  1. There was a sectional game some years back where the defense had a pick six in overtime, and the officials screwed it up, and allowed it to stand for the win.
  2. Stevens got hurt against Mooresville—didn’t appear that bad at the time, but I’m pretty certain it ended up being a season-ender.
  3. Maybe he had time to read some old newspaper articles detailing what Ev. Memorial “friends of their program” got caught doing in the 80’s and 90’s.
  4. The observer program has always been a good idea, but unless things have changed the last few years, it’s pretty inconsequential. A guy I used to work basketball with told me about three years ago that he was the only IHSAA football observer south of Marion County….and he wasn’t very far south. At that rate, stripes in the south could expect to be observed once every 10 years or so.
  5. Thanks. I didn’t think what they did could be right. After a lengthy discussion, they marked off 15 back from the line of scrimmage for the face mask, then 15 forward for the roughing, and gave Danville the ball 1st and 10.
  6. Danville punting from a 4th and 4 situation—Webo roughs the punter, Danville grabs Webo return man’s face mask on the return. What are the possible options and enforcement?
  7. Spicer’s 61 yarder had 50-60 mph wind behind him—the ball looked like flubber going through the air. He had tried a 63 yarder earlier which had enough distance, but was wide.
  8. DO NOT take 39 directly off off 67, as there is a bridge out a couple miles up. You can continue past 39 on 67 a few miles to Centerton, and take Robb Hill road to hit 39 beyond the construction. Be careful at Centerton, as it is a funky stoplighted 4 lane intersection.
  9. Several weeks ago, Cascade threw over Lutheran's secondary for 6 lengthy TD's, but had 3 called back by penalty. Saw your guys against ND last week--a good QB and two quality big receivers--whether you can get behind them like that I don't know. Not certain Lutheran will have to honor the run like they did that night either. At full strength, I think you guys could give them all they want--as it is, McFadden may be too much to handle.
  10. My bad, I'm a basketball/baseball official/umpire-----BACK JUDGE Point remains the same-why is it prudent for the IHSAA to assign someone who lives in Mooresville to work the Mooresville/EC sectional final?
  11. Mooresville's punt game is weak for a high-level 4A. Passing game isn't always sharp, although very capable. This week's game probably won't find the Field Judge being from Mooresville, as was the case against EC. Still cannot believe the IHSAA (well, yeah I can) did that.
  12. Exchanging a Friday night home gate for paying rent on a neutral facility so your handful of parents can travel 200 miles roundtrip to watch a game dwarfed by College Football Saturday. Columbus East says thanks for the snub.
  13. It doesnt have to make your top 100 reasons. But I'm guessing its in the top 2 or 3 of the 150+ omitted schools' athletic directors.
  14. And any system like the one you're stumping for that offers half the field a now-meaningless10th game and reduced revenues is an extremely tough sell to those schools
  15. That was Tuesday...when it was sunny and wind was out of the west. Today was cloudy with an easterly wind. Try to keep up.
  16. You can look at the Avon at Fishers game from a couple of weeks back on the IHSAA tv network. Five minutes before game time, there MIGHT be 150 fans in the stands for 6A's #1 Orioles. Windfall profits await.
  17. Bigger picture? Ok, South Newton's won 102 games this century, your alma mater has won 69. Must be withering for you.
