  1. Depends what you are looking for. Obviously coming from the east you will pass the Ferdinand exit and there are plenty of choices there, from fast food to local cuisine like Fleig's, Oasis, Homestead Pizza, and Tres Agaves. If you come on in to Spencer County I would recommend the Chateau good food and drinks, also Jenks Pizza (the strombolis are killer) Hope that helps
  2. So there were some other kids out then?? I can tell you the same thing about respecting a program like SR. The route that the Raiders have taken to the Sectional Championship has been less reported on due to the teams they have played and kind of let the Raiders fly under the radar for a couple weeks or so. Truth is the Patriots need to forget round one!! Forget week 2 of the sectional!! They need to zero in their sights on a very dangerous Southridge team and do what needs to be done!!
  3. Is this a quiet request to move Friday's game from the Jungle in Lincoln City to the turf of Raider field if there is inclement weather??? Or are my eyes deceiving me here????
  4. Am I to assume that there are no fans out here on the Grid willing to put their necks out this week for this match up!! I mean come on man, according to Max Preps this is #2 vs #7 baby!! It doesn't get much better than this one!! 8 miles of black top!! Decades of competition!! Let's go!!
  5. It's time to get this thing started. A little more than 72 hours away from Sectional 32 Championship with a great rivalry, and two schools that are only separated by 8 miles!!! 11-0 Heritage Hills vs 9-2 Southridge. There is talk that Southridge had several key players missing in the first meeting besides the QB. I am wondering if there is any truth to that and what impact it may have on the game!! Obviously the tournament success that Raider Nation has enjoyed in recent history will definitely be something that Southridge can rely on in this game. Heritage Hills conversely coming off one of the craziest wins in program history will be playing at home for the first time in a month!! One would think that would be a huge asset to this Senior dominated team! Will the ground and pound mentality of the Patriots offense and defense continue to roll?? I expect nothing less than a heavy weight match up like Ali and Foreman!! Hay makers and body blows from both teams! I can't wait. Now let's start talking!!
  6. I didn’t know a backhanded compliment should be accepted and appreciated!! And correct if #15 doesn’t play this year we are probably 10-1 eons better than the 2019 version of Panther football MIC DROP!!!
  7. Proves your point?????? Crickets sounds now??? GS ball on the 18 yard line, 82 yards to go and it's 4th and 10.....oh by the way there are less than 18 seconds left IN THE GAME. Here's a brilliant idea, let's played man coverage with on single high safety, send a little pressure and win the game..........OH WAIT Allen escaped pressure, the safety killed his own CB and POOF GS scores a potential tying TD. But Hart has the ba!!s to go for two, and.......we all know the ending. EXACTLY what HH was not willing to do. And sir please don't act like I was ONLY blaming the calls. I stated that I am sure HH was content to play soft, with deep coverage (unlike SR) But since you are so astute to what transpired Friday night......the fumbles......yeah those are calls that were blown and directly affected the game. AND if your talking about a GS defender being tackled on a run by #15.....a defender throwing his hands in the air, acting like he is being mauled, and falling over does not equate to anything more than very bad acting. Yea your observation.....HH was tired.....HH plays too many seniors which will hurt the program......HH only had one guy block the field goal (I didn't know it took two, maybe it does where you coach).....I blame official (have for years).....you can't believe Hart didn't go for the TD because he should've known better.......blah blah blah
  8. ".......watching GS take the last drive down the field....." Okay I am not trying to be nit pick here but let's talk football common sense for a minute and what actually happened.. HH up one with under two minutes to go in the game, GS only has one time out and 77 yards to go, I am fairly certain the HH coaches were confident in letting GS complete short passes underneath while eating the clock (ask Southridge week 9)......and if they run the ball great!!! GS decides to run, GREAT, fumbled the ball AGAIN (even better), and it was decided after deliberation by the officials, AGAIN, to give the ball back to GS AGAIN ( YES this happened more than once in the same game, there is video evidence to prove) drive continues. GS throws the ball, HH defender makes a nice play, PI called (whatever, high school officials) drive continues. So the fact the GS even had the opportunity to decide to go for a TD or FG was practically delivered on a silver platter. SHOULD HAVE NEVER GOTTEN THAT FAR. My two cents!! Yes you must give HH players credit for their moxy, the grit, their never quit attitude BECAUSE when all things were stacked against them, they all still made plays one at a time!!
