Here's an excerpt from the article:

Brett Cooper, who led Perry Meridian to a 14-39 record the past five seasons, said Monday he has stepped down as coach. Cooper led the Falcons to a 5-6 record last season, the best mark for the program since a 5-5 season in 2015.

Cooper is not necessarily getting out of coaching.

“I am exploring other options at this time but wanted to give Perry an opportunity to focus on the future.”

“Exploring other options” so I take this as he potentially has accepted another position. Is this possible the Bloomington North opening? Or out of state? Or moving into an assistant role.

Wow. BN hasn’t named a HC yet as of today?

I'm not close to the program being a South fan, but usually rumors start leaking about who is being considered, and I have heard absolutely nothing on the North hire hunt.  The PM and North hires need to be done as soon as possible considering the lateness in the job openings. North has their defensive line coach, Brad Engel, running their summer program as the interim head coach, and who knows, maybe they hand him the job full-time.

Thank you. I wasn’t trying to “dig up” potential hires.  I read BN’s former HC resigned.  I assumed they hired someone being it is almost July.

I obviously had the date of the resignation incorrect in my memory.  I thought, for whatever reason, Lindsey resigned much earlier in 2025. I just reread where he resigned on 5/19.

Has Perry Meridian hired or promoted someone?

I see they have Kevin Miller as the coach right now. I don't know if he is the HC on an interim basis or a permanent hire as the HC. He was an assistant coach last season for the Falcons. Miller's last head coaching job was with Knightstown in 2017 and he has a career 21-61 in eight seasons as a head coach. Besides Knightstown, he also was the head coach at South Dearborn.

6A purgatory.

Based on the data I've seen roughly half of the enrollment is Asian and Hispanic. No offense to those fine communities, but that's not a great recipe for football success, espeically when a majority of that cohort is likely from Burmese origins.

Do you happen to know where Kevin played college ball?  I played with a Kevin Miller in college and am curious if it's the same guy.

Thanks.

Thanks.

He played at Evansville if I'm not mistaken.
