Bremen. Maybe you could sway someone like Delphi or Lewis Cass over as well.
