Pretty good line up of games this week, NIC could flex some muscles or go quietly into the night.

Lake Central at Penn - Going to go with Penn here but LC is better than there 3-6 record indicates. They got beat soundly by CP and Merrillville but the other 4 losses were all 1 possession. Could be 7-2 if the breaks went there way. Winner of this one gets to play 1 more week, and that's all they are getting when Crown Point will be waiting.
Snider at Elkhart - One of the biggest games in the short Elkhart high school football history. Could really send a message by beating a pretty good FW Snider team. Or it's just the same ole' same ole' from the city with a heart. Really intriguing match-up
Lafayette Jeff at Adams - LJ with a running clock
New Prairie at Hobart - Hobart might be smelling blood after the cougars have embarrassed them the last 2 seasons in the playoffs. Brickyard is always a tough place to play and I think the Brickies will come out emotional. Cougars are 12-3 vs "Da Region" schools in the last handful of years. NP wins the battle on paper but it's tough to bet against a motivated Hobart squad.
NorthWood at St. Joseph, - These 2 seems extremely even across the board. Like all season the STJ offense has kept the huskies from being a very good team. If Northwood can score 21 points I like their chances, but the Huskies can keep them under that I'll take STJ.
Jimtown at Marian, - 2 different philosophies playing out here. You have Marian playing up in competition and coming in 5-5 and Jimtown that aligned with more like sized schools and won a share of their conference title. I think all the bumps and bruises Marian has gone through will have callused them a sectional championship game appearance

Lake Central at Penn- LC is only 3-6 because of some tough luck. Either this game will be close will a blow out. No matter the outcome, Penn wins and gets to live 1 more week before they have to play Crown Point in the sectional championship.

Snider at Elkhart- The Fort Wayne people are already thinking of a Snider vs Carroll rematch but don't underestimate how good this Elkhart team is. Snider will give them some problems but the Lions have the luxury of playing at home and they will find a way to win this game plus. Elkhart by 4

Lafayette Jeff at Adams- Game will be over at halftime. Jeff wins BIG

New Prairie at Hobart- Don't know much on Hobart but they did had a ok season from their record.  New Prairie wins by 1 or 2 TDs.

Northwood at St Joseph- Northwood has struggled all season for some momentum but having a great draw boost up the motivation and if they win, they will host the sectional finals most likely playing Mishawaka. Northwood will win but it will be close.

Jimtown at Marian- Marian is 5-5 but played schools 4A or higher the entire regular season which might help them in the postseason. Jimtown rebounded this year  by sharing the INSC crown with Knox and are looking to win their first sectional in 10 years. Marian will be ready to play but the Jimmies will escape with the victory. Jimtown by 3

There are a couple of interesting match ups on paper at least

Penn, NP, St. Joe and Marian all move on to next week. Yes I think St. Joe gets the job done vs Northwood.

Elkhart struggled moving the ball against a bad Penn team. Snider would have to be on par with Penn to get beat by Elkhart. Snider has played better competition in conference. With exception of Concord, Elkhart has not played up to the competition that Snider has seen all year. Will the game be close, probably.

If it weren't for a muffed punt, Elkhart gets beat by Penn 3-0.

Tbh I don't think many are penciling in Snider from the fort..this isn't a typical Snider team...n it appears Elkhart has the talent to make a run...that transfer rb gave them fits last year...Carroll n Elkhart would be a better matchup imo..

That was also in a triple option offense. I am not saying he isn't capable of making plays. The quality of opponent has to count for something. Snider got beat by Warren (8-1) and Carroll (7-2).

Elkhart has played Concord and Penn.....The Penn game they scored 7 points off of a fumbled Penn punt. I am not saying it will be a walk off, but Elkhart was stonewalled by Penn all second half.

I can't figure out Elkharts scheme..would think they would be run heavy with him at rb1..they won ugly against Penn yet they still won..Snider's offense has been pretty vanilla this year compared to Carroll whose playbook is wide open...

