FootballFan1164 Posted January 17, 2025 Posted January 17, 2025 Southport hired Sean Little as HC. Looking him up, he was down in Louisville coaching the last few years. Was OC at Ballard and just missed a trip to the State Finals after a last second Semi State loss to Male HS (which is a power house down there). Was HC at Oldham County last two years. Inherited an 0-11 team. First year went 3-8. This year went 6-5 with 4 of the losses being 1 score games. The other loss was a blowout loss to Trinity. Looks like Little knows how to turn a program around. Southport definitely needs that. It looks like Southport is wanting to invest to make football good especially with Perry Meridian taking some strides these last couple years. Quote
BDGiant93 Posted January 21, 2025 Posted January 21, 2025 Southport has an excellent athletic department and has had one for several years. The problem isn't the AD. The problem has been the talent level which just hasn't been there in football. They do have some athletes right now as their basketball programs are both better. Getting them to come out for football in the fall may be his next battle. Quote
Coach Nowlin Posted January 21, 2025 Posted January 21, 2025 speaking of which Aded DC position for Southport on IFCA Quote
temptation Posted January 21, 2025 Posted January 21, 2025 Southport will never be a player at the 6A level when their enrollment, SES and geography is taken into consideration. Not Arsenal Tech level purgatory but nonetheless. Now, you combine Southport and Perry? Then we can talk. Quote
