Wabash River Conference Week 6
gaby replied to Donnie Baker's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
NV - poor Attica, haven't been good since, well, Good left Woofs - had Seeger on the ropes, need to eliminate the stupid penalties. Finally get over the hump Friday. FC - they won't let Seeger off the hook like the Woofs did SV - disappointing result last week for the tenderloins, won't get any better this week. Not enough mustard and pickles in Mecca to pull this one out. -

I know Whiting would be on both lists (2 as offender, 2 as victim). Be curious who else would be a multiple offender/victim, especially after only 5 weeks. -

My "OH MY" teams of the week!
gaby replied to Tippy's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
That would be an amazing point, if any of those wins were against conference opponents. But yeah, it’s a weak conference. We should run the table. Feels good to finally be able to say that after years of aimless wandering in the wilderness. -

Griffith 3-0, started 0-3 last year against the same teams. The times they are a-changin’… -

My understanding is Coach Rector will be deployed soon, so yes, PH will have an interim for a time. -

One that didn’t make it but most certainly would have was Danville and Purdue Poly. 27-0 after 1st quarter and then weather hit. No resumption of game. Giving Danville the benefit of the doubt and believe that for whatever reason, a scheduling hiccup led to both teams having a date available that led to this game being scheduled. Really no point for either of these teams to ever play each other in any ordinary situation. -

Griffith’s two RUTS are against schools that beat them last year. And bigger schools at that. Defense has pitched two shutouts and offense has multiple weapons for a change. Running clocks the entire second half both games. Not saying they aren’t RUTS but for a program that has been kicked in the teeth a lot the last several years, the payback tour is underway and it’s going to be exciting to watch. -
A funny thing happened on the way to the BD beat down of Avon… Great win for Coach Gibson and a program that really needed it.

My "Oh MY" teams so far this year
gaby replied to Tippy's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Avon has one win the last two years. If that isn’t an Oh My, I don’t know what one is. -
Crawfordsville checks a lot of those boxes as well.

Griffith is unrecognizable from when I graduated. Pointless to follow them any more. Talk about a proud program disappearing into oblivion.
-
They should have a very good baseball team this spring.
-
Couldn’t find the stats, but that doesn’t surprise me. Just not a great cultural fit for football.

My guess is the reason Muda says they are 4A in enrollment only is that the community and student body is around 30% Hispanic, and that demographic isn’t traditionally a fertile recruiting ground for them. So even in a Sagamore Conference with schools ranging from 2A-4A, they have been dismal for some time. I believe their soccer and baseball teams have been pretty competitive recently.

Danville 34, Greencastle 0 2nd quarter

I know Avon's defense has been God-awful this year, but this performance needs to be recognized. In Zionsville's 52-49 win last night, Price ran 26 times for 416 yards and 5 TD's. That is an incredible night, irrespective of opponent. Also want to recognize from the same game the performance of Chrishon McCray, 4 TD's receiving to go with 230 yards, and a TD pass thrown in for good measure. Two amazing individual performances from two very good players.

Anyone at the BD - Carmel Game?

Glad everyone is safe, kudos to the police for a quick apprehension. But damn, shouldn't have to fear for your life as a player or fan going to a football game. -
SAGAMORE CONFERENCE 2021

Raiding the WIC to a degree, but I would like Northview, Greencastle, West Vigo, and possibly West Lafayette as a fourth. -
SAGAMORE CONFERENCE 2021
gaby replied to 1st_and_10's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
THIS! I believe all three MoCo high schools have decent to good coaching staffs, but there are too many athletes in the hallways that do not play football, for whatever reason. Schlicher in particular needs to build a culture starting in grade school and keep them in the program. -
SAGAMORE CONFERENCE 2021
gaby replied to 1st_and_10's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Don’t forget about the 0-6 record so far in 2021. They are competitive in basketball and baseball (as is Frankfort, at least more so than in football historically). Can’t really say it’s cyclical when it’s been down for 15 years. Question would be the destination for the top 4. Too small for Mid State, too big for Wabash River, Western Indiana possibly, but they already have 12 teams. Indiana Crossroads might be a slight improvement, but not enough to move. Hoosier Athletic could be interesting. My thought is Crawfordsville (and probably Frankfort) really needs to evaluate where football fits in their landscape, or if those resources are better deployed elsewhere.
