What’s the Call?

Player A is running the ball.  Has a long breakout run and gets out in front of the defense.  On the 10 yard line he turns to wave “bye bye” to defense making it very clear he is rubbing it in.   He scores the TD.

What level of play? If it’s played under high school rules, this is an unsportsmanlike conduct foul against A. Because USC is always enforced as if it were a dead ball foul, the TD counts. The defense gets to choose whether the 15 yd. penalty is assessed on the try, or the subsequent kickoff.

High school rules, but youth level football (6th grade).  The refs called taunting and marked it from the spot it occurred (10 yard line).  TD did not count.  
I was curious because I really had no idea.

TD should have counted.  Mark off the (clearly to be accepted penalty) on the ensuing kickoff.

It's possible the youth league has supplemental rules for something like this and wants it enforced that way. But as others have said, under NFHS rules the TD counts. NCAA used to be this way until a few years ago when they made UNS a regular live ball foul to curtail this type of activity. It's not common in HS but I would not mind this rule change.

My assumption....

In a TIGHT game they may in fact want the yardage on the PAT.

More than not, it seems to be assessed on the ensuing KO.
