Condry subtle suggestion that Penn beats CP on the pairing show in Sectional, anyone catch that, maybe a real good one

Unbelievable

Don't let the wrong guy catch you implying crown point could lose a game, lest you be accused of tarnishing their accomplishments

Well, being that you like running clocks and utter blowouts, I'd say go for it. If you've never been to a game at Carroll, it might be worth it just to take in the atmosphere. They bring a crowd, great community support, maybe the best facility in the state.

The only good game this week will be Snider at North Side. That's a good backyard brawl almost in the heart of Downtown. That should be a good game with North as the slight favorite. All others will be blowouts.

Leo at Dekalb pits a 7-1 vs 6-2.

I wanna go up but I feel like I can wait a year to pick up a snyder game.

The only ones doubting Penn right now are the Penn fans.

Next season's opener at their new stadium. You might see guys like Rod Woodson, Vaughn Dunbar, and Jessie bates. I'm guessing it will be a show. And they play East Noble. No doubt it will be the best atmosphere in the entire state.

There just isn't a game this week that really screams "come out and see." But if you're in the area, those are your three choices I think.

Not sure what Penn fans you speak of. I only know of one. I’ve just kept my mouth shut on the subject, but I do think it’s funny that most everyone else has already crowned CP sectional champs. Why even play the game then? CP did whip Penn last year , that was last year.

Agree. I have Crown Point as the favorite until Penn or Carroll can prove otherwise. I just like where their program is under the helm of Buzea. I guess it's just one Penn poster, so I stand corrected. But hey, I can understand his outlook considering the condition of the program over the last few years. They haven't been 6A good since 2017. So there's reason to be skeptical.

What do you mean by 6A good? If you mean the top 10-15% of 6A then yes you’re right . But in 2023 , they beat 2 6A teams and lost by one point to CP . I think Penn would beat at least  half the teams in 6A in 2023. So again not sure what 6A good means .

I get it, 2023 was kind of an outlier since 2017. I guess that's the one year they could claim 6A good. They did get waxed by Cathedral early in the season. Losing to CP by 1 pt showed that they were up there. I put more stock in the later game than i do the earlier one. So yeah, you could say they were good in 2023. I like Penn, just trying to be objective.

And let me be clear , Cp may beat Penn for the third year in a row . I just don't think we should  crown them Sectional champs until the games played .

Will @23andCounting claim Penn as a northeast Indiana team if they beat Crown Point?

No

I will claim them as an indy team when they win

Only makes sense if crown point starts flailing against them

Penn's schedule lends nothing to support that Penn will be competitive in this game. The first time we play any semblance of a football team (no offense to the weaker teams in the conference) we turned the ball over three times and looked rusty. Since Elkhart, we played another bad football team and now we have St. Joe which Penn should win in similar fashion to the Elkhart game. Our best competition was back in week 2. CP has at least played Merrillville, and the rest of the DAC including Pike.

I think Penn would be #2 in the DAC this year, that is specifically based on the fact that we have not played a football team at our level yet this year. How this team responds to that pressure in a few weeks will show us all who Penn is. I want Penn to win, I think based on the last decade(ish) of football tells me that it wont happen. I understand that these are different players and for the most part coaches, but, you have to prove it on the field at some point.

This is fair, but, until then CP is the objective and clear favorite by at least two touchdowns. They still need to play the game, and I would love to watch Penn win and see success again.

I believe more in the players than I do the coaching. That is where I struggle to trust the program.

Rodney are you in danger? Blink twice if you need help!

Not in danger

I am the least bias user on this forum

Also crown points schedule does nothing to say they would win either.

So why dont you go and win this thing so we can get to next August and start ranking cp as a top team for another year

The boys will do their best in a few weeks.

Still think  they should of went outside the program to get a coach. Also need to change the Schedule , we need to play more 6A teams or equivalent from Indy area ,  IL,OH or MI .

We are in 100% agreement.

I agree, I'm just giving them the benefit of the doubt because I'd like to see them do well. But until they have the opportunity to play someone good, I guess there's always hope.

Columbia City to the west, Adams Central to the south. That's NE Indiana in my opinion.

Warsaw, Penn, Mishawaka = North Central.

Okay, I had to get out my ruler for this. If you want to eliminate Central Indiana and just roll with NW and NE, then Mishawaka is right on the line. They can just choose which side they want to be on. Technically? Penn would be considered NE Indiana by maybe 5 miles.