  9. They probably were tired, but not wore down. Yes they have played 4 quarters of football this year. The big stat is this GS ran 70 offensive plays. That in and of itself led to some tired kids. HH likes to control the clock and the tempo with it's offense, this then leads to HH staying relatively fresh throughout the game. I can assure that #3, #15, #23, #25 hell all of them for that matter could've and would've played a 5th quarter if need be. Gibson did play better defensively!! I will give credit where credit is due, they were committed to being much more physical in the re-match. Desperation, psyche, confidence and momentum, especially in high school athletes, can quickly change a game. I would be willing to bet anything had a couple of things (calls) been different in the 1st half, and not given GS that confidence and momentum, things may have been a little different. All in all it was one of the best games I have ever witnessed, with a season on the line, played by both teams. As I stated in an earlier post, it's a shame anyone had to lose.
  10. HH starts two underclassmen on D and none on offense. They had several young players that were playing varsity roles that have had season ending injuries, or sidelined them for weeks. This year's team is senior heavy, which is not a terrible thing. It is what it is. JV 5-2 losses to GS and Jasper Frosh 5-3 loses to MD, GS, Tec. The cupboard is definitely not bare for the Patriots. But every now and again you have a team come along like this one that has very talented seniors that start, and player major minutes, with young guys playing lesser roles!!
  11. One thing about the game last night....So many kids from both teams made such great individual plays!! Such great kids on both sides! Was simply amazed by them all!!
  12. Just Chris is done!!! Coach Joachim is a lifer!! No chance he’s done yet
  13. The game last night was one of the best I’ve seen in my life! GS was nearly flawless and HH looked stunned after a couple of plays that didn’t go their way. But resilience and grit by the Pats in the end pulled out the W!! Hats off to GS. Another great season. Spoke with one of my very good friends, who is a Titan, last night after the game and told him neither team needed to go home after last night!! It’s a shame matchups like that happen this early in the playoffs!!
  14. Great point!! I think Gibson Southern has used the change in the conference alignment in a very positive way for their program by including central Indiana teams and by strengthening their schedule. Teams like Heritage Hills, Southridge and Booneville could also do this because of realignment, whereas the SIAC is now married to the conference and will only play conference games until tournament time.
  15. Denzel said it best, and HH believes in it like the gospel ".....run 6 plays. It's like Novocaine. Give it time, and it always works!" That's the offensive philosophy of the Patriots!! Still scratching my head about passing the ball???
  16. Don't you bring HH into your guys' scuffle!! We are just fine being left alone. No one needs any luck for anything!!
  17. Pass the ball???? Blasphemy!!!!! Running the ball is religion in Lincoln City, didn't you know that?
  18. Just to add.....From 1996-2002 HH was 123-13, making the semi state or further in 6 straight years!! That's a remarkable ten year run!!! None taken!!! Two great teams!! The state made the correct choice by the way!!
  19. I am not so sure that the home field changes the score as much as the weather may.............I can see this being a very close game down to the end!
  20. You brought of the "if the had kicked the extra point....." blah blah blah so I took it and ran with my own what if comment. Sorry about it Bob but I can have an opinion too.
  21. So if we are going to agree to disagree that's fine. From 2000-2002 HH was 41-2 with both losses coming to Chatard in the semi state game. Not sure I believe that Danville was ranked ahead of HH anytime during that season. And if we are playing the "what if" game like your two point conversion reference....HH was clearly in control of the semi state game running the football with Cole Seifrig, and up 14 points. It wasn't until untimely mistakes in the passing game that occurred that undid HH in this one. Had HH never thrown the football, the game may have ended up in a route by HH, who knows, but anyone who was at that game would agree with me.
  22. I think that both sides are remaining respectively quiet for this one!! I say this because regardless of the outcome on Friday the simple fact is this, after week two of the tournament a team with legit state championship pedigree is going home!! So rather than stir the hornets nest I think everyone is remaining respectively quiet. Which I think stinks!!!
  23. Sorry to disagree with you here Bob but the de facto state championship was the Chatard vs HH game in the semi state that year. #1 vs #2 Chatard won 35-28 against an unbelievably good HH team that included the states leading scorer for that season and 6th all time leader, I believe, Cole Seifrig. After 5 turnovers HH was still in control of the game, but number 6 was costly and Chatard eventually pulled the game out. It is my belief that legendary coach Bob Clayton would have multiple state championships had it not been for running into Bishop Chatard year after year.
  24. Couldn't have said it better!!! One home game the whole tournament!! On the road at Whiteland, At Roncalli (and the mysterious smokey woods or whatever the heck their team came running out of) I think HH had like 38 player on it!! Unbelievable run!!