Yes they still won, but this year beating Penn is not a great feat. The fact that there are polls out there that have Penn sniffing the top ten is laughable. Elkhart has done what they are supposed to do, win games and at times win ugly. But, the talent that they have seen this year does not compare to what is on the field in Fort Wayne.

It is entirely possible I am wrong for yet a third time this year, and Elkhart does win this game, but I have become a hardcore sceptic of this area's teams when it comes non-regional match-ups.

I think Concord has had an amazing season, however I think they will struggle down state....why?  Because, everything coming out of St. Joe and Elkhart Counties are overrated until they prove otherwise....that means beating a blue blood region team, Fort Wayne team and one of the Indy schools.....actually beating any Indy school at this point.

Even with all the D1 recruits? Snider has struggled in the passing game so its easier to game plan for them than previous years.  I wondered why the lions got little to no love from the pollsters..

Elkhart has always head talented players. If I am not mistaken they have 3 D1 commits...which is more than any school in my area....but this team is not world beaters. If they get by Snider, I will buy in. But, until then I am a skeptic of all teams from my area.

Also, Elkhart is as high as 6 in the polls. So, they are getting more love than I would give them.

Wow they have moved up since I last checked a few weeks ago then! I'm just not sold on Snider this year..worst timing to be in 6a..ik the others are thinking the panthers still have enough ammo to win..I'm just not seeing the guns..how u speak of penn is slightly how I feel about Snider..last two years I would have taken them in the sectional even with Carroll lurking..this year they just seem off..even beating wayne without their star rb/lb looked as if they could do barely enough..I've been wrong b4 though. Can Elkhart throw and do their linemen play both sides?

No they don't really throw it well, especially don't like the match-up against Kolagbodi and Logan. Yes their big boys play both sides.

Most of the predictions I've seen in here seem really reasonable to me. Something like 17-14 either way seems probable. Seems like a first to 28 wins type of game.

Snider/Elkhart

Over/Under 31

Definitely taking the under in this one.

If this game cracks 28 I will be surprised. Snider just needs to be sound on D and not turn the ball over....Get to a week where you are playing a foe you know, and see if you can contain Carroll enough to keep you in the game...I know I have beaten this Elkhart horse to death...I just don't believe they have it. If they pull off this upset and then manage to beat Carroll....I will then give them credit.

If Snider's thinking about Carroll, they'll be cleaning out there lockers. It was said by someone that this is arguably the biggest game in young "new" Elkhart's history. The opportunity to host a state power from outside NW Indiana. Elkhart's going to be jacked for this game. I only hope that Snider is equally as "jacked" about this opportunity to play such a quality opponent from the South Bend Metro. If they are, then they take it. If revenge on Carroll is lurking in their minds, there won't be a rematch.

Sure, you could never overlook an opponent. That was just my perspective of what Snider needs to do. I think the jacked-o-meter is going to be on the side of Elkhart, big time home playoff game that isn't Penn for the first time in a while...where they are probably "favored" in their eyes. I remember my Freshman year we had Snider rolling in for the semi state game, everyone was counting us out, Corey did a great job that week getting us hyped for the game. Normally hype wears off in a half...but we sustained it the entire game and bounces went our way that night....The next week we have Warren Central....and their messaging to us was so off base. The meek will inherit the earth bs...did not play well with the players...I am in no way saying that is why we go trounced...but it was not how you get a team that just dropped 60 on Snider ready for the biggest game of their lives..

You part of the Penn program that waxed Snider that night? Shame on you.

We are at home, so we will be there. Then we get to CP if we don't crap the bed this week.

Well Snider got their revenge the next year when we went to the Fort and got smashed.

Elkhart has such a unique color palette of bright colors and they choose to go shoulder to toe in all black. Not a bad look, just a shame.

Elkhart's defense was good, as advertised. Right up there with Warren Central to be honest. The teams were evenly matched in my opinion, in fact, I thought Elkhart looked like the better team in the first half. Snider was just a little bit better in the second half, and that was the difference.

Lions lost their qb first play of the game as well. They had alot of weapons..wonder what the stats looked like..
