  4. I understand the sentiment, but one of Comer’s mainstays lives a mile from me. And he’s sure not in Danville’s district.
  5. A few weeks ago in the Martinsville/Mooresville game, a fan blew an air horn during play—drew a flag from the white hat (state finals crew)—sideline warning. Next play, air horn again—flag again—15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct. Really doubt if that fits protocol, but there were no more airhorns that night.

  14. North Posey 15 South Vermillion 7, one play into 2nd Q.
  15. Saw them fritter away their unbeaten season in the opener against Gibson Southern. Defensively, they controlled the LOS—GS got very little except some keepers from their QB, and one huge play on a scramble for the game winner. Running game was between the tackles…no game breakers. Good big receiver in Scrafton. Blocked punt for a score, and a fumble at the goal line was their undoing that night. Lot could change from then to now, though.
  16. Cascade/Monrovia used to play for the Battle of I-70 Trophy. Dont even play now—changed to the Detour-Road Closed Trophy.
  17. Mac 24 Rochester 14 after 3, Zebras driving.
  18. Mac 17 Rochester 14 half
  19. Rochester 14 Maconaquah 7 after 1
  20. Martinsville/Mooresville game last week—Martinsville has a short fourth-down FG attempt blocked backward into the air. The holder, standing, catches the ball, and just stands there for a couple seconds, with some Mooresville defenders around him, but they aren’t active either. Finally, the holder realizes it should be a live ball, and scampers into the end zone. Not sure if/when a whistle blew to kill the play, but Mooresville eventually was granted possession at the original LOS. Is there such a thing as a player giving himself up, and killing the play in this instance? It could have been a safety hazard situation.
  21. The ball was not moved up. If you actually watch the stream, the QB fumbled (and recovered) the 3rd down snap, and the 4th down spot placed the nose of the ball on the 4 yard line. And they replayed the down from exactly the same spot.
  22. The original spot of the 4th down play WAS the four yard line.
  23. Martinsville 27 Mooresville 18 F
  24. Martinsville 27 Mooresville 18 10 left
