  1. 18 yard TD by North and it’s 14-7 with 7:47 left in the half
  2. 20 yard TD pass by North and it’s 7-7 with 11:13 left in the half
  3. Still need week 2 picks from @Impartial_Observer, @SPARKS, and @Uncle Bubba
  4. Hate to be nitpicky. Not sure if you want me to be. But it doesn’t look like there should be white between the navy stripe and the red stripes. Navy should be immediately followed by red on both sides.
  5. Week 2 Picks Bloomington North (0-1) at BNL (1-0): The Cougars lead the all-time series with the Stars 25-14. They’ve won the last seven games and 18 of the last 19. For a second year in a row, BNL pulls off a surprise win against Martinsville in week 1. They hope to avoid last year’s follow-up when Bloomington North defeated them 29-20. Based on how bad the Cougars looked against Bloomington South last week, I like the Stars’ chances this time around. Columbus East (0-1) at Columbus North (1-0): The Bull Dogs lead the all-time series with the Olympians 30-25. This classic rivalry has been a pretty one-sided affair over the last ten years as Columbus North has won five straight and nine of the last ten. North already has the record for the most consecutive wins in the series and they will look to extend it to six. East had a good first half against Mooresville last week but turnovers were a killer in the second half and overall. North’s defense looked impressive against a usually solid Whiteland team en route to a 14-7 victory. I question, though, if Mooresville is trending down based on last season’s 5-5 record and with having a new coach. I also wonder if Whiteland is due for a bad year based on all the graduation losses. Nevertheless, the Bull Dogs seem to be the safer bet here so I’ll take them. I’ll be surprised if it’s close. Jeffersonville (0-1) at Seymour (0-1): The Red Devils lead the all-time series with the Owls 37-28-1. Jeff has won the last two. Interestingly, the teams have traded consecutive wins over the last eight years. Seymour scored wins in 2018 and 2019. Jeff followed that with wins in 2020 and 2021. Seymour added a couple in 2022 and 2023. And, like I said, Jeff won in 2024 and 2025. Like East, Seymour had a good first half last week (against Greenwood) but the wheels came off in the second half. The Red Devils got pulverized but it was against a very good Lawrence Central team. Not really sure who to go with in this one but I’ll just say Seymour squeaks one out. New Albany (1-0) at 2A #3/#5 Indianapolis Lutheran (1-0): The Bulldogs and Saints met for the first time ever last year and it resulted in a 17-0 Lutheran victory. The Bulldogs landed a shocking 28-7 win last week against another 2A powerhouse in Providence, which snapped a 16 game losing streak. Meanwhile, Lutheran beat a perennially weak Crispus Attucks team 35-0. As much as I’d like to pick New Albany, I’m still a little hesitant. I need to see more from them before I hop aboard that train. Therefore, Lutheran is my pick. Whiteland (0-1) at 5A #6/#7 Floyd Central (1-0): The Warriors lead the all-time series with the Highlanders 3-0. This year’s game will be the first ever to take place at Floyd Central. Whiteland looked disappointing in last week’s 14-7 loss to Columbus North while Floyd Central looked mightily impressive against 3A powerhouse Gibson Southern. As opposed to the Titans, the Warriors are bigger, have more depth, and use a tricky offense so this could be a tougher game than most expect. @Fkfootball is going to call me a hater but I’ve got to see a little more evidence before I go all-in with the Highlanders. I’m taking Whiteland in a close game.
  6. 100% agree. Plain helmets suck.
  7. You are correct. To piggyback off this, looks like the middle stripe is navy blue with two thinner red stripes (one on each side) next to it. Facemask is red. Chin guard and chin straps are black. @hhpatriot04
  8. Not sure anyone here will know about Triton Central but the rest look about right to me based on what I’ve seen.
  9. Fair enough. I ask because I like to debate and play the role of devil’s advocate when it comes to politics and religion. Personally, I think too many people can’t handle differing opinions about things, especially those two topics. By playing my “gimmick”, I try to get them to see another side to it while I also strive to understand their views/arguments. It may not change their opinion, or mine, but the goal is to at least get them (and myself) a better understanding of other viewpoints and to realize there are good people that believe other things than you. In summation, I call it a gimmick. You don’t. Potayto, potahto.
  10. I would argue that if you take it upon yourself to challenge the status quo/groupthink then that makes it a role you play (i.e. a gimmick) and not your natural thoughts.
  11. @Muda69 I’ve got a question for you. As a lifelong fan of professional wrestling, I’m curious about something. Are you a gimmick? Specifically, are you a schtick whose whole purpose for being on this site is to be a contrarian and challenge the status quo/groupthink, or do you really believe the things you say on here? I’ll hang up and listen.
  12. Just out of curiosity, where did you coach?
  13. Week 2 Schedule Bloomington North (0-1) at BNL (1-0) Columbus East (0-1) at Columbus North (1-0) Jeffersonville (0-1) at Seymour (0-1) New Albany (1-0) at 2A #3/#5 Indianapolis Lutheran (1-0) Whiteland (0-1) at 5A #6/#7 Floyd Central (1-0)
  14. Good to know. I had seen the Orioles listed as their nickname someplace else before as well. However, most sources I had seen said they were the Deaf Hoosiers. If both are used, I wonder how we’re to determine when to use them. For instance, Columbus East are the Olympians and Columbus North are the Bull Dogs. However, in swimming, Columbus East are the H2Olympians (or H2Os for short) and Columbus North are the Bull Frogs. For Indiana Deaf, are the Orioles and Deaf Hoosiers nicknames sport-specific or are they just interchangeable?
  15. Do you happen to know when Indiana Deaf started going by the Orioles nickname? Everything I had always seen said they were called the Deaf Hoosiers.
  16. Morristown is the Yellow Jackets. Their helmets just say Jackets for short.
  17. It’s only one week and we had nothing to go off of. Week 1 is always the hardest week.
  18. Sorry for the delay on this. Life has gotten in the way. HHC Pick ‘Em Standings (after week 1): @LC_Bears_04 4/6 @SPARKS 4/6 @Bluejacket1 3/6 @boilerfan87 3/6 @Fkfootball 3/6 @Frozen Tundra 3/6 @gonzoron 3/6 @Goose10 3/6 @ptr 3/6 @Uncle Bubba 3/6 @mamasa 2/6 @Impartial_Observer 1/6
  19. Is Lawrence Central as good as some people have been saying? I know they smashed Jeffersonville but that’s not really a good barometer for knowing if LC is legit or not.
  20. My only knock on this (and it’s a slight one) is that Columbus East’s face masks are brown. I can’t say it with 100% positivity but I believe the outline of the O is also brown. From a distance, they both definitely look black. However, the facemask is 100% brown and I haven’t been close enough to confirm if the outline of the O is too.
  21. A Providence team with a good last few years, 2A or not
