Hard to believe we are halfway through the season already

2 big games:  Marian at Penn and New Prairie at Elkhart

Then you have the battles between the 4 high schools in South Bend

Still not sure how good Elkhart is....as a Mishawaka fan I sure wish they played this season...

Penn wins over Marian, double digits.

Elkhart beats NP, this could be close or could be a blowout. 

St. Joe beats Adams....Adams is bad.

Riley beats Washington...Washington I think is worse than Adams.

Penn could have scored 100 on Washington, but called the dogs off after the first quarter. 

The state of South Bend football is possibly the worst shape it has been in a while.

I don't think Elkhart would have played you any better than Penn did.

Marian at Penn: Intrigued by this one. Marian appears to be a lot better as the season goes on. Penn seems to be more human as the season goes on. Still think Penn wins this one by 2-3 touchdowns but it'll be competitive. Wouldn't be completely shocked to see an upset either
New Prairie at Elkhart: Another good game in the conference (we haven't had many of those). My head tells me the Elkhart Dline is going give the cougars fits. If NP does the standard plays it'll be a long night. But if they throw a few wrinkles in there to keep the lions on the heels it'll be a good one. NP defense has been pretty damn good all season (only 2 offensive touchdowns).  How's the Elkhart offense? haven't heard much about them this year

Riley at Washington: Can't imagine there is anyone worse than Washington. Riley big

If we get beat again, I quit. Getting beat the way we did against Mishawaka has put each game from the W column to the toss up column.

That's how I feel after our St. Joe game. Went from "Probably enter post-season 7-2 or 8-1 and make a nice playoff run." To "Possibly enter 5-4 with majority of our wins over South Bend Schools and a struggling LaPorte and can get bounced at any time in sectionals."

There are 2 big games but seems little interest.

Will Marian try and take away the QB running for Penn and make others beat them.  Can Marian's play makers be the difference? 

If Elkhart plays discipline defense and takes away the QB running with NP then it could be an interesting game.  Can NP Handle the their athletes?

St. Joe should dominate Adams but it is Homecoming for SJ and let's hope them come out ready to play.

I can see Marian winning this game . This Penn team is very undisciplined(Penalties). The defense is horrid , this will show when they actually play someone with a good offense . The offense does have big play capability , but lacks consistency due to penalties. Didn't Marian jump out to a 17 point lead on Mishawaka ? I don't know what's going on at Penn , I can see 2-3 more losses this year .

Marian 21 at Penn  27©, 7 pm Penn's special teams make the winning difference.
New Prairie 21 at Elkhart  14©, 7:30 pm Elkhart's defense will bend and break in the red zone. My big question is whether Elkhart's offense is able to put up points against a disciplined defense.
Adams 7 at St. Joseph 42 ©, 7 pm Running clock in the second half if Adams can't get on the board.
Riley 35 at Washington 0 ©, 7 pm Washington won't be able to handle Riley's offense.

SJ beat Adams 24-12  The offense inconsistencies continue  Half the O line starters did not play

Adams scored one TD on a pick 6.  The other came late in the game

New Prairie holds their own against Elkhart but falls short 17-14. NP’s defense will keep them in every game but the offense is really lacking this year. Was not overly impressed by Elkhart.

Pretty much what this year is. Going to be a tough out but will lose some frustrating games (we already have). Defense had their backs against the wall all night and kept us in it. NIC title is out of the question now, which is unfortunate because we could easily be 3-0 in conference and in the drivers seat setting up a showdown with Penn later.  The sectional looks pretty wide open with Hanover Central as the slight favorite. Hopefully we can stumble into sectionals with a 6-3 record and go on a nice run. I'm worried though there are still a couple losses in our regular season.

Again, it wouldn't be the game you think it would be. Mishawaka, baring some bad turnovers, would crush Elkhart.
