They've had a couple of move-ins - the QB being one, as his dad got a job transfer to the Indy area from Ohio - but just about every kid playing on Friday night was a name I saw on a jersey in the New Pal Cadet Football League when my son was playing in it nine years ago. The youth league is phenomenal, and has been for a long time. There are hundreds of kids playing tackle football from first grade on, learning proper fundamentals from an early age, and getting very good coaching. A lot of the youth coaches are former players in the program. NP is 4-1 all-time vs. 6A programs. 2018: New Pal 31, Center Grove 9 2019: New Pal 28, Center Grove 9 2022: New Pal 42, Westfield 28 2023: Westfield 34, New Pal 14 2025: New Pal 28, Decatur Central 6 (*6A due to success factor) I think it's way more astounding that you have only played 5 6A teams in your history. Cathedral plays 5 a year! I guess with conference commitments it checks out, but thought NP would go out and chase it a bit more. 2 Quote

They cruise thru the regular season and take their chances come playoff time. They should be challenging themselves like Cathedral does, yuck I just said that out loud, and making a true case for best regardless of class Quote

Did I miss where someone who is a part of the New Pal program “dubbed themselves the best team in the state?” If so, can you direct me to that quote? Quote
Sparty Posted October 5, 2025 Posted October 5, 2025 Probably a dumb question, is NP and Cathedral both 5A South? Quote

Well, you ranking them I think 3rd in the state gets it started. I see bashing of Crown Point’s schedule and their schedule is tougher than New Pal’s. Full disclosure, I think New Pal is good, but if they played some 6A teams in Indy what would that record look like? 1 1 Quote

I would have them favored against every team in the state, except for the two that I have ranked in front of them. Maybe slight underdogs were they on the road at LN/Westfield/CG. Now, were they to play an HCC/MIC schedule weekly? I don’t think they hold up. This is message board fodder and is for fun. Seems that New Pal is unnecessarily catching strays on here. Interesting… Edited October 5, 2025 by temptation Quote

Interesting… First, DC is too high, second, I just trust the 6A teams in the top 10 more. They are battle tested and play high quality opponents every week. Maybe New Pal goes 5-3 against the rest of the top 10, maybe they go 3-5. Additionally, who has DC beaten this year? Nobody. My question to you is Avon, who you have ranked at 18, beat DC head to head and you have DC at 10…. Edited October 5, 2025 by Komets2727 2 Quote

Jeff took Chatard to the wire. Chatard wasted Roncalli and almost beat Cathedral. Jeff wasted every other opponent they played including Harrison by a higher margin than Chatard did. I've got Jeff over HSE by 7, and Jeff over Avon by 14. Quote

But their body of work over the course of the season doesn't convince me that they beat Jeff. It's not possible to look at Jeff schedule and draw any conclusion other than them being ranked somewhere between 8-12. Quote
