  1. Yeah...now that's funny!! I'll bite. Reitz fans have had the privilege of watching opposing teams carry real footballs into the end zone all year!!! Beat Harrison and Bosse. Please. SIAC should be changed to the BIG 3.
  2. It's about time!!! I cannot believe it took until Tuesday afternoon to get this one going!! Seeing both teams play it will be an interesting match up I believe. SR seems kind of under sized up front this year, but they get off the ball extremely well, both on the O-line and D-line. Both SR lines are well coached and get after it. SR has a very good triple threat offensive running game. Honestly not sure if the SR DB's, across the board, can run with the wideouts from GS. GS is GS, their tempo and scoring ability are at another level. They have good team speed, and are always on attack mode. The defense will be key this week, will they step it up?? I honestly think this game is a hard one to predict. If SR controls the ball and the clock and grinds out some possessions it could be a good night for the Raiders. If GS gets seven, eight , nine possessions or more then it's all Titans! Either way I am expecting to very well coached teams to lay it out there on Friday to ensure good vibes heading into tournament time!!
  3. This will be the second toughest sectional in the state! I believe we can all agree on this: the winner of this sectional will earn it for sure. But I have a question, we seemed to have jumped straight to the tournament, why is there no talk of the SR vs GS week nine match up any where?? C'mon man, two ranked 3A opponents in week nine!! Where's all the hype??!!
  4. I hope that wasn't directed at me.....I was stating what I did in defense of GS and SR, who in my opinion, are both better than teams ranked ahead of them! But due to a relatively low SOS both are penalized, in this poll, when the numbers are all figured. You can go back as far as you'd like on anything I have commented on, SOS to me is nothing more than a way to vindicate or celebrate a game due to the "toughness" of the opponent. Maybe I should have been more clear with the word "they" in my original post.
  5. Heritage Hills has not played 2A Forest Park (4-3) or 2A South Spencer (1-6) which Gibson has. By the end of the season HH's SOS will be dismal because of it's conference. Which in truth is no interpretation of the team, or how good they are. Exactly why I hate this rating system.
  6. Here is a pretty good list from Lincoln City: Bruce King Kansas City Chiefs Chris Sigler Ottawa Rough Riders CFL Ken Dilger Indianapolis Colts Jade Winchell Ball State University (NFL talent derailed by concussions) Jon Goldsberry Buffalo Bills Jay Cutler Denver Broncos Cole Seifrig Miami Marlins (NFL talent, drafted 5th round out of high school Miami Marlins) Not bad for a small school in southern Indiana.
  7. Played a school from Ill. correct?? Was the school they played a highly ranked team from there??? I saw Chatard beat the biscuit out of them!!
  8. I am wondering in 3A why last week Chatard and WL were tied at the top of the polls, and this week WL is dropped a spot to #2?? I mean WL beat #1 in 2A and gets penalized for by a few voters??!!
  9. Just throwing my two cents in, but I would hope anyone involved with that young mans situation would be very cautious with a broken collar bone that required surgery. He is a fantastic baseball player, no need to jeopardize that. JMO
  10. Also had a starting senior DE not suit up against GS and a couple boys probably could have sat that game out due to being banged up.
  11. Well if you like Bosse in Sectional 32, I have some ocean front property in Spencer county that I'd sell you!!! Oh and I also have pictures of Sasquatch from my trail cameras I'd be willing to part with too.
  12. I wasn't trying to take anything away from Jasper. They played a very good game. My intention was this: four fumbles (not good), missed assignments defending the option (not good), relaxing after getting a 10-0 lead (not good)! This was not a good game for the Patriots. No slight to Jasper, just stating the truth.
  13. Okay let me be clear about this. HH rolled against GS, but they rolled last year too. And look what happened in week 7. A very physical, very close, right down to the end kind of game. Maybe last year vs SR was due to a hang over from week 6, maybe it was because SR played 8 in the box, maybe it was because HH couldn't throw in the ocean from a row boat last year and allowed SR to play 8 in the box, I don't know. I just don't think that this game will be a blow out either way. Both teams run it......clock runs. Both teams are disciplined (no penalties)....clock runs. Shorter game equals less scoring. IMO this game will be won by HH just no a run away, AND I am fine with that. The Patriots ARE good, but they need to concentrate on getting better every week. Fixing the things that need it, and the rest will take care of itself.
  14. Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm........yes give credit to the big boys up front, but I think you are crazy to think this game isn't a heavy weight bout!!!! SR is very good. SR has made deep tournament runs the last couple years. They are well coached. This will be a great game. I believe HH wins. But it will be a dog fight!!
  15. 1) Memorial 2)Heritage Hills 3) Ev. Central 4) Southridge 5)Gibson Southern 6) Castle 7)Mater Dei 8 Jasper 9) North 10) Mt Vernon HM) Linton, North Knox, My two cents: Memorial is king until they are dethroned in the area by someone. HH get credit this week for a statement win. Central is good, waiting for the match up!! SR is SR man, good quality discipline physical team. GS will be fine.
  16. Heritage Hills is very difficult to stop. Through six games there are five different rushers with over 225+ yards on the season, and no one has carried the ball over 55 times. Think about that: a team averaging 43+ points a game and no one player averages double digits in carries. Very balanced, very tough team. GS is a VERY good team, and will no doubt get going They had a few drops and miscues, but give HH their due, the first half was a clinic. Sigler definitely looked fast!!!!
  17. I have heard that last week they only dressed like 18 kids, with several of those being freshman. It would be wise, IMO, for them to forfeit some game especially if they have teams like GS & SR left. Maybe those teams could find an opponent to play.
  18. Oh come on....you guys weren't worried about anything except hotel room rates in Indy last year!!!!
  19. Adding to that statement, I think there will be a very hungry, disciplined and talented SR team that might also add to who wins and loses in this sectional!!
  20. Speaking of Sectional 30.........the injustice of some things. Sectional 28 an absolute meat grinder. Sectional 32, with 3 top 10 teams. Sectional 31 has some stiff competition top to bottom................and then you have a sectional like 31 with one team having a winning record. I know the schools have no choice in the matter, but the irony of it all.
  21. Well then I can disagree with your opinions. I know Chatard is great and West Lafayette, but I can't imagine an accurate "any class" poll omitting half the classes. Your title of said poll should read differently "Top 15 in 3, 5, and 6A"
  22. Maybe this poll should be "Top 15 Teams Regardless of Class, and you have to be from Indy or Northern Indiana (Mid-Season)" I get it, polls are for discussion and to get insight from fans. But not to include any southern Indiana school in the Top 15. C-mon man!! Evansville Memorial Evansville Central Evansville Mater Dei Gibson Southern This poll includes primarily 5A & 6A schools. Zero 4A schools. And two of the Top 15 teams are currently ranked, according to Sagarin, 94th and 106th respectively!! Just sayin'
